Park Lake Campground Introduce
Park Lake Campground, located in Clancy, MT 59634, USA, and reachable at (406) 449-5201 or +1 406-449-5201, offers a camping experience for those seeking "camping near me" in the vicinity of Clancy, Montana. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground presents a blend of natural beauty and basic amenities, with some considerations for different types of campers. Let's delve into the environment, services, and features of Park Lake Campground to provide a detailed introduction for potential visitors.
The environment of Park Lake Campground is described as "beautiful," and it is noted to be "finally Starting to recover from The Sick trees being taken out." This suggests a natural setting that is valued for its beauty, likely featuring trees and possibly proximity to Park Lake itself. The ongoing recovery from the removal of sick trees indicates that the management is attentive to the health and aesthetics of the area. The presence of a walking path near Park Lake dam that goes for a few miles highlights the opportunity for scenic walks and enjoying the natural surroundings. Additionally, fishing is mentioned as an activity, with "small cutthroat trout" being caught, indicating the presence of a water body suitable for angling. The popularity of the location is also emphasized, with a reviewer stating, "It is a very popular place. You better get here early to get a good spot," suggesting a desirable natural environment that attracts a significant number of campers.
In terms of services, Park Lake Campground offers a more rustic camping experience, particularly for RVers. One reviewer notes that for RVs, there is "good accessibility with no water/sewer hook ups or power." This is a crucial piece of information for RV travelers, indicating that while the campground can accommodate RVs in terms of access and parking, it does not provide the full hookups often found at more developed RV parks. For basic needs, the campground offers "2 hand pump wells" for water and "multiple vault toilets." For tent campers, the campground is described as a "great camp ground," implying that the basic amenities provided are likely sufficient for a more traditional camping experience. The absence of power hookups for RVs also means that campers relying on electricity will need to be self-sufficient through generators or battery power. The mention of "city slickers up there with campers full of lights and generators" on weekends suggests that generator use is common among some RV campers, which could potentially impact the noise level for other visitors.
Features of Park Lake Campground include:
- Accessibility for both tent and RV camping: The campground caters to a range of camping preferences, offering suitable areas for both tents and RVs, although with different levels of amenities.
- Proximity to Park Lake and a walking path: The presence of a lake and a multi-mile walking path near the dam provides opportunities for recreation such as walking, hiking, and enjoying the lakeside scenery.
- Fishing opportunities: The lake supports a population of small cutthroat trout, offering a chance for anglers to fish.
- Natural beauty and recovering landscape: The campground is situated in a "beautiful place" that is actively being maintained and recovering its natural appeal after the removal of sick trees.
- Popularity and potentially social atmosphere: The campground's popularity, especially on weekends, suggests a lively atmosphere and the potential for interaction with other campers. However, this popularity also means that securing a good spot, especially during peak times, requires arriving early.
- Basic amenities: The provision of hand pump wells for water and vault toilets offers essential services for campers while maintaining a more rustic camping feel.
Based on the customer reviews, there is no mention of specific promotional information or special offers for Park Lake Campground. Potential visitors should inquire directly about any such promotions when contacting the campground.
In summary, Park Lake Campground near Clancy, Montana, offers a beautiful natural environment with opportunities for walking, fishing, and enjoying the lakeside scenery. It accommodates both tent and RV camping, although RVers should be aware that there are no water, sewer, or power hookups available. The campground provides basic amenities such as hand pump wells for water and vault toilets. Its popularity, especially on weekends, indicates that it is a sought-after location, and arriving early is recommended to secure a good spot. However, RVers needing full hookups will need to look elsewhere or come prepared for dry camping.
To get the most out of a visit to Park Lake Campground, potential campers should consider the following based on the reviews:
- Tent campers will likely find the campground well-suited to their needs, as it is described as a "great camp ground for tent camping."
- RVers should be prepared for dry camping with no water, sewer, or electrical hookups. They will need to rely on their onboard water tanks, waste storage, and power sources (like generators). The accessibility for RVs is noted as good.

Park Lake Campground Reviews
Great camp ground for tent camping. For RVs it’s good accessibility with no water/sewer hook ups or power. There are 2 hand pump wells and multiple vault toilets. Beware on weekends, close to town, lots of city slickers up there with campers full of lights and generators. Walking path near Park Lake dam goes for a few miles. Fishing was ok, no problem catching small cutthroat trout.

Oct 08, 2024 · Lyle AtkinsonBeautiful destination, but it has been severely trampled on by people.Lots of little pieces of garbage everywhere and even worse: this year the graylings are dying in mass so there’s dead fish everywhere, including the water.
