Hello US's outdoor enthusiasts! When you search for "camping near me" in US, you're often looking for a place where you can connect with nature and enjoy some leisure activities. Today, we'd like to introduce you to Oldman's Creek Campground, a destination in the United States that, based on customer reviews, offers a particularly appealing experience for those who enjoy lakeside activities and a friendly community atmosphere. Located at 174 Laux Rd, Monroeville, NJ 08343, USA, this campground seems to be a favorite for RV and trailer owners, featuring a lovely lake for swimming and clean amenities.
Just as US boasts camping spots near its beautiful lakes and coastlines, Oldman's Creek Campground provides a similar allure with its accessible and enjoyable lake. Monroeville, New Jersey, while perhaps less familiar to those in US, offers a more rural setting, and this campground appears to be a local gem appreciated for its specific features.
Environment: Lakeside Relaxation in New Jersey
The standout environmental feature of Oldman's Creek Campground, according to reviews, is its "lovely" lake that is ideal for swimming during the summer. The lake is described as being of a comfortable size, warming up quickly and not requiring a long adjustment period to the water temperature. Notably, there's a roped-off area designed specifically for younger or less confident swimmers, providing a safe space where the water is deep enough for swimming practice but shallow enough to stand if needed. The water in the shallower area is also reported to be quite clear, and friendly fish often come to swim alongside people. While the broader environment of Monroeville isn't detailed in the reviews, the focus on the lake suggests that it's a central part of the campground's appeal, offering a refreshing natural element to the camping experience.
Services and Features: Tailored for Comfort and Community
Based on the feedback from visitors, Oldman's Creek Campground offers several notable services and features:
- Lake Swimming: As highlighted, the lake is a major attraction, with areas suitable for all swimming levels, including young children. The presence of friendly fish adds a unique touch to the swimming experience.
- RV/Trailer Focus: One reviewer explicitly mentions that the campground is "best for RVs or trailers, not tents," which suggests that the facilities and site layouts are primarily geared towards accommodating these types of camping units.
- Playground and Basketball Court: For recreational activities on land, there is a small playground, which would be great for children, and a basketball court for those wanting to play some hoops.
- Clean Restrooms and Showers: The cleanliness of the restrooms and showers is specifically praised, indicating that the management prioritizes hygiene and comfort for their guests.
- Friendly and Welcoming Atmosphere: Multiple mentions of friendly and welcoming people, both staff and other campers, suggest a strong sense of community and hospitality at the campground. One person noted that "Everyone I've met is very friendly and welcoming," and another praised "Linda" for being very nice.
While not explicitly mentioned, campgrounds catering to RVs and trailers often include amenities like electric hookups, water connections, and possibly sewer hookups at the individual sites. It's also common to find a dump station for RV waste. Given the recommendation against tents, these types of infrastructure are likely present and well-maintained.

Oldman's Creek Campground Reviews
The lake is so lovely to swim in during the summer. It is small enough that the water is warm and takes very little time to adjust to. They have an area that is roped off that is perfect for younger children that are still not strong swimmers because the depth is deep enough for them to practice real swimming but shallow enough that they could stand up if needed. My daughters were 5, almost 6 last summer and they loved it. The water is quite clear in the shallower area and there are these awesome fish who will actually come and "hang out" with you. They are not aggressive at all but perhaps they are attracted to humans because they get fed by some people. I highly recommend it but it's best for RVs or trailers, not tents. They have a small playground and basketball court as well. Their restrooms are kept nice and clean as well as their showers. Everyone I've met is very friendly and welcoming.

Jul 05, 2023 · Dianna GalligarCamping here for 33 years. Great, fun place. Manager is outstanding, sweet, thoughtful, kind and helpful. Kenny and John have been maintaining the campground property for years. They work extremely hard and do one hell of a job keeping it beautiful. The activities coordinator Jessie has been keeping this place rocking for years too. She has activities for all ages that are extremely fun. I highly recommend this campground to all who love camping. They have a beautiful, white sand beach that is well kept and a beautiful lake. Also have a huge playground for kids to enjoy! They have a store that is run by Gena with fantastic foods. Come enjoy!!!
Jun 20, 2019 · Linda McKellarLinda was the best, she met my needs with trying to find a RV space for a 4 month stay during a project. The site was just right for my camper, quiet and very polite neighbors. The park was nice and clean, alittle dusty at times but overall a very pleasant stay. Linda let me arrange for my own electric through the local power company which saved me money and was very easy to hook up and disconnect, unlike some other places I stayed at. Thank you Linda!!
