Red River Gorge Campground Reviews
Absolutely beautiful property! Very clean, porta toilets were clean and Tim the host was very kind in helping me pick the perfect spot for shade. He delivered firewood and checks on things periodically to make sure things are going smoothly and safely. I highly recommend this campground and will visit again. Unfortunately my stay was cut short due to a storm rolling in.
Aug 01, 2024 · Christina MonhollenThis campground is ideal if you enjoy primitive riverfront camping and want a base camp relatively close to the Red River Gorge scenic loop. The spots are scattered along a sand riverbank bed with fire rings. There are 3 port o potties very clean. You should probably bring everything you need. The owner Tim is an extremely nice man and provides helpful information. I loved that there was so much space and that I was basically alone and felt very safe camping here. I highly recommend this great value campground for exploring the Red River Gorge geological area!
Mar 22, 2025 · R CGreat campground. We asked for a riverfront site and they gave us a gorgeous site right on the River. Sites a large and spaced out with a picnic table and fire ring. We didn’t explore the property as we only spent 1 night but what we saw was well maintained. The owners are great, they helped with car issues and offered hiking recommendations. I’d go back without hesitation next time we visit the gorge.
Sep 06, 2022 · Jessica DeckerGreat place to camp away from the crowds! Great hosts and very friendly! Was shaded, which was good cause it was hot out. Just need a place to shower, but it's primitive, so it was fine. Would camp there again for sure.
Jul 12, 2023 · Brandon R.We have been here multiple times and every time its been a blast! Everyone is friendly and the lady's at the cabin that check you in are awesome! They sell wood for $10 a bundel and $20 a bundle which is way better there then in town. They have 3 ponds you can fish ( catch and release). A river you can swim in some spots are great for small children and shallow enough they can stand up in. ( I have a 5 and 7 year old) . Its only 10 a night per person and 12 and under are free!! Highly recommended!
