Parkside Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Middleville, Michigan area, Parkside Campground, located at 2430 Briggs Rd S, Middleville, MI 49333, USA, offers a camping experience with both positive developments and areas for potential consideration. You can contact them at (269) 205-2259 or +1 269-205-2259 for inquiries.
Based on recent customer feedback, Parkside Campground appears to be undergoing positive changes and improvements. One long-term visitor, who has stayed at the campground a couple of times each season for the past three years, highlights "several great improvements" made to the park annually. Notably, their most recent experience included being impressed by the addition of "little cabins" and an overall cleanup of the campground. This cleanup involved clearing trees and removing a fence, which resulted in a more "inviting" appearance upon arrival.
A significant upgrade mentioned by this reviewer was the "updated bath house," described as "very nice and clean." This improvement is often a crucial factor for camper comfort and satisfaction. The positive feedback from a returning guest suggests that Parkside Campground is actively investing in enhancing its facilities and the overall guest experience. This positive trend may be appealing to local users looking for a campground that is continuously improving.
However, it is essential to present a balanced view based on all available feedback. Another recent review recounts a significantly negative experience involving a cabin booking. This guest booked a rustic cabin through the campground's reservation site, received a confirmation email, and signed the check-in form. Upon arrival, the office was unattended, and phone calls went unanswered, leading to a message instructing the guest to email for a reply.
The subsequent email response informed the guest that their stay was refunded because the campground was closed and the staff were unsure how the reservation was made. This left the guest without accommodation, hours away from home, with winter weather approaching. The reviewer also noted that after reading other reviews (though not provided in this prompt), they were "not surprised anymore" by this experience. This incident raises concerns about the reliability of the reservation system and the responsiveness of the management in certain situations.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment of Parkside Campground seems to be one that is actively being improved, with efforts towards cleanliness and the addition of new accommodations like the little cabins. The removal of trees and a fence suggests an attempt to create a more open and welcoming entry to the campground. The updated bathhouse indicates a focus on providing more comfortable and hygienic facilities for guests.
In terms of services, Parkside Campground offers cabin rentals, as highlighted in both reviews. The first review mentions "little cabins," while the second specifically booked a "rustic cabin." This suggests that the campground provides cabin options in addition to traditional campsites, catering to different preferences for accommodation. The presence of an updated bathhouse is a significant service improvement, providing clean and modern facilities for guests.
The features of Parkside Campground appear to be evolving. The addition of cabins expands the types of lodging available. The cleanup efforts and the updated bathhouse contribute to an improved overall experience. The fact that a guest has returned for multiple seasons over three years suggests that the campground offers some consistent appeal, likely including a pleasant natural setting in the Middleville area.
However, the negative review points to potential issues with the reservation system and customer service in certain circumstances. This is a crucial factor for local users to consider when planning a stay. It might be advisable to contact the campground directly by phone to confirm reservations and ensure all details are accurate.
Promotional information is somewhat limited but can be inferred from the positive review. The addition of "little cabins" can be seen as a promotion of new accommodation options. The emphasis on the "overall clean up" and the "updated bath house" suggests that the campground is highlighting these improvements to attract visitors. The returning guest's enthusiasm for the upcoming season and their anticipation of staying again serve as a positive endorsement.
On the other hand, the negative review does not offer any promotional aspects and instead serves as a cautionary tale regarding potential booking and communication issues. Local users might want to weigh this experience against the positive feedback about the improvements.
To provide a more comprehensive understanding for local users searching for "camping near me," further information about the campground's environment (e.g., wooded areas, open spaces), other services (e.g., RV hookups, tent sites, fire pits, picnic tables, laundry facilities, recreational areas), and specific features (e.g., trails, lake or river access, planned activities) would be beneficial. This missing information could be obtained by directly contacting Parkside Campground.
In conclusion, Parkside Campground in Middleville, MI, appears to be a campground that is actively undergoing improvements, with positive feedback regarding new cabins and updated facilities like the bathhouse. A returning guest speaks highly of these changes and looks forward to future stays. However, a significant negative experience with a cabin booking raises concerns about the reliability of the reservation system and customer service in certain situations. Local users considering Parkside Campground for their "camping near me" search should be aware of both the positive developments and the potential for booking and communication issues. Direct contact with the campground is recommended to obtain the most current information and to confirm reservations.

Parkside Campground Reviews
I have stayed at the Campground a couple times a season for the past three years. Each year there have been several great improvements to the park. This last season I was most impressed with the little cabins that had been added and the overall clean up of the campground itself. Trees cleared and a fence was gone . It looked very inviting when you drove in. I have to the most impressive part was the updated bath house. Very nice and clean that was so nice to experience. We are looking forward to this next season and can’t wait to stay again.
Feb 20, 2025 · Christy SmithI booked a rustic cabin away from home for a few days to heal from a loss. Got a conformation email back that I was booked and signed the check in form. When I showed up, nobody was in the office. I rang their phone, no answer but a message stating to email them for a reply. I emailed, stating I was a bit early, but was hoping to check in. I only got an email back refunding the stay and a statement that they are closed and are unsure how I was able to make the reservation. (I used their reservation site and got a confirmation email from them.) I was left without a place to stay, hours away from home, with winter weather approaching. After reading the other reviews I'm not surprised anymore.
Feb 06, 2025 · Maggie SmithGot yelled at to slow down at 7 mph so idles around the camp ground at 4 mph had to wait for 5 min just so kids would shift off the road (camp bi laws). Respectfully did that and got yelled at again for idling to campsite (2 campsites down. Dogs were off leashes our dog (on a leash) almost got attacked (mine is a Cain Corso). Positive note they have great wood prices and will deliver it with just a text. Couldn’t see the camp store to late in the season but offered to open it if needed.
Oct 23, 2024 · Steven EliasLeft early after paying for 3 nights. Almost cult like environment. The office staff was great. The seasonal campers were rude and unfriendly. Did not feel like a safe place. Would not recommend.
