ORANGE OLSEN

Orangeville, UT 84537, USA

4.0
This is a great forest service cabin. The family enjoyed it very much. However, the electricity did not work as promised. Make sure to bring an alternate light source. Also there is no fridge. The lake is beautiful and our group enjoyed fishing, bouldering, and water sports. Not really crowded, good spot to get away! - Steve G

ORANGE OLSEN Introduce

For local residents seeking a comfortable and well-equipped "cabin rental near me" experience in the vicinity of Orangeville, Utah, the ORANGE OLSEN forest service cabin presents an appealing option. Situated near a beautiful lake, this cabin offers numerous amenities that can accommodate families and potentially larger groups, making it a great spot for a getaway. While some limitations regarding electricity and security have been noted by previous guests, the overall positive feedback, including mentions of comfort, ample space, and even free WIFI, suggests that ORANGE OLSEN could be an excellent choice for those looking for a step up from traditional camping within a natural setting.

The environment surrounding the ORANGE OLSEN cabin is a significant highlight, with reviewers consistently mentioning the nearby beautiful lake. This proximity offers opportunities for various water-based activities such as fishing and water sports, contributing to an enjoyable outdoor experience. The presence of bouldering areas suggests interesting geological features and recreational opportunities for climbing enthusiasts. Being a forest service cabin, it is likely situated within a natural woodland setting, possibly with some trees providing a degree of privacy between the cabin and any neighboring dwellings. One review mentions "a few trees between the dwelling and the cabin providing some privacy," indicating that while not completely secluded, there is some separation from others. The overall atmosphere is described as "not really crowded," suggesting a more peaceful and less congested environment compared to some campgrounds or more densely packed rental areas. The nearby lake and the surrounding forest and trails offer a variety of ways to stay busy and enjoy the outdoors. The elevation and location likely contribute to pleasant temperatures during the warmer months, making it an ideal retreat from the heat.

ORANGE OLSEN offers a range of services and amenities designed to provide a comfortable stay, often described as having "all the comforts of home" with a few exceptions. The cabin features running water, a kitchen sink, and a propane stove/oven/heater/water heater, allowing guests to cook meals and have hot water. The kitchen is also equipped with dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and silverware, along with a six-place dining table. The presence of a bathroom with a shower/tub and an indoor toilet with toilet paper is a significant convenience. Solar-powered plugs and lights are available, offering a source of electricity, although one reviewer noted that the electricity did not work as promised and recommended bringing an alternate light source. Importantly, the cabin does not have a refrigerator or air conditioning. A mudroom provides a space to store outdoor gear. For communication, while there is no cell service, complimentary WIFI is provided courtesy of the local utility company, enabling WIFI calling if needed. Outside, there is a nice picnic table and a fire pit, although firewood, an ax, or a maul are not supplied, so guests need to bring their own if planning to have a fire. For larger groups, the availability of a dwelling next door offers the option to rent both simultaneously. However, security concerns have been raised regarding the digital front door lock, which lacks an internal latch or the ability to add a personal lock, and the unknown frequency of code changes.

The key features of ORANGE OLSEN include its comfortable multi-room layout, comprising a main kitchen/dining room, a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds (featuring ladders and "super comfy mattresses"), a bathroom, and a mudroom. The provision of essential kitchenware and bathroom facilities enhances the convenience of staying in a cabin setting. The inclusion of free WIFI is a significant feature in an area with no cell service, allowing guests to stay connected if needed. The proximity to the lake and nearby trails offers excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, including fishing, boating, bouldering, hiking, and exploring. The potential to rent the adjacent dwelling for larger groups expands its appeal for family reunions or multi-family trips. The solar-powered lights and plugs are a helpful amenity, although their reliability should be considered. The picnic table and fire pit encourage outdoor dining and gatherings. However, the lack of a refrigerator and air conditioning might be a drawback for some, especially during warmer months or for those needing to store perishable food. The security concerns regarding the door lock are also a notable feature that potential guests should be aware of, prompting caution about leaving valuables unattended. The limited rental window dates mentioned in one review might also be a factor for locals with flexible schedules to consider.

Promotional information for ORANGE OLSEN is not included in the provided reviews. To inquire about rental rates, availability, and any potential discounts or special offers, local users should contact the USDA Forest Service directly at the provided phone number, (435) 384-2372 or +1 435-384-2372, or visit the relevant booking platform or the Manti La Sal National Forest website. It is advisable to ask about seasonal pricing variations, any potential fees for additional guests, and the specific policies regarding firewood and security deposits. Given the mention of a limited rental window, it would be prudent to inquire about the available dates and book in advance, especially during peak seasons or holiday periods. Checking for any information regarding the reliability of the electricity and the frequency of the door lock code changes might also be helpful in making an informed decision. Some forest service cabins may have specific rules or guidelines for renters, so it's always a good idea to ask for a complete list of regulations before booking. Inquiring about the possibility of renting both the ORANGE OLSEN cabin and the adjacent dwelling together and if any group discounts apply could be beneficial for larger parties.

For local residents seeking a "cabin rental near me" that offers a blend of comfort and access to outdoor activities near Orangeville, Utah, the ORANGE OLSEN forest service cabin is a noteworthy option. With its multiple rooms, kitchen facilities, and proximity to a beautiful lake and trails, it provides a significant step up from traditional camping. The inclusion of free WIFI is a valuable amenity in an area with limited cell service. However, potential renters should be aware of the reported issues with electricity and the absence of a refrigerator and air conditioning. The security concerns regarding the door lock also warrant consideration. By contacting the USDA Forest Service directly at (435) 384-2372 or +1 435-384-2372, local users can obtain detailed information about availability, pricing, and any specific guidelines to determine if ORANGE OLSEN meets their needs for a comfortable and enjoyable forest getaway.
