Pasa-la-coma Recreation Camp, situated on Girls Camp Rd in Firth, ID 83236, USA, comes highly recommended by its visitors as a wonderful and clean campground with a variety of enjoyable features. Based on the enthusiastic reviews, this camp offers a delightful escape for individuals, families, and especially groups, providing a blend of natural beauty and excellent facilities.
The environment at Pasa-la-coma Recreation Camp is described as both nice and quiet, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The presence of a pond adds to the scenic charm and offers opportunities for swimming or canoeing, promising refreshing enjoyment during warmer months. A particularly popular feature seems to be the creek, complete with a rope swing that has kept children and perhaps even adults entertained for hours on end. This natural playground element suggests a family-friendly atmosphere where outdoor fun is readily available.
The campsites themselves are well-appointed, featuring great tent pads, ensuring a comfortable and dry base for your overnight stays. Additionally, each campsite is equipped with nice pavilions. These pavilions likely provide shade and shelter, offering a communal space for cooking, dining, and gathering, regardless of the weather. This thoughtful amenity enhances the camping experience, making it more convenient and enjoyable for everyone.
One aspect that consistently receives high praise is the quality of the bathrooms. The reviews specifically mention that the bathrooms were "awesome," indicating that they are likely clean, well-maintained, and perhaps offer amenities beyond basic expectations for a campground. Access to good bathroom facilities can significantly impact the overall comfort and satisfaction of campers, especially for families and groups.
A unique feature of Pasa-la-coma Recreation Camp, which many might see as a significant benefit, is the limited cellphone coverage. In today's digitally connected world, the opportunity to disconnect from electronic devices is increasingly rare and valued. The reviewers noted that their sons were "forced" to disconnect, leading to a more immersive and present camping experience. This digital detox can foster deeper engagement with nature, family, and fellow campers, contributing to a more relaxing and memorable getaway.
Beyond individual and family camping, Pasa-la-coma Recreation Camp appears to be particularly well-suited for group outings, especially for women's and youth groups. One review specifically mentions its suitability for such groups, highlighting the presence of two amphitheaters, an assembly hall, and a pavilion. These facilities suggest the camp can comfortably accommodate larger gatherings and provide spaces for meetings, performances, and communal activities. The inclusion of archery as an activity further indicates a focus on providing structured recreational opportunities for groups.
The mention of flushing toilets and showers reinforces the idea of a well-maintained and comfortable campground, especially appealing for groups that may prefer more convenient amenities. However, it's important to note a specific detail regarding power availability. The power at Pasa-la-coma Recreation Camp is reportedly only on for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening. This is crucial information for campers who rely on electricity for medical devices, charging electronics, or other needs. Planning accordingly will be essential for a comfortable stay.
The camp is maintained and overseen during the summer by two couple missionaries. This suggests a dedicated and caring presence on-site, ensuring the smooth operation of the campground and providing assistance to visitors. Knowing that there are responsible individuals managing the property can add to the sense of security and well-being for campers.
