While the name includes "Picnic Shelter," it's important to understand that this likely refers to a designated area for day use, possibly within a larger recreational area or campground. The single available user review focuses on the condition of the grills at the picnic shelter, suggesting that grilling is a key feature of this facility. If you are a local resident looking for a place to host a picnic or gathering with grilling amenities near Cass Lake, Norway Beach Picnic Shelter warrants consideration, keeping in mind the recent feedback regarding the grills.
The environment surrounding the Norway Beach Picnic Shelter in Cass Lake, Minnesota, is likely to be quite appealing, given the area's natural beauty. Cass Lake is a significant body of water in northern Minnesota, known for its scenic shorelines, abundant forests, and opportunities for outdoor recreation. A "Norway Beach" suggests a location with a sandy or accessible shoreline on Cass Lake, potentially offering pleasant views and a recreational atmosphere. Picnic shelters are often situated in areas that provide shade and easy access to the natural surroundings, making them ideal spots for enjoying the outdoors. Depending on its exact location, the picnic shelter might be near hiking trails, swimming areas, or other recreational facilities associated with Cass Lake. Local users can likely expect a picturesque setting that takes advantage of the lake's natural beauty, providing a backdrop for enjoyable gatherings and picnics. Further research into the Norway Beach area of Cass Lake might reveal more specific details about the surrounding environment, such as the types of trees, proximity to the water, and any nearby natural attractions.
In terms of services, a picnic shelter typically offers basic amenities for day use. The user review specifically mentions "two big grills near the picnic shelter," indicating that grilling is a primary service intended for users of this facility. The presence of a picnic shelter itself suggests a covered area with tables, providing shade and a designated space for eating and gathering. Depending on the specific setup (indicated as "recgovnpsdata," possibly suggesting management by a government or parks service), there might be additional amenities such as restrooms, trash receptacles, and parking areas. However, the review's focus on the malfunctioning grills highlights a potential issue with the upkeep of these key services. The fact that the user paid $80 to rent the facility for the day suggests that there might be a rental fee associated with the picnic shelter, especially for group use. Local users should inquire about any rental costs, permitted capacity, and the availability and condition of amenities such as restrooms and parking when considering this location for a gathering. The review underscores the importance of verifying the functionality of key services like the grills before booking.
The features of the Norway Beach Picnic Shelter (recgovnpsdata) likely center around facilitating group gatherings and outdoor meals. The picnic shelter itself provides a covered area, offering protection from sun and light rain. The presence of "two big grills" suggests the capacity to accommodate larger groups wanting to barbecue. Tables within the shelter would provide seating and eating surfaces. Given its location at Norway Beach on Cass Lake, a key feature is likely the proximity to the lake and its associated recreational opportunities. This could include access to the beach for swimming, potential fishing areas nearby, or scenic lake views. The overall setup is geared towards day use and providing a space for families, friends, or other groups to come together in an outdoor setting. However, the reported condition of the grills – with "holes in all of them" to the point of being unusable on one side – is a significant feature that potential users need to be aware of. The need to "patch a grill to use it" indicates a lack of proper maintenance of this key amenity. Local users planning to rely on the grills should verify their current condition with the managing authority before booking the shelter.
As a facility possibly managed by a government or parks service (indicated by "recgovnpsdata"), promotional information in the traditional sense might be limited. However, information about the availability and rental of the Norway Beach Picnic Shelter could be found on the website of the managing agency, such as a local parks and recreation department or the National Park Service (if "npsdata" implies this). Local users might find details about rental fees, permitted uses, rules and regulations, and potentially photos of the facility on such a website. Given the negative feedback about the grills, it would be prudent to look for any recent updates or maintenance notices regarding the picnic shelter. Local community bulletin boards or websites related to Cass Lake might also provide information or reviews from other users. While specific promotions might not be offered, awareness of rental procedures and any known issues is crucial for local users considering this location for a picnic or gathering.
In conclusion, the Norway Beach Picnic Shelter (recgovnpsdata) in Cass Lake, MN (address: Cass Lake, MN 56633), offers a local option for a picnic or group gathering in a potentially scenic lakeside environment. Key features include a covered picnic shelter and the intended availability of two large grills. However, a recent user review indicates significant issues with the condition of these grills, with holes making them difficult or impossible to use without patching. While the location at Norway Beach on Cass Lake likely provides a pleasant setting and potential access to lake-related recreation, local users considering renting this facility for day use should be aware of the reported maintenance issue with the grills and inquire about their current condition with the managing authority. Information about rental fees, other amenities, and any updates can likely be found on the website of the relevant parks or recreation service.

Norway Beach Picnic Shelter (recgovnpsdata) Reviews
We love this place but both big grills near the picnic shelter need to be replaced. Holes in all of them to the point the grills on west side can't even be used. Paid $80 to rent for the day and was disappointed we had to patch a grill to use it.
