Marclay Point Resort Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Cass Lake, Minnesota area? Marclay Point Resort, located at 16636 Marclay Point Lane Southeast, Cass Lake, MN 56633, USA, can be reached at (218) 335-6589 or +1 218-335-6589. This lakeside resort has received contrasting feedback from visitors, which potential local users should consider when making their camping plans. Let's delve into the details based on the available reviews.
Location and Environment:
Marclay Point Resort is situated on Cass Lake, known for its beautiful waters and recreational opportunities in Minnesota. One reviewer enthusiastically states, "You're able to see the water from every site," highlighting the resort's prime waterfront location. This suggests a scenic environment where campers can enjoy lake views directly from their sites. The same review also mentions that the park is "flat," implying easy navigation without the need for additional transportation like a golf cart. Furthermore, it boasts a "protected harbor with boat slips," making it potentially attractive for those interested in boating and water activities. The presence of friendly campers, particularly the "seasonal renters," is also noted as a positive aspect of the environment.
However, another review paints a less favorable picture of the resort's management and upkeep. This reviewer advises against staying there, citing the owners as "beyond rude" and seemingly disinterested in managing the resort effectively. The complaint includes allegations that one of the owners would rather "drink beer than do anything around the resort" and that they act as if it's an "inconvenience to take care of his campers."
Regarding facilities, the negative review mentions that while there are "two bath houses," they are often not open, allegedly due to the owners' laziness to clean them or their unwillingness to buy toilet paper. This directly contradicts the potential enjoyment of the natural environment by indicating a lack of essential and maintained amenities.
Services and Features (Based on Reviews):
Drawing from both reviews, the potential services and features of Marclay Point Resort include:
- Waterfront RV Sites: Reportedly, every site offers a view of the water.
- Flat Grounds: Easy accessibility around the park.
- Protected Harbor with Boat Slips: An amenity for boating enthusiasts.
- Friendly Seasonal Renters: A positive social aspect mentioned by one reviewer.
- Two Bath Houses (Potentially Unavailable): While present, their operational status and cleanliness are questioned in one review.
The negative review also points out a perceived decline in management quality compared to previous owners and mentions that the resort has been for sale for several years, suggesting potential ongoing issues. The reliance on "seasonal renters" to "pretty much run and maintain this place" indicates a possible lack of consistent management-led upkeep.
Promotional Information (Objective Synthesis):
For local users seeking "camping near me" at a waterfront location, Marclay Point Resort offers the distinct advantage of lake views from every RV site and a protected harbor with boat slips. The flat terrain of the park may appeal to those who prefer easy movement around the campground. The presence of friendly seasonal campers could also contribute to a sense of community.
However, potential visitors should be aware of the serious concerns raised in another review regarding the rudeness of the owners and the potential unavailability or poor maintenance of the bath houses, including a lack of basic supplies like toilet paper. This negative feedback suggests that while the natural setting and some aspects of the physical layout might be appealing, the management and the provision of essential amenities could be problematic.
Given these conflicting perspectives, local users considering Marclay Point Resort for their "camping near me" experience should weigh the attractive waterfront location and potential for boating against the reported issues with the owners and the upkeep of facilities. It might be prudent to seek more recent reviews or contact the resort directly to inquire about the current management and the status of the amenities before making a decision.
In conclusion, Marclay Point Resort in Cass Lake, MN, offers a unique RV park setting with waterfront views from all sites, flat grounds, and a protected harbor. The friendly seasonal campers are also a noted positive. However, a significant concern has been raised regarding the rudeness and disinterest of the current owners, as well as potential issues with the availability and cleanliness of the bath houses. Local users looking for "camping near me" should consider these contrasting points carefully. If a prime lakefront location with boating access is a top priority and you are prepared for potentially subpar management and facilities, Marclay Point Resort might still be an option. However, it would be wise to gather more current information before booking a stay to avoid a potentially disappointing experience.

Marclay Point Resort Reviews
Do not stay here!!!! The owners are beyond rude. They don’t want to be here. Steve would rather drink beer than do anything around the resort. It's an inconvenience to take care of his campers. They have two bath houses, but don't open them up, because either they are too lazy to clean them and/or to cheap buy toilet paper!!! The seasonal renters pretty much run and maintain this place. They used to have summer help run the resort (a young couple and then Pati's son). They were great. The previous owners were phenomenal. There is a reason the resort is for sale and has been for several years. 1 star is too much for this place. Do not ruin your vacation by staying here.
