Pearch Creek Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me"? Pearch Creek Campground, located in Orleans, CA 95556, USA, reachable by phone at (530) 627-3291 or mobile at +1 530-627-3291, offers a camping experience in Northern California. Based on available customer reviews, the campground presents a mix of positive natural attributes and some potential social considerations for local users.
Environment:
The environment of Pearch Creek Campground is described by some visitors as "pretty" with "nice shade" and "cool nights." One reviewer noted that at night, all you can hear is the water and the crickets, suggesting a peaceful and natural ambiance. The campsites are reported to be not close together, implying a degree of space and privacy between camping parties. The presence of a nearby water source, presumably Pearch Creek itself, contributes to the natural soundscape and potentially offers opportunities for enjoying the water. The campground is situated within a forest setting, as indicated by the mention of "forest service stoves," suggesting a wooded environment with natural beauty. However, one review from the summer of 2017 mentions some concerning social dynamics within the campground, which might affect the overall feeling of ease and safety for some visitors.
Services:
Services at Pearch Creek Campground appear to include forest service stoves, which one reviewer found "incredible." Another positive mention is of a "super nice" camp host, with specific praise for a lady and her companion Miguel, who were described as "very nice and helpful." One review also notes that most sites have their own water faucet and even an oven to cook over, which would be a significant convenience. Pit toilets are likely the restroom facilities in such a setting. However, the earlier review from 2017 mentions a camp host who, while described as "nice," did not make the reviewer feel entirely at ease. This suggests that experiences with the camp host might vary. Overall, the provided information indicates the presence of essential camping facilities and at least one instance of a very helpful camp host.
Features:
Key features of Pearch Creek Campground include its natural setting with nice shade and the soothing sounds of water and crickets at night. The spaciousness of the campsites, which are not close together, offers a sense of privacy. The presence of individual water faucets and ovens at most sites is a notable convenience. The proximity to Pearch Creek likely provides a natural attraction and possibly some recreational opportunities. However, it's important to acknowledge the less positive aspects mentioned in one review, including encounters with other campers asking for money or rides, and concerning situations observed at another campsite. While these seem to be isolated incidents reported by one visitor in 2017, they are part of the available information and should be considered. The later review from 2020 paints a more positive picture of quiet enjoyment and helpful hosts.
Promotional Information:
For local users seeking "camping near me" and valuing a quieter natural environment with spacious sites, Pearch Creek Campground could be appealing. The positive aspects highlighted in the 2020 review, such as the peaceful nights with the sounds of water and crickets, nice shade, clean sites, individual water faucets, and a very helpful host, suggest a potentially pleasant experience. If you appreciate a more rustic and nature-focused camping trip with these amenities, Pearch Creek might be worth considering. However, it's also prudent for potential visitors to be aware of the less positive experiences reported in an earlier review. It might be beneficial for local campers to contact the campground directly at (530) 627-3291 or +1 530-627-3291 to inquire about current conditions, the camp host situation, and any recent feedback from other campers to get a more up-to-date perspective. If tranquility and natural beauty are your priorities, and you are prepared for potentially variable social dynamics, Pearch Creek Campground offers a forest camping experience in the Orleans area. Keep in mind that experiences can differ, and the more recent review is notably positive regarding the quiet and the helpfulness of the hosts.
In summary, Pearch Creek Campground offers a natural environment with spacious, shaded campsites and the soothing sounds of the creek. While one older review raises some social concerns, a more recent review highlights the quiet atmosphere and helpfulness of the camp hosts. Local campers seeking a potentially peaceful "camping near me" option with individual site amenities might find Pearch Creek Campground worth a visit, with the recommendation to perhaps inquire further about the current atmosphere.

Pearch Creek Campground Reviews
We stayed in the summer of 2017. It was pretty for sure, the forest service stoves were incredible. But when we got there a camper asked us for $ almost immediately, another for a ride to town (which my husband gave him and was threatened when he got there by some other folks hanging out), at another site there was a poor toddler running around in nothing but a dirty diaper all weekend getting yelled at constantly. The host was nice, but I never felt at ease with him. Another camp host up the way remarked that it was brave of us to stay there, so it seemed to have a reputation already. We were not welcome, so wouldn't be back in respect of the place & it's campers.
Nov 20, 2019 · Laura BarsayLoved it quiet all you can hear at night is the water and the crikets, nice shade and cool night. Sites are not close together nice and clean, fire pit,and most have own water faucet and even in oven to cook over. The host super nice I didn't get the ladys name but her and her companion Miguel are very nice and helpful i hope to go back again sins we got evacuated due to wild fire. Sep 2020
Sep 09, 2020 · Eve eveSecluded, quiet, peaceful, serene.. A very nice campground. We went there for two nights and only one other camper was there. We stayed in site #10, which was not far away from the other sites like it was shown on the map, in fact #10 is right in the middle of the campground. Still very nice and quiet. Ann and Mike the camp hosts were very nice and hospitable. Anything you need they are right there to help. Be aware there is no internet. All services do not work. We had to travel to the local tribal clinic and use their WiFi to make a call. Still worth it in the end.
Jun 10, 2021 · Jennifer NewtonGiving it three stars because of the beauty, but unfortunately as of the time of posting this the campground is closed. The hosts left and the gates are locked. I would recommend camping at Dolan's Bar by the Klamath River, maybe just 1/4 of a mile further north. There is a bathroom there but no other amenities that Pearch Creek provides. I made a reservation online because it's still available on Recreation.gov so I will be calling them so they will unlist it. It's beautiful there so hopefully it will reopen in the near future.
Nov 30, 2021 · Daniel McGuireAnn and Mike were great gave me lots of information about other camp sites. The camp grounds were clean and quiet! Will definitely recommend staying there.
