Quakertown Campground Introduce
Seeking a peaceful camping experience close to home? If your search for "camping near me" has led you to Liberty, Indiana, Quakertown Campground, located at 3506 W Quakertown Rd, Liberty, IN 47353, USA, offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. You can reach them at (765) 647-2657 or +1 765-647-2657 for inquiries and potential booking information. This campground, situated near Brookville Lake, presents a quieter camping environment characterized by its wooded campsites and proximity to outdoor recreational activities.
The environment at Quakertown Campground is often described as beautiful and tucked away in the woods. This setting provides a sense of seclusion and tranquility, ideal for those looking to escape the more crowded and open camping areas. Imagine setting up your tent surrounded by mature trees, enjoying the shade and the natural sounds of the forest. The change of seasons brings its own charm to the campground, with the vibrant greens of summer transitioning to the rich colors of fall, as noted by a recent visitor who enjoyed a long weekend in late September.
In terms of services, it's important to note that Quakertown Campground primarily offers electric-only campsites. This means that while you'll have access to electricity for your camping needs, water and sewer hookups are generally not available at most sites within Quakertown itself. For campers requiring full hookups, it's worth considering "The Mounds" area, located on the south side of the lake, as mentioned by a reviewer. The facilities at Quakertown are reportedly clean and well-maintained by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), ensuring a comfortable and hygienic experience for campers.
One of the key features of Quakertown Campground is its quieter atmosphere, particularly when compared to other nearby camping areas like The Mounds. This makes it an attractive option for those seeking a more peaceful and less family-centric environment. If you appreciate a serene setting where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature without the bustle of a busy campground, Quakertown might be the perfect fit for you.
For boating enthusiasts, Quakertown Campground offers a boat ramp providing access to Brookville Lake. However, it's crucial to be aware of a significant no-wake zone that extends from the Quakertown boat ramp to the open lake. This long no-wake zone might be a consideration for those planning extensive boating activities, as it could impact travel time to and from the main body of the lake.
Based on recent customer feedback, it appears that the check-in process at Quakertown Campground might sometimes involve checking in at another campground location. One visitor recounted an experience where they had to drive a 40-minute round trip to check in because no one was available at the gate. They also noted difficulties with online reservations and the lack of a self-check-in option for walk-ins. This suggests that it might be advisable to call ahead using the provided phone numbers to confirm the check-in procedures and availability, especially if you are planning a same-day arrival or are unable to reserve online beforehand.
Another point of feedback from a visitor was the perceived lack of privacy at some campsites, which were described as being close together on a large lawn without much separation. If privacy is a high priority for your camping experience, it might be beneficial to inquire about specific campsite locations when making your reservation or upon arrival, if possible. The reviewer who enjoyed the wooded setting likely found sites that offered more natural screening.
Considering the available information, Quakertown Campground offers a natural and potentially tranquil camping experience for those who appreciate a wooded environment and electric-only hookups. Its proximity to Brookville Lake provides opportunities for boating, although the no-wake zone is a factor to keep in mind. While the campground is lauded for its cleanliness and quieter atmosphere, recent feedback suggests potential challenges with the check-in process and campsite privacy in certain areas. It is recommended to contact the campground directly at (765) 647-2657 or +1 765-647-2657 to get the most up-to-date information on reservations, check-in procedures, campsite availability, and any current promotional offers that might be available to local users. By doing so, you can better prepare for your "camping near me" adventure at Quakertown Campground and ensure a more seamless and enjoyable experience.
While no specific promotional information was available in the provided text, it is always a good idea to inquire about any seasonal discounts, weekday specials, or other promotions when you contact Quakertown Campground. Local campgrounds often have offers tailored to residents or for specific times of the year. Reaching out directly is the best way to discover any potential cost savings for your camping trip.

Quakertown Campground Reviews
Got here just to be told by the camp host we had to drive a 40 minute round trip to check in at the other campground since no one was working the gate and the camp host couldn’t help us. We weren’t able to go online to reserve as we first didn’t have any reception, but then also the campsites were all listed as walk ins for same day and the day after. Drove 20 minutes to the next campground to check in and there was no one working there either so we gave up. Why have a walk in system if you’re not able to do self check in and pay in a box or online for same day arrival? Also both campgrounds were pretty boring with sites right next to each other on a big lawn without any privacy.
Apr 29, 2025 · Sofia TalvikThis was our first trip to Quakertown campground. We went for a long weekend at the end of September so weather just starting to change from summer to fall. Beautiful campground if you like being tucked away in the woods. Very clean facilities kept up by DNR. Most sites are electric only so if you're looking for full hookup you need the Mounds on the south side of the lake. Quakertown is quieter with less children than the mounds. However if you're a boater there is a very long no wake zone leading from Quakertown's boat ramp to the open Lake. We will definitely be back to Quakertown.
Sep 24, 2024 · Tom IttnerAlways a good time and location to get away and recharge. This trip was with our 12 y/o grandson. Enjoying fishing from the fishing pier, cooking over the fire, and making memories. He was happy and wants to go longer than just a weekend now. Park, facilities, bath house were all clean, and well kept. Campground was quiet and enjoyable. This was not our first time at Quakertown. One of our favorite SRAs.
Jun 27, 2022 · Darin JesterIt's a nice quiet and clean campground but there is a shooting range nearby. The toilets and showers are very clean. There's a fair amount of trees for shade when it's warmer. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings. However, some of the picnic tables are quite small.
May 07, 2018 · Melissa BubashIt's a quiet campground. Very peaceful. The bathroom and shower house could use improvement. Otherwise, I would've given five stars. The lake is not a short walk away. Google Maps is not to be trusted getting you to the front gate. It will take you past it, then onto a one lane road. Not fun pulling a camper!
