Nickerson Beach Campground Introduce
For our local users in US seeking "camping near me" options, let's take a look at Nickerson Beach Campground located at 880 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach, NY 11561, USA, based on information available online, including a recent customer review. While this campground is in the United States, understanding its attributes can help you identify similar desirable features when using local USese camping platforms.
Nickerson Beach Campground, as its name suggests, is situated near a beach in Lido Beach, New York. The environment is likely coastal, offering proximity to the ocean. One review mentions visiting in the off-season and experiencing windy conditions, which is typical for coastal areas. The reviewer also noted "lots of goose poop," suggesting the presence of wildlife in the area. Despite the off-season conditions and beach closures at the time of the visit, the reviewer still reported having a good time, indicating that the campground itself has positive aspects beyond immediate beach access.
In terms of services, the customer review highlights that the campground itself was "clean and quiet." This suggests that the management prioritizes cleanliness and a peaceful atmosphere for campers. Importantly, the reviewer specifically mentioned that "the bathrooms were very clean," which is a significant factor for many campers. The staff was also described as "very helpful," indicating a positive customer service experience. These aspects contribute to the overall quality of the campground regardless of the immediate surrounding environment.
The features of Nickerson Beach Campground, according to the review, include "large" campsites, providing "plenty of room to spread out." This is a notable advantage, as spacious sites enhance comfort and privacy. However, the reviewer pointed out a couple of areas for potential improvement. Firstly, the lack of direct beach access from the campground was mentioned as a drawback, as it required walking through the cabana area, which was perceived as time-consuming and somewhat awkward. Secondly, the reviewer felt that the use of the pool should be included in the site fee, as an additional charge of $50 per day was considered high. The presence of a pool is a significant feature, especially for families, but the extra cost was a point of concern for this reviewer.
While specific promotional information isn't provided in the review, the fact that the customer is "definitely planning on booking next summer" speaks volumes about their overall positive experience despite the noted drawbacks. This suggests that the core offerings of the campground – clean facilities, helpful staff, and spacious sites – are strong selling points. For potential visitors, the proximity to the beach (even if access isn't directly from the campsite), the cleanliness, and the spaciousness of the sites are likely attractive features.

Nickerson Beach Campground Reviews
Visited in the off-season. Very windy, lots of goose poop and the beaches were closed, but we still had a good time.
Apr 30, 2025 · Sarah PaulCampground itself was clean and quiet. The bathrooms were very clean, the staff was very helpful. Each site was large and we had plenty of room to spread out. I would give the fifth star if the campground had its own beach access, walking through the cabana area took a lot of extra time and was awkward. I also think use of the pool should be included in the site. My kids would have liked to swim in the pool and i thought paying an extra $50 a day on top of the price of the site was a little much. Other than that everything else was great and we are definitely planning on booking next summer.
Jul 11, 2023 · Deirdre SchoenfelderGreatly located campground near a wonderful beach, great free hot showers and don't forget to bring your own fire pit!! You need to avoid parkways to get there with your RV. Great simple place to stay...
Oct 13, 2024 · Marc LamarcheI remember camping here many years ago when I was a teenager with my family. We always received a pool pass, the facilities were clean. Staff used to be friendly. I went recently and I was surprised they no longer provide pool passes. Everything is an up charge. The gate was closed at 8:40pm, we had to park in a lot far away and walk in the dark with a tired cranky toddler! The next night we got in at 8pm and didn't realize we drove in the wrong direction and omg some horrible man in a golf cart started screaming at us. There was only about 4 other campers there, our spot was 3 camp spots in so it's not like we were driving crazy. We drove about 100 feet in the wrong direction to our site. The next day another camper told us the man lives on the campground for free and works there. I will not be returning.
Jul 10, 2024 · Tricia FarrellNickerson Beach Campground is a nice relaxing environment. The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful. They guide you to your site and make sure you back in with no issues. The campground is spotless and the staff is constantly around cleaning and taking care of the facilities. There is now a camp store with basic necessities and beach equipment. With the gate by the dunes open access to the beach is not too bad, but as someone else posted it would be nice have a separate beach access so we do not have to walk through the cabana area. Look forward to coming back here again !!
