Tyler Creek Golf Course & Campground Introduce
Welcome, local residents and outdoor enthusiasts, to Tyler Creek Golf Course & Campground, a versatile destination located at 13495 92nd St SE in Alto, Michigan. For those searching for "camping near me" that offers more than just a campsite, Tyler Creek presents a unique combination of recreational opportunities, blending the relaxation of camping with the option of a round of golf. While the golf course aspect has recent feedback indicating a decline in condition, the campground itself offers a welcoming atmosphere, particularly noted for its new, on-site owners who are described as very nice and dedicated to improving the park.
The campground at Tyler Creek appears to be undergoing a revitalization under its new ownership. Recent reviews highlight a positive shift, with one visitor specifically mentioning that the previous owner was not as present, leading to potential neglect. The current owners are actively on-site, fostering a more attentive and caring environment for guests. This renewed management seems to be making a tangible difference in the overall experience for campers.
Families with children will find Tyler Creek Campground to be a suitable choice, as it is described as having "plenty of room for the kids to play." This suggests open spaces where children can run around, engage in outdoor activities, and enjoy the freedom of a camping environment. The presence of a dedicated play area further enhances its appeal for families, providing a safe and fun space for younger visitors to stay entertained.
Pet owners will also appreciate Tyler Creek's welcoming attitude towards furry companions. The campground is noted as being "very kid and dog friendly," indicating that your four-legged family members are likely to be comfortable and well-received here. This is a significant advantage for those who enjoy traveling with their pets and want a local camping option where their animals are welcome.
Adding to the positive community feel, a reviewer mentioned that the year-round residents at the campground were also a "nice bunch." This suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere among the campers, which can greatly enhance the overall experience for short-term visitors. Feeling like part of a community, even for a brief stay, can make a camping trip more enjoyable and relaxing.
Beyond the campground amenities, Tyler Creek's unique feature is its on-site golf course. However, it's crucial for potential visitors to be aware of recent feedback regarding the golf course's condition. Reviews from the past year indicate a significant decline from its former state. Players have noted erratic fairways, poorly maintained paths, ponds that appear unsanitary, greens with grass clippings and roller marks, and the disappearance of sand traps. The value for money has also been questioned, with reviewers suggesting that there are "much nicer places to play for around the same cost." Additionally, concerns have been raised about the condition of the golf carts.
Considering the mixed feedback, it's important to differentiate between the campground experience and the current state of the golf course. While the campground seems to be improving under new ownership and offers a family-friendly and pet-friendly environment with space for kids to play, the golf course is currently not recommended based on recent reviews. If your primary interest in Tyler Creek is camping and enjoying a welcoming community atmosphere, then it may still be a viable option for you.
The location in Alto, Michigan, provides a local getaway for those in the surrounding areas. While specific details about the natural environment of the campground itself are limited in the provided reviews, the mention of space for kids to play suggests some open, potentially grassy areas. The proximity to Boulder Ridge Animal Park, which was "highly recommended" by one visitor, adds to the local attractions that campers might find appealing. This suggests that while staying at Tyler Creek, you could also explore other nearby points of interest, enhancing your overall trip.
For those specifically searching for "camping near me" with a focus on a clean and friendly RV park, Tyler Creek appears to be meeting these criteria under the new management. The positive comments about cleanliness and the welcoming nature of both the owners and the long-term residents are encouraging signs for the campground aspect of the property.

Tyler Creek Golf Course & Campground Reviews
New owners are on site and are very nice. It sounds like the previous owner was not on site and milked the park for money. We enjoyed our stay after a stop at the nearby zoo (highly recommend the Boulder Ridge Animal Park). This RV park was clean and had plenty of room for the kids play. Very kid and dog friendly. The customers who stay year round were also a nice bunch. We will return if we need a place to stay near Alta again.
May 07, 2023 · Jeremy LongacreTyler Creek WAS one of the nicest golf courses around. But that was ~10 years ago. Just played 9 holes and it was barely worth the $20 it cost. Fairways are erratic and paths cut(with a mower) through the ruff. Ponds look like sewage. Greens have grass clippings and deck roller marks. Sand traps are completely gone. This course has fallen so far from the beautiful place I used to play. Golf carts seemed in disrepair as well.In Short:Pros: it’s cheap and not very busyCons: It’s not a nice course to play any more. You don’t even get what you paid for value wise.Just be aware there are much nicer places to play for around the same cost.
Jun 24, 2023 · Josh ReynoldsI had to visit today to just jog my memory from childhood's past. I think it still looks as amazing as it always has!!! Can't wait until I camp here again♡♡♡
May 30, 2020 · Candace Eve LadyCandyland MooreFirst time ever playing Tyler Creek Golf Course, and for the price, you can't beat it!! This is getting a 4 out of 5 stars course. Tyler Creek definitely could be a 5 star course after their updates to greens for next season 2025. Overall, it was a pleasant time golfing for a buddy and I to play 9 hole. This course may show up as an 18 hole course. However, it was many years ago and is only a 9 hole now. Tee boxes and fairways were nicely maintained. Some green were in rough shape, still playable but rough. The very nice woman that checked us in, let us know even before paying. Great time overall, and I will be back to play this yr and at least next yr to see the updates!
