North Bay Campgrounds Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Fulton, New York area? North Bay Campgrounds, situated at 925 Phillips St, Fulton, NY 13069, USA, presents a camping option with a distinct character. You can contact them at (315) 592-2256 or +1 315-592-2256 to inquire about availability and details.
Based on recent customer feedback, North Bay Campgrounds appears to offer a mixed experience. One reviewer described it as "a different type of breed," indicating that it might have unique characteristics that deviate from typical campgrounds. This review raised concerns about the condition and security of the bathrooms, noting that they were reportedly meant to be locked with a code but were not. Additionally, this reviewer mentioned hearing negative feedback about a new person managing the campground, although they had not personally interacted with this individual. The reviewer also noted the absence of "prime spots" and mentioned that the campground is primarily run by campers and owned by the city of Fulton. Their overall assessment was simply "it's okay here."
In contrast, another recent visitor expressed significant satisfaction with their experience at North Bay Campgrounds. They specifically highlighted the enjoyable fishing opportunities and the beauty of the sunsets as major positives. Furthermore, this reviewer commended the office staff, BobiJo and Dallas, for their exceptional kindness and attentiveness. They mentioned that BobiJo and Dallas checked in on them and their family multiple times to ensure their well-being and offer assistance. This positive interaction with the staff contributed significantly to their positive impression, and they stated their definite intention to return the following summer.
Considering these contrasting reviews, North Bay Campgrounds seems to offer a location with natural appeal, particularly for those interested in fishing and enjoying scenic sunsets. The positive feedback regarding the friendliness and helpfulness of the office staff suggests that some aspects of the service are commendable and can greatly enhance the camping experience. The mention of the campground being primarily run by campers and owned by the city might indicate a more community-oriented or perhaps less formally managed environment compared to privately owned campgrounds. This could appeal to campers seeking a more laid-back atmosphere.
However, potential visitors should also be aware of the concerns raised about the bathroom facilities and the reported negative feedback regarding the new management. The comment about the bathrooms not being up to par and lacking the promised security measures is a practical consideration for campers who prioritize clean and secure amenities. The second-hand information about the new management's demeanor, while not a direct personal experience of the first reviewer, might also be something to keep in mind.
The lack of "prime spots" mentioned in one review could imply that the campsites are fairly uniform or that the selection might be limited. This might not be a significant issue for all campers, but those with specific preferences for site location or features might find this relevant.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Fulton, NY, North Bay Campgrounds presents an option with both advantages and potential drawbacks. The opportunity for fishing and enjoying beautiful sunsets are clear attractions. The positive interactions with the office staff, as highlighted by one reviewer, suggest a welcoming and supportive service from at least some of the personnel. The community-driven aspect of the campground might also be appealing to certain campers.
However, the reported issues with the bathroom facilities and the negative remarks about the new management are factors that potential visitors should consider. It might be prudent to inquire about the current status of the bathroom amenities and any recent changes in management when contacting North Bay Campgrounds. This will allow prospective campers to make a more informed decision based on their individual needs and preferences.
In summary, North Bay Campgrounds in Fulton, NY offers a camping experience with notable highlights such as fishing and scenic views, coupled with friendly service from the office staff according to one account. However, potential campers should also be aware of the reported concerns regarding the bathroom facilities and management. It is recommended to contact North Bay Campgrounds directly at (315) 592-2256 or +1 315-592-2256 for the most up-to-date information and to determine if it aligns with your camping expectations. Weighing the positive aspects against the potential drawbacks will help local users decide if North Bay Campgrounds is the right "camping near me" for their next outdoor adventure.

Aug 02, 2024 · Suzanne Marsh (SuzeeQ)Was very happy with this Campground. Had a great time fishing and the sunsets were beautiful. BobiJo and Dallas the office workers were such nice people. They came by a couple times to make sure I was okay and if me or my family needed anything. Definitely will be back next summer.
Oct 16, 2023 · DebThis place is run by the seasonal campers. Stayed here for two nights. I was told we were getting a prime lakefront spot with electric. Was not told to be there by a certain time. Arrived after 6. They were closed. Had no idea of a site number. A seasonal camper helped us by calling the office person. Did not get the site were were told we were getting and found out the next morning,Dallas admitted he never wrote our name down. Which , kudos to him for admitting it. We also had to witness the seasonal camper have a confrontation with a man who was apparently making a speed bump in the road with stones. He was so angry she came down the road he was working on he threw his rake and shovel. Drove his golf cart into the weeds while yelling at each other. We later find out they are husband and wife. Then Saturday night they have speed poker or something and drinking games. They were trying to do karaoke. SCREAMING into the microphone until midnight. We went to the bathroom and the same man asked us if they were bothering us so we said YES and this is ridiculous. He stated they were celebrating a 60th birthday to which I only responded well too bad it happened to be the weekend we came here. So they put the drunk women in a golf cart with the karaoke machine, still blaring , and yelled at us as they were passing “ we are moving the party” and they went to another section of the campground only to come back at 2AM and continue to talk loudly for 30 min. Also the golf carts apparently do not have to adhere to the 5 mph rule and gets worse as the drinking goes on.The city puts no money into the facility either. Bath house is really run down. Only positive thing to say is the man who was working the office the next day was courteous and friendly.
Jul 23, 2023 · Marianne HamiltonIf I could give anything lower than 1 star I would. Do not book! Look elsewhere! We booked an RV site one week in advance knowing that we were going to be driving 8 hours to New York for a Dr appointment so my wife could see a specialist. My wife booked the site but they never gave us a lot number. When booking the site my wife said we wouldn’t be getting there till after 5pm and they reassured us someone would be there. The day of travels we were calling all day and never got an answer. So we arrived just after 5, the office was closed with no one around. Luckily one of the seasonal campers knew the owner and called her and to put us in a site. The lady escorted us back to a grassy area in the corner of two converging roads that was all sloped, nowhere close to remotely level. She said “You can park anywhere in here, water and electric are right behind that other RV.” It was clear they never actually put us on a reserved site and this was an attempt to save face. After trying every different angle and approach trying to get somewhat level and close enough to the hook up, 2 hours later we ended up having to be fairly close to another camper. After getting level and unhooking from the truck a fella came out and told us we couldn’t park there and would have to move. All this in the pouring down rain. Long story short we didn’t stay here, booked a campground 20 minutes away. The photos on the website and online are not indicative of the actual campground. Even in the pouring rain you could smell the marijuana in the air. Do not book!
Aug 11, 2023 · JesseWe had a great weekend! I would've given it 5 stars but, I feel like the bathrooms could be updated. The City of Fulton could put a little more money into the campground lots also.
