The environment at Pass Creek Campground is a significant draw. It is situated on the northeastern shore of Jackson Meadow Reservoir, at an elevation of approximately 6,100 feet. The campground is nestled in a dense stand of pine and fir trees, offering ample shade and a true forest feel. Visitors are consistently awarded beautiful views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain, creating a picturesque backdrop for your camping experience. The atmosphere is generally described as "quiet," making it perfect for relaxation and enjoying the sounds of nature. This serene setting contributes greatly to the overall positive camping experience, allowing campers to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
A notable feature that sets Pass Creek Campground apart is the presence of an "amazing" camp host, often specifically mentioned as "Lauren." A good camp host significantly enhances the visitor experience by providing assistance, maintaining the campground, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. This personal touch is highly valued by campers and contributes to the campground's positive reputation. The campground offers several single-family campsites, each typically equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring for cooking and evening gatherings. Importantly, the campground provides flushing toilets and drinking water, which are significant conveniences for campers. There is also a boat ramp directly at Pass Creek Campground, providing easy access to the reservoir for water activities. A designated swim beach is also located nearby, offering a safe and enjoyable area for swimming. It should be noted that utility hookups, showers, and telephone service are generally not available at this location, encouraging campers to embrace a more rustic, disconnected experience. Promotional information for Pass Creek Campground often highlights its excellent facilities and recreational access. Reservations are highly recommended for Pass Creek Campground, especially during peak season, as spots can fill up quickly. Reservations can typically be made through the national reservation system by calling 1-877-444-6777 or visiting Recreation.gov. It's often possible to book up to six months in advance, and for high-demand weekends, reservations may be filled on the first day they become available. While there are 30 campsites, only a percentage (e.g., 30%) may be reservable, with others being first-come, first-served, which means arriving early, particularly on weekends, is crucial for securing a spot if you don't have a reservation. The campground is generally open from late spring (usually by June, when snow has melted) through early autumn (typically October), depending on weather conditions. While one review mentioned the water being turned off late in the season, this is common for high-elevation campgrounds as they prepare for winter. Pets are welcome at Pass Creek Campground but must be kept on a leash, and owners are expected to clean up after them. Campers should also be mindful of quiet hours, typically from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., to maintain the peaceful atmosphere that visitors cherish. The presence of a dedicated camp host like Lauren further assures a pleasant and well-managed stay, making Pass Creek Campground a consistently highly-rated choice for those searching for a perfect blend of tranquility and outdoor adventure.

Pass Creek Campground Reviews
Amazing campground with nice camp host. Quiet and right bye the lake!
Sep 16, 2024 · Dominic CecchettiLauren the camp host is amazing. The site had the water turned off this late in the season
Oct 10, 2023 · Brien PrescottBeautiful Camping Spot! Fresh air, clean, and full of adventurous fun!
Jul 21, 2019 · Lacey NickersonCancelled my reservation at the last minute due to "winter damage" and left us with no other options. Unapologetic and rude. We had 6 camp spots, no way to find a new place in that time. We came to see any way and there was no reason to cancel, all of our spots were clear with only some pine needles begging to be swept.
Jul 15, 2023 · Shane SanClementeSpent 9 days here, loved that there's no cell service for about 40 miles. It's great to disconnect! The area is beautiful, but difficult to get a spot. Don't plan to drop in on a weekend, even tough during the week, camp was full most of the week. Tent campers and small trailers only. Tough to get big rigs in and most sites would not allow slides to pop out. Small kayak and fishing lake are close, it's nice and quiet.
