Based on customer feedback, Old Folks Flat Group Campground provides a positive camping experience, particularly for those traveling with multiple vehicles and needing ample space. One reviewer who stayed at site 7 mentioned that their group was able to fit three trailers, three additional vehicles, and several tents within their designated area. This highlights the generous size of at least some of the campsites, featuring a "large gravel parking spot" with additional space for tents. This is a significant advantage for larger families or groups who often struggle to fit all their vehicles and camping equipment within a single site at other campgrounds.
The convenience of facilities is another positive aspect mentioned by the reviewer. Site 7 was noted to be "close to the flush bathrooms," which is a desirable amenity, especially for families with young children or those who prefer the comfort of flush toilets over vault toilets. Additionally, the presence of "water at the campsite" is a significant convenience, eliminating the need to walk to a communal water spigot for drinking, cooking, and cleaning needs. These amenities contribute to a more comfortable and enjoyable camping experience for groups.
The reviewer also noted that while the satellite photos they had viewed prior to their arrival presented a slightly different picture of the campground's layout, their actual experience was positive. Despite the campground being busy ("The other campsite were all full"), their group at site 7 "weren’t bothered by other busy campers." This suggests that the campsites are arranged in a way that provides sufficient space and separation between groups, minimizing noise and maximizing privacy, even when the campground is at full capacity. This is a crucial factor for those seeking a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience without feeling overcrowded.
Another reviewer specifically recommends Old Folks Flat Group Campground as a "great place for families." They further elaborated on the cleanliness of the campground, stating it is "very clean," which is always a significant factor in the overall camping experience. Moreover, they echoed the sentiment of spaciousness, noting that the sites are "spread out enough you aren't on top of other campers." This reinforces the idea that the campground is designed to offer a sense of privacy and room to move around, even when fully occupied.
The location of Old Folks Flat Group Campground is also highlighted as a benefit. The reviewer mentioned that "the site is also just past the lake and all the offroading trails so you don't hear the ATV traffic." This suggests a strategic positioning that allows campers to enjoy the proximity to recreational areas like lakes and off-roading trails without being directly impacted by the noise associated with off-highway vehicle use. This balance of accessibility to activities and a quieter camping environment is a significant draw for families and those seeking a more peaceful retreat.
Considering its categorization under "camping near me," Old Folks Flat Group Campground clearly caters to those looking for group camping facilities in the Huntington, Utah area. Its features, such as large campsites capable of accommodating multiple vehicles and tents, proximity to flush bathrooms and water access at some sites, and a layout that provides space and separation between groups, make it an ideal choice for family reunions, large gatherings of friends, or organized group outings. The added benefit of being near lakes and off-roading trails while maintaining a relatively quiet atmosphere further enhances its appeal.
While specific details about the total number of campsites, the availability of hookups (if any), or other amenities like fire pits or picnic tables are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the information available paints a picture of a well-maintained and thoughtfully designed campground for group camping. The focus on spaciousness, cleanliness, and convenient facilities suggests that the basic needs of campers are well catered to.
In terms of promotional information, the campground's suitability for families and large groups is a primary selling point. The generous campsite sizes, the availability of flush bathrooms and water at some sites, and the spread-out layout ensuring privacy are significant advantages. The strategic location near recreational areas like lakes and off-roading trails, yet far enough to avoid excessive noise, offers a balanced camping experience. The positive feedback regarding cleanliness further enhances its appeal to those seeking a comfortable and well-maintained environment.

Old Folks Flat Group Campground Reviews
It was a good campground. We looked at satellite photos and it looked different in reality. We stayed in site 7 and had three trailers plus vehicles and 3 more vehicles. It has a large gravel parking spot. Then you could fit several tents as well. It is close to the flush bathrooms. There is water at the campsite. We enjoyed our stay. The other campsite were all full but we weren’t bothered busy other campers.
Aug 17, 2020 · Jacee HerseyGreat place for families. Very clean and spread out enough you aren't on top of other campers. The site is also just past the lake and all the offroading trails so you don't hear the ATV traffic.
Jul 14, 2020 · Kali WGreat campsite, We stayed in group site 3. It’s fairly close to a main highway, but it seems to have minimal use. It is a bit close to other campers and all are big groups so keep that in mind. All in all we enjoyed the space and the beauty around is amazing! Close to water recreation too.
Aug 14, 2021 · Rachel JonesWe stayed for a couple of nights at a large group site. Tent spaces are a little awkward since the site is on a bit of a slope. There wasn’t a ton of shade at our site and others had less. There were plenty of tables at our site. The fire pit was on a slope so that made it challenging to sit around. The bathrooms had flush toilets but the lights didn’t work. No camp host on site. No cell coverage either, which was funny since they want you to scan the QR code to pay online.Overall the site was really pretty with a mix of spruce and aspens. Cooler temps at the high elevation. Just a few minutes from Cleveland reservoir. The fire did a great deal of damage but it’s slowly recovering.
Jul 02, 2023 · Zac RichinsBeautiful camp ground, the camp ground itself is lovely! The surrounding area is sadly still burned and depressingly bare. Trees are coming back, though! Nice fire pits and eating areas, lots of shade for tents but not for RVs. There's a dry Creek bed that's pretty deep, watch your kids around it! We had over 80 people in our group and really enjoyed our time there. Nice bathrooms but not clean at all! Bring your own cleaning stuff!
