Pinedale Tent Dry Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Pinedale, Wyoming area, particularly those who prefer tent camping and appreciate a no-frills, quiet environment, Pinedale Tent Dry Campground presents a straightforward and convenient option. Located at 204 S Jackson Ave in Pinedale, this campground focuses on providing essential amenities for tent campers seeking a basecamp for exploring the region or attending local events.
As the name suggests, Pinedale Tent Dry Campground primarily caters to tent camping and is described as a "dry campground." This typically implies that individual campsites may not have direct hookups for water, electricity, or sewer, which is consistent with the amenities mentioned in the customer reviews. However, the campground does provide essential facilities to ensure a comfortable stay for tent campers.
According to a recent visitor who stayed for two nights in a tent, the campground offers a designated campsite, access to water, a bathroom facility (described as a "pot-a-potty" that was noted to be "very clean"), and trash cans for waste disposal. These basic yet crucial amenities provide the necessities for a simple and enjoyable tent camping experience. The availability of clean facilities is a significant plus, as highlighted by the positive feedback regarding the cleanliness of the portable toilet.
One of the standout features mentioned in the reviews is the peaceful and uncrowded atmosphere of Pinedale Tent Dry Campground. The visitor who stayed for two nights specifically noted that it was "not busy, and quiet," which can be a significant advantage for campers seeking a tranquil retreat away from more bustling campgrounds. This quiet ambiance allows for a more immersive experience with nature and a restful night's sleep under the stars.
The positive interaction with the campground management is also noteworthy. The reviewer mentioned speaking with the manager, Jeff, and described him as "very helpful and nice." This suggests that guests can expect friendly and accommodating service during their stay, which can greatly enhance the overall camping experience. Having a helpful point of contact can be particularly valuable for visitors unfamiliar with the area or needing assistance with campground-related inquiries.
The review also provides context for why this campground was chosen. The visitors had been trying for three months to secure a campsite at one of the nearby lakes but were unsuccessful due to unavailability. Pinedale Tent Dry Campground served as a viable alternative, providing a place to stay while they were in town for the Midnight on the Mesa charity race. Their positive experience at the campground led them to conclude that "This is a great place to stay" and prompted a "Thank you to the town of Pinedale," indicating satisfaction with both the campground and the local area.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective regarding the campground's policies, particularly concerning group rates for non-profit organizations. A user reported being "very disappointed" that the campground would not offer a discounted rate for a large Scouts group planning to stay one night with approximately 50 tents. The campground's refusal to "budge on the $10 per night per tent" for a non-profit organization like the Scouts led to this negative feedback. This suggests that the campground may have a fixed pricing policy that does not readily accommodate group discounts, even for non-profit entities.
Despite this point of contention regarding group rates, the overall impression of Pinedale Tent Dry Campground, based on the available reviews, is that it offers a clean, quiet, and conveniently located option for tent campers in Pinedale. Its provision of essential amenities like water, a clean portable toilet, and trash disposal, coupled with a helpful manager, makes it a practical choice for individuals and small groups seeking a simple and affordable camping experience.
The campground's location in Pinedale itself is also a benefit, providing easy access to the town's services, shops, and attractions. While the campground focuses on basic tent camping, its proximity to Pinedale allows campers to conveniently access supplies or explore the local area. This balance of a simple camping environment with town amenities nearby can be appealing to many travelers.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" who are specifically looking for a tent-only campground in Pinedale, Wyoming, Pinedale Tent Dry Campground offers a no-frills yet functional option. Its clean facilities, quiet atmosphere, and helpful management are highlighted as positive aspects. While the campground may not offer discounted rates for large non-profit groups, it serves as a reliable and convenient base for tent campers seeking a peaceful stay while exploring Pinedale and the surrounding region. If you prioritize simplicity, cleanliness, and a quiet camping environment, Pinedale Tent Dry Campground is worth considering for your next outdoor adventure in the area.

Pinedale Tent Dry Campground Reviews
We stayed at the Pinedale Tent Dry Campground for 2 nights (in a tent). The campground offered a campsite, water, bathroom (pot-a-potty, very clean), and a trash can. It was not busy, and quiet. We spoke to the manager, Jeff and he was very helpful and nice. We would definitely stay here again. We had been trying for 3 months to get a campsite at one of the lakes nearby, and we're unable to secure one. We were there for the Midnight on the Mesa charity race (which was very good). We stayed in a hotel the first night we were there. We enjoyed our time in Pinedale. This is a great place to stay. Thank you to the town of Pinedale.
Jul 21, 2024 · lynette johnsonWanted to have a large Scouts group stay one night with about 50 tents. They would not budge on the $10 per night per tent. Very disappointed that they were unwilling to cut a non profit org like the scouts a deal.
Aug 24, 2024 · Chris RuleGreat for car campers, micro camper, tent and vagaon outdoor folks! Super cheap at $10 a night! Clean port-a-potty. Self-checkin. We got in a midnight on a Friday with no issues. Great first night of our honeymoon!
Jun 10, 2017 · Sarah Dunn PhillipsWe didn't camp here but paid for a shower, water, and trash on our camping trips in the area. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of room for trash. Water hook up was wide open and easy to get an RV close.
Aug 04, 2016 · MT BlakeIt's a big, open field with a large, clean porta-john. Pay at the booth (honor system, don't be that guy), set up your tent. Little noisy from the highway, so consider bringing earplugs.
