Lonesome D Horse Camp Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the scenic landscapes of Arkansas? If you're an equestrian enthusiast looking for a unique camping experience, Lonesome D Horse Camp in New Blaine, AR, might have once been a consideration. Located at 776 Cravens Ln, 72851, this campground was seemingly designed with horse lovers in mind, potentially offering a space where you could combine your passion for camping with your equine companions.
Lonesome D Horse Camp's listed contact information includes a phone number, (479) 938-2899, and a mobile phone number, +1 479-938-2899. These details suggest a way to get in touch with the campground for inquiries about availability, amenities, and specific needs, especially if you were planning to bring horses.
Based on its name, the campground's primary feature appeared to be its suitability for horse camping. This typically implies the presence of certain amenities tailored to equestrians, such as hitching posts for securing horses, open areas or paddocks for grazing (though this is not explicitly stated), and potentially access to trails suitable for horseback riding in the surrounding area of New Blaine, Arkansas.
However, it's crucial to consider some recent feedback from individuals who have visited or attempted to visit Lonesome D Horse Camp. Several reviews paint a concerning picture of the current state of the campground. One reviewer mentioned a significant decline in the camp's condition, stating that the bathrooms were not functional and that the entire camping area was littered with trash. This suggests a potential lack of upkeep and maintenance, which could significantly impact the overall camping experience.
Adding to these concerns, another reviewer recounted an unsettling experience involving being chased by dogs belonging to the "ground takers." They also noted a lack of assistance or apology from the campground management regarding this incident. Such an event raises questions about the safety and management of the property, particularly concerning interactions with animals on or near the premises.
Furthermore, the issue of overgrown trails was highlighted, which could be a significant drawback for those hoping to enjoy horseback riding or even hiking in the vicinity of the campground. Difficulty navigating trails due to overgrowth can detract from the overall outdoor experience and potentially pose safety hazards.
Another point of concern raised by a potential visitor was the difficulty in getting a return phone call after multiple attempts over two weeks. This lack of communication can be frustrating for those trying to make reservations or gather essential information before traveling to the campground. Similarly, another individual who drove to the location with horses found the property not well-kept, lacked marked trails, and reported not seeing anyone on site. This lack of visible management and unclear trail markings could create significant challenges for visitors, especially those unfamiliar with the area.
Considering this recent feedback, local users searching for "camping near me" should exercise caution and potentially seek alternative campgrounds in the New Blaine, Arkansas area. While Lonesome D Horse Camp may have once offered a unique experience for horse owners, the recent reviews indicate significant issues with maintenance, safety, and management that could severely impact a camping trip.
When looking for campgrounds, especially those catering to specific needs like horse camping, it's always advisable to seek out the most up-to-date information and reviews from multiple sources. Checking online forums, camping directories, and local equestrian groups can provide a broader perspective on the current conditions and services offered at various campgrounds in the region.
For those specifically interested in horse camping in Arkansas, it would be prudent to research other established and well-maintained equestrian campgrounds that have received positive recent feedback. These alternatives are more likely to provide the necessary amenities, safe environments, and accessible trails for a more enjoyable and worry-free experience with your horses.
In conclusion, while Lonesome D Horse Camp's name suggests a welcoming environment for equestrians seeking "camping near me" in New Blaine, Arkansas, the recent customer experiences indicate a need for significant improvements in maintenance, safety, and management. Potential visitors should carefully consider these reviews and perhaps explore other camping options in the area to ensure a positive and safe outdoor adventure.

Lonesome D Horse Camp Reviews
The camp has gone downhill. Bathrooms are not functional. The entire camp area is litered with trash. One of our riders & mules was chased by the ground takers' dogs. They didn't offer to help or get their dogs or apologize. Trails are getting grown up. It's so sad to see this falling apart.
