Based on the reviews, the Promised Land State Park Beechwood Camping Area offers a camping experience within a "really nice park" known for its natural beauty and a large lake. The environment is described as "quiet," particularly at the end of August, suggesting a peaceful retreat into nature. The park itself offers a variety of activities, including a beach for swimming, kayaking, and hiking, indicating a setting rich in outdoor recreational opportunities. While the lake might not be directly accessible for all activities from the Beechwood camping area itself (one review mentions accessibility mainly for fishing from their location), the proximity to the larger park amenities is a significant draw.
The services and features of the Beechwood Camping Area, according to the customer reviews, include:
- Campsites: The lot spaces are generally "all good" and equipped with "modern electricity hookups," which is a significant convenience for those with RVs or needing to charge devices. While individual water hookups are not available at each site, there are "a few taps that can be accessed by the majority of the sites."
- Restroom Facilities: One reviewer gave the bathrooms an "A+" rating, indicating they are well-maintained and clean. Another reviewer noted that the "bathroom facilities are showing their age a bit" but are still "quite serviceable." This suggests that while not brand new, the restrooms are generally adequate.

However, direct lake access from the Beechwood camping area might be limited, with one reviewer noting it was mainly for fishing from their location. The beach area is mentioned as being "crowded" as it is a public day-use area.
- Hiking: The park offers hiking trails, though one reviewer noted that they involve "a lot of tree roots and rocks," which might be something to consider for those with mobility issues or a preference for smoother trails.
- Quiet Atmosphere: The Beechwood campground is described as quiet, making it appealing for those seeking a more tranquil camping experience.
- Amenities Within Driving Distance: Basic amenities are available, though they might be a short drive from the Beechwood camping area.
- Cell Service and Wi-Fi: It's important to note that "cell service is spotty at best, and there is no WIFI," which could be a plus for those wanting to disconnect but a challenge for those needing to stay connected.

Promised Land State Park Beechwood Camping Area Reviews
Quiet camping the end of August in Beechwood campground. Amenities are within driving distance. Beach and swimming is crowded as it is a public day use area. Lake was not accessible from our location except for fishing. Hiking is a lot of tree roots and rocks. Bathrooms are an A+
Aug 27, 2024 · RetirementIt's a really nice park. The grounds are kept, and the lot spaces are, for the most part, all good with modern electricity hookups. While each site does not have its own water hookup, there are a few taps that can be accessed by the majority of the sites. There is lots to do nearby with the large lake, dam, a beach for swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more. The only slight negative is that the bathroom facilities are showing their age a bit. But they are still quite servisable. Cell service is spotty at best, and there is no WIFI
Jul 26, 2023 · Joshua QuinnOur RV had no issues getting in or out. We unhooked our car at the Park office. Check in was ok, not the friendliest people, kind of like you were a bother. Think it was just this person.Nonetheless, Lower lake camping very nice. Nice green spaces between sites, sites level, no internet. Didn't really mind, It was actually nice to unplug. Went bike riding, down to lake, hiking on nice trails and around the park. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained, as was the park. Rangers drove by a few times, felt safe.Neighbors dog NEVER stopped barking during the day into the evening. Looked like a Labrador Retriever, not sure, barked at everyone that passed by thier site. Then this same dog, who was not leashed, went after another dog, who was on a leash, going for walk with its owner. The irresponsible owner finally was able to get thier dog off the leashed dog. This kind of freaked me out about leaving my site to go bike riding or walking. I carried mace with me in case the owner was irresponsible again, leaving the dog off the leash. Will definitely be back, really beautiful!
Jul 28, 2024 · MaryHad a pleasant stay. Staff was great and friendly and answered any questions in a nice manner. One child or childish person did make a mess in the mens bathroom. It would get cleaned up and he would go back in and do it again. Staff did try thier best to be on top of it though. Too bad they couldn't find out who it was. Other than that everything else was great!
