Piney Bay Campground Introduce
Are you a local resident seeking a picturesque "camping near me" experience with the added charm of a lakeside setting? Piney Bay Campground, located at Private Rd 2720 in London, AR 72847, USA, appears to be a popular choice among campers. While overwhelmingly positive, recent customer reviews also provide valuable insights into the environment, services, and features of this campground, allowing local users to make informed decisions when planning their next outdoor adventure within the "camping near me" platform category.
The environment of Piney Bay Campground is consistently described as "awesome" and "beautiful," with specific mention of its lakeside location. This suggests that local users can anticipate stunning waterfront views and direct access to the lake for various recreational activities. The opportunity to take "amazing photos by the lake" highlights the scenic beauty of the area, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape. One reviewer noted the ease of walking to the swimming area from campsite G9, indicating that some campsites offer convenient access to water-based fun. The presence of picnic tables by the lake suggests designated areas for enjoying meals amidst the natural beauty. While one review mentioned the absence of a direct concrete path to these tables, the low grass was noted as acceptable, indicating an effort to maintain the grounds. For local users prioritizing a lakeside environment for their "camping near me" experience, Piney Bay Campground seems to offer a delightful setting.
In terms of services, Piney Bay Campground appears to offer online reservations, which one reviewer specifically praised for making it "a breeze" to secure a desired spot. This suggests a convenient and efficient booking process for local users planning their trips. The mention of a "camp host" who was described as "amazing" indicates the presence of on-site staff dedicated to ensuring a positive camping experience. While the reviews don't explicitly detail amenities like restrooms or showers, the positive overall sentiment suggests that essential services are likely available. However, it's always advisable for local users to confirm the availability of specific amenities such as water hookups, electrical access, and waste disposal facilities when making their reservations or by contacting the campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (479) 885-3029 or the mobile number +1 479-885-3029.
Several features of Piney Bay Campground are highlighted in the customer feedback. The presence of a lakefront undoubtedly stands out as a primary feature, offering opportunities for swimming, photography, and enjoying the water's edge. The campground also seems to have a park area, which includes swings. However, one reviewer pointed out a potential safety concern with the "Red Swing," where a child hit her head on the support bar, suggesting that local users with young children should be aware of this issue and exercise caution. The mention of a "secluded" atmosphere by one reviewer indicates that Piney Bay Campground might offer a more private and peaceful camping experience compared to busier locations, which could be a significant draw for local users seeking tranquility within the "camping near me" category.
Another notable feature, albeit a negative one, is the presence of dog poop in the park area. One reviewer explicitly advises others to "watch your step" due to this issue, indicating that pet owners might not be consistently cleaning up after their animals. This is an important consideration for all local users, especially those with children who might be playing in the park area. Additionally, one reviewer with mobility issues (bad knees and using a cane) suggested the addition of wood stairs leading up to campers, implying that some campsites might be on elevated or uneven terrain. While this didn't detract from their overall positive experience, it's a factor that local users with similar mobility challenges might want to inquire about when booking a site.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional details for Piney Bay Campground. Local users interested in "camping near me" at this location might want to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about any seasonal discounts, local resident rates, or special offers that might be available. It's also worth asking about potential discounts for longer stays or for specific types of campsites. Checking the campground's website or any social media pages they might have could also provide information on promotions or upcoming events. Given the positive reviews and the apparent popularity of the campground, it's advisable for local users to inquire about availability and pricing when planning their trips.
The overall sentiment from the reviews suggests that Piney Bay Campground offers a fantastic lakeside camping experience that many local users would appreciate. The beautiful environment and the ease of online reservations are significant positives. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues, such as the safety concern with the swing in the park and the presence of dog poop in that area. Additionally, those with mobility challenges might need to inquire about campsite accessibility. Despite these minor drawbacks, the positive feedback regarding the campground's beauty, peacefulness, and the helpful camp host indicates that it remains a highly recommended "camping near me" destination for local outdoor enthusiasts.
For local users planning a "camping near me" trip to Piney Bay Campground, the key takeaways from the reviews are its stunning lakeside environment, the convenience of online reservations, the generally peaceful atmosphere, and the helpfulness of the camp host. However, it's important to be mindful of the potential safety issue with the park swing and the reported problem with dog waste in the park area. Those with mobility issues should also inquire about campsite accessibility. By considering these factors and perhaps contacting the campground directly for more details, local residents can prepare for a potentially wonderful camping experience at Piney Bay Campground.
In conclusion, Piney Bay Campground near London, AR, offers a beautiful lakeside setting that is highly praised by visitors, making it an attractive option for local users seeking "camping near me." The convenience of online reservations and the presence of a helpful camp host add to its appeal. However, potential campers should be aware of the reported issues concerning the park swing and pet waste in the park area, as well as potential accessibility challenges for those with mobility issues. By taking these points into consideration and perhaps contacting the campground for more specific information, local residents can look forward to a potentially "awesome" and fun-filled camping experience at Piney Bay Campground.

Piney Bay Campground Reviews
What an awesome campground! We took amazing photos by the lake, too! Though, there are a few things that weren't so awesome.[1] The Picnic Tables by the lake didn't have a direct path to them. It would've been nice to be able to walk to the picnic tables on a concrete path, but it was fine! The grass was low. [2] At the park, there was a minor issue with the "Red Swing". I was pushing my 2 sisters, and a little girl that they befriended while they where swimming, (the park is right on the water) and I wasn't pushing them very high cause I didn't want them to get hurt... Well the little girl hit her head on the bar that held up the swing. All girls where in the range from 7-9. If they could lift up the bar just by a foot or two, that would be great. [3] At the park, you best watch your step. There is dog poop almost everywhere you look. [4] We had a member of our group that has to use a cane. (Had bad knees) It would be nice if they could add wood stairs leading up to your camper. Other than that, it was awesome! We all had so much fun! You can walk to the swimming area from campsite G9 (were we where) and we had a blast!
May 28, 2024 · ChristenBeautiful secluded campground! We had such a fun weekend. I dont think there is a quieter, more peaceful campground in the area. The camp host was amazing, and the online reservation made reserving the spot we wanted a breeze!
Mar 17, 2025 · Benjamin PortmanNice quiet campground. The pad was somewhat level - it was on the side of a hill. The comfort station was quite a walk. It seemed to be a half mile away. But, hey there is a comfort station with very good showers. Witnesses the 2024 Eclipse here, so it will always be a special place to us.
Apr 20, 2024 · Alan & Celia MooreVery pretty. Restroom near the back of the park seems new and is very well taken care of. Every. Single. Site. On E loop is a vertical rappel. If you are in an RV and are new or challenged with leveling blocks (like me) things are going to get exciting. The rest is rather leveling. No hiking. Restroom by A loop with the boats is beat up bad and feels more like a horror movie. Views are amazing. If you do not come with a boat, not much to do but relax and watch the water (which was fine with me this trip!).
Apr 22, 2022 · Steven HollandI really love this place... it’s absolutely amazing, beautiful and clean... my adventure was amazing!!! I did my reservations and payment online... the restroom had hot water, it’s not the more beautiful bathroom but was ok... was an incredible experience!!! The most beautiful sunset!!!
