The emphasis on safety and the approachable nature of the staff provides a sense of security for all campers, including those who may be camping alone.
The natural environment surrounding Whispering Waters Campground is consistently praised. Asking about the types of camping sites available (e.g., tent, RV), the facilities provided (e.g., restrooms, showers, fire pits), and any specific events planned during the camping season would be beneficial for local users in making their decision. The positive feedback regarding the new ownership's commitment to a family-friendly environment is also a significant factor for those camping with children.
In conclusion, Whispering Waters Campground offers local users a compelling option for "camping near me," characterized by its beautiful river and woodland setting, direct access to the Paul Henry Trail for hiking, a strong sense of community fostered by events, and a safe and welcoming atmosphere under new, family-friendly ownership. Whispering Waters Campground Reviews
I stayed here from Juneish to September 2024 and it was a great experience. I was mostly camping alone and I never felt the slightest bit unsafe. Matt and Shelly and the rest of the campground staff were kind and so extremely helpful. They offer services like you get at one of the fancy RV parks but the whole atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and there's no camper envy. There were no creepy guys (a concern for a woman camping alone!) and if there were I would have felt completely comfortable asking any of the staff for support. The grounds and the area around are beautiful and there are lots of hidden gem wildernessy areas; it's like actual camping. The river is beautiful and the woods are peaceful. The Paul Henry trail starts right there and you can hike it for a very long way. They do a good job of building community there with all of the events and social opportunities, but if you want to be a loner that is fine too and there is no pressure. There are a couple of cool secret spots; this old bridge over the river at the very beginning of the Henry trail; and this monument to Native Americans that's kind of hidden away.

Apr 10, 2025 · Pamela ParkerI delivered a camper to Whispering Waters Campground in Hastings today and was very pleasantly surprised by their facilities! The owner, Matt, was very kind and courteous upon my arrival. He took the time to personally take me to the site and gave me great directions to assist with the back up and positioning of the camper. Their facilities and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Overall, a great place that I would recommend to anyone!
