Jones Lake Campground Introduce
For local residents in and around Delton, Michigan, searching for "camping near me," Jones Lake Campground, located at 6800 Stevens Rd, Delton, MI 49046, USA, offers a lakeside setting with potential for fishing, according to one customer review. However, recent feedback also raises significant concerns regarding the campground's amenities, pricing, and reported incidents of racism.
The environment of Jones Lake Campground is centered around Jones Lake, and potentially other connected lakes, as one reviewer mentioned "great fishing with all the lakes connected." This suggests a waterfront location that could be appealing to anglers and those who enjoy being near water. The specific natural landscape surrounding the campground is not detailed, but being in Michigan, it likely includes a mix of woodlands and the typical lake scenery of the region. The potential for multiple connected lakes could offer opportunities for boating or exploring different fishing spots. However, one concerning review describes a decline in the campground's overall quality over five years.
Based on the limited customer reviews, the services and amenities at Jones Lake Campground appear to be a point of concern for at least one recent visitor. This reviewer, who had been camping there for five years, stated that "everything went down hill fast" and cited a "lack of amenities" and that "everything is out date." This is juxtaposed with the "outrages pricing" mentioned, suggesting a discrepancy between the cost and the perceived quality of the facilities. The positive review focused solely on the fishing aspect and did not comment on the campground's amenities. No specific details about the types of campsites (e.g., RV hookups, tent sites), bathroom facilities, or other common campground amenities are provided in the reviews. The lack of mention of standard amenities in the negative review implies that they may be substandard or lacking. To obtain accurate information about the services offered, including campsite details, hookups, bathroom facilities, and any other amenities, local users should contact Jones Lake Campground directly using the provided phone numbers, (269) 623-8860 or +1 269-623-8860. Given the conflicting feedback, direct inquiry is crucial to understand the current state of the campground's services.
The features of Jones Lake Campground, based on the limited reviews, include its location with access to Jones Lake and potentially connected lakes, which is highlighted as a positive for fishing enthusiasts. However, a significant and deeply concerning feature mentioned in one review is the alleged tolerance of racism at the campground. This reviewer recounted racial comments and slurs directed at their child by an adult, and claimed that when they tried to address the situation with the owners, they were informed they were not welcome back. This is a severe accusation and a critical piece of information for potential visitors to consider. The reviewer also mentioned the outdated nature of the facilities, which stands in contrast to the pricing they described as "outrages." The lack of positive comments about general campground features beyond the fishing suggests that these may not be a strong point. The stark contrast between the positive mention of fishing and the serious allegations of racism and poor amenities paints a complex and concerning picture of the campground.
Currently, no promotional information is included in the provided text. Given the serious negative feedback regarding the campground's condition and the alleged tolerance of racism, it is difficult to speculate on any positive promotions they might be offering. Local users considering this campground should prioritize obtaining detailed information about the current state of the amenities and the campground's policies regarding discrimination and guest behavior. Any promotional offers would need to be weighed against the significant concerns raised in the recent review. Direct contact with the campground is essential to understand their response to the issues raised and to inquire about their current offerings and pricing.
For local residents searching for "camping near me" in the Delton, Michigan area, Jones Lake Campground offers a location with lake access and potentially good fishing. However, it is imperative for potential visitors to be aware of a recent review detailing significant issues, including a perceived lack of updated amenities despite high pricing and, most seriously, allegations of tolerated racism, including racial slurs directed at a child. This review claims that the owners did not address the racist behavior to the reviewer's satisfaction and subsequently told them they were not welcome back. While one review praised the fishing, the other paints a concerning picture of the overall campground experience. Local users should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering a stay at Jones Lake Campground. Direct contact to address the serious concerns raised in the negative review is strongly advised.
In conclusion, Jones Lake Campground in Delton, Michigan, offers a lakeside location with potential for fishing. However, recent customer feedback includes serious allegations of racism being tolerated by the owners, as well as complaints about outdated amenities and high pricing. Local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of these significant concerns and are strongly advised to contact the campground directly to seek clarification and understand their policies and the current state of their facilities before making any decisions about staying there.

Jones Lake Campground Reviews
Awesome campground great fishing with all the lakes connected
Apr 17, 2025 · Sherman DunnAfter five years of camping at Jones Lake Campground everything went down hill fast, lack of amenities, everything is out date despite the outrages pricing, and the upmost disrespect as RACISM is NOT corrected and TOLERATED. To add to this the racial comments and slurs were directed to my CHILD from an ADULT. When I tried to handle this situation, the owners enlightened me that I am not welcome back, which all in all is fine as I will not subject my child to racism! Truly unfortunate that in today’s society we still can’t bring our child to enjoy something so much as camping because of racial hatred. Absolutely unacceptable that such behavior is tolerated here!
May 31, 2024 · Christy DavisI've never been but they are first to come up in my area for tent camping. I'm a working female that is going to be homeless in days. I call and explain my situation. Response " Oh no we don't allow that" THEN DON'T ADVERTISE IT!!! I'm not homeless because I don't pay my bills. I'm homeless because the owner sold property. If someone, anyone reads this Thank You for taking the time. God Bless
May 28, 2022 · Meagan McLaughlinReally nice people. It is definitely not for overnights, though. The spaces are very small and extremely difficult to access. The hookups are only for water and electric, with a per-fee honey wagon twice a week. This campground is more for people who want to have a long-term trailer by the lake, 20 feet or less long, ideally. The owners will help you get set up, we hear. Nice folks. Also, you may need an electric adapter to plug 30 amps into a 20-amp outlet.
