Pleasant Lake Campground Introduce
Are you searching for the ideal camping escape close to home? Look no further than Pleasant Lake Campground, nestled at 65 Wigwam Rd, Pennellville, NY 13132, USA. This charming campground offers a delightful retreat for local users seeking a blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and engaging activities. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a weekend getaway, or a peaceful solo adventure, Pleasant Lake Campground provides a welcoming environment for all.
As a featured option in the "camping near me" category, Pleasant Lake Campground stands out for its picturesque setting and comprehensive facilities. The campground boasts a prime location with easy access to the shimmering waters of Pleasant Lake. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of nature, with the opportunity for a leisurely stroll to the lake for fishing, kayaking, or a refreshing swim. The short walk to the water is a significant advantage, allowing campers of all ages to easily enjoy the lakeside activities.
For those seeking comfortable lodging, Pleasant Lake Campground offers the option to rent three well-maintained cabins. These cabins provide a cozy home away from home, perfect for families or groups wanting a more structured accommodation. According to enthusiastic visitors, renting all three cabins for a week has become a cherished annual tradition, highlighting the campground's appeal for extended stays and multi-family gatherings. The strategic positioning of the playground right in the backyard of the cabins ensures that children have a safe and convenient space to play and burn off energy.
Pleasant Lake Campground understands the importance of convenience during your outdoor adventure. The presence of well-maintained bathrooms located right next to the playground adds to the ease and comfort for families with young children. Moreover, staying connected is made simple with the availability of WiFi, allowing you to share your memorable moments or attend to any necessary online tasks. The on-site camp store is another invaluable amenity, stocked with a wide array of essentials and treats. From refreshing cans of soda and classic s'mores ingredients to practical items like lighter fluid, firewood, ice, bubbles, flashlights, first-aid supplies, and batteries, the camp store ensures you have access to necessities without having to leave the campground.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere of Pleasant Lake Campground is consistently praised by its visitors. The owners, a friendly husband and wife, along with their hospitable adult son, are dedicated to ensuring a pleasant stay for every guest. Their genuine care and helpfulness contribute significantly to the positive experience reported by campers. Adding to the charm of the campground are the beautiful gardens tended by the wife, creating a visually appealing and serene environment. The presence of chickens and roosters provides a unique and delightful attraction, particularly for children who enjoy observing the farm animals.
While overwhelmingly positive, some honest feedback from past visitors provides a balanced perspective. For the past couple of years, the campground has experienced a bee issue. However, it's important to note that these have been identified as carpenter bees, where the males are incapable of stinging, and the females will only sting if directly provoked. Additionally, one guest reported experiencing spider bites, a reminder that the campground is situated within a natural woodland environment where such occurrences are, to some extent, expected. The management's accommodating nature shines through in their efforts to ensure guests have the environment they desire, highlighting their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Pleasant Lake Campground is particularly lauded as a fantastic family getaway. The organized activities, such as crafts and water balloon events for children, have been a big hit, creating memorable experiences and fostering a sense of community among the young campers. The reasonable pricing of the campsites further enhances the value proposition, making it an accessible option for families seeking an affordable outdoor adventure. While one visitor noted a minor drawback with the bathrooms, they also acknowledged that the responsibility for cleanliness often lies with the campers themselves, suggesting that this is not solely a reflection of the campground's maintenance efforts.
In summary, Pleasant Lake Campground offers a compelling option for local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that combines natural beauty with convenient amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. From comfortable cabin rentals and well-equipped campsites to engaging activities and a helpful staff, this campground provides the essential ingredients for a memorable getaway. The short walk to the lake, the convenience of the camp store, and the family-friendly features like the playground and organized events make it an ideal choice for a variety of campers. While minor natural occurrences like carpenter bees and spiders have been noted, they are generally considered part of the outdoor experience and are addressed by the attentive management. Pleasant Lake Campground Reviews
Love this place!!! We rent all 3 cabins for a week once a year (one year we went twice). My in-laws come too. We love the short walk to the water, the ability to fish, kayak, swim, take nature walks is awesome AND the playground is literally positioned in the back yard of the cabins. The bathrooms are right next to the park. Taking a break from the busy demands of life but still having the convenience of WiFi and camp store is awesome! The camp store has cans of soda, s’mores ingredients, liter fluid, wood, ice, bubbles, flashlights, first-aid items, batteries, and so much more. The owners are a super friendly husband and wife and their adult son is always so hospitable and helpful! The wife has many beautiful gardens! They also have chickens and roosters that the kids enjoy watching! If I had to give cons- they have had a bee problem for the past 2 years BUT they are carpenter bees… which males don’t sting and females will only stk g if provoked. Secondly, this year my 12 month old daughter and I suffered nasty spider bites. But we ARE in the woods… this to some level is to be expected.
Jun 02, 2024 · Sarah FoxThe staff is very accommodating and helped make sure we had the environment around us we were looking for. There were many kids, and our girls had a blast during their crafts and water balloon event. It made the weekend go great! Our campsite was priced well, and we had everything we needed. A slight drawback was the bathrooms, but the blame mainly falls on the campers that don't show courtesy in how they use it. We do highly recommend this as a family getaway that is not too far off the beaten path.
Jun 29, 2022 · Joshua RamsdellAlways a great time at Pleasant Lake. Beautiful area, small lake so you don't need to worry about boat traffic, very friendly people, great fishing, kayaking, etc. Have stayed in tents mostly but also used a cabin in the past. We made the best of it depsite the rain. They have a little something for everyone. We will definitely be returning!
Aug 08, 2023 · ErinI have never felt so welcomed to a campground in my life! First time here and it was a blast. Owners are super nice and helpful with anything and I mean anything. We stayed in cabin 2 July 5th through the 7th. They are quaint but homey. Comes with dorm fridge heater if the nights get cold. You have a picnic table and a nice fire pit. Restrooms just behind cabins and small playground for the kiddos. Showers are O.K. The lake was amazing. Friday was bingo super fun! Fireworks on Saturday. Every person was super friendly, didn't even know half the campers, but they all would say hi and chat. Love love loved it. The owners are very interactive and helpful. If we had a slight issue they were right on it Alvin&Don. I would recommend this place 1000%. Will be added more pics of this wonderful campground. This was the first of many more visits 🤗
Jul 08, 2024 · Ericka VarreMy family and i stayed here for a week in our tent, at first everything was fine, but then we had to buy our own cleaning supplies to clean the showers with because of low maintenance. The guy at the office accused my youngest sister of walking through people's campgrounds and claimed she admitted to it then when she talked to him he told her he didnt, no handicap access at all! The only nice thing my family and i have to say about this place is the people who keep their campers and rvs here are very nice.
