Some of the most awful people I've had the displeasure of coming in contact with. My trucks new radiator sprung a leak and the engine overheated. I ended up being stuck on the road outside of this place to let it cool down. I attempted to go to their office to ask if it was okay if i could grab a few gallons of water but they were closed, figuring it wouldn't be a big deal i started to fill up a gallon out front(water came out yellow and unusable so i was pouring it out) and they come out screaming at me. I apologise and offer to pay for a couple of gallons of water. They just scream at me to leave. I don't see how owners this rude stay in business. They have no business running a business being that much of aholes. After reading the other reviews they seem to treat most people this way. As a local to the area they make our county and people look bad. There are plenty of better campgrounds in the area, this one should be avoided. The way they screamed at me i would have assumed they were tweakers. Look at the other reviews, these people are dangerous and unhappy people. I wouldn't be surprised if they snapped and shot someone in the future for something petty you'll risk your life staying here with these monsters. WHEN they go out of business i will not feel bad. There's no way you can treat people like they do and stay in business for a long time. Owner says he takes care of his stuff when i asked if he his vehicle has ever overheated. Obviously by these reviews he doesn't take care of his campground and customers very well. This sh1thole camp ground is literally on the side of a busy highway. - Armando Morales

As a local user searching for "camping near me" in the Wilderville, Oregon area, Redwood Hwy Campground, located at 13370 Redwood Hwy, Wilderville, OR 97543, USA, is one potential option that may appear in your search results. They can be contacted at (541) 476-6508 or +1 541-476-6508.

To provide a detailed and unbiased overview for local campers, it's crucial to consider the experiences of previous visitors, as reflected in online reviews. These firsthand accounts offer valuable insights into the environment, services, and overall atmosphere of the campground.

Several customer reviews present a concerning perspective on Redwood Hwy Campground. A recurring theme in the feedback is negative interactions with the campground owners. Multiple reviewers describe instances of what they perceived as rude, hostile, and unprofessional behavior. One particularly troubling account details a situation where a traveler whose vehicle had broken down sought water and was allegedly met with aggressive behavior and told to leave the premises. This reviewer goes on to strongly recommend that others avoid this campground, suggesting that the owners' conduct is detrimental to the local community's image.

Another review echoes the sentiment of severely lacking customer service and further alleges disturbing behavior, including the owner reportedly walking around the property in minimal clothing, intruding on campers' spaces, and discharging firearms at various times of the day and night. The reviewer uses strong language to advise against staying at the campground, even comparing it unfavorably to conditions in a "third world country."

Beyond issues of customer interaction and behavior, there are also allegations concerning the campground's financial practices. One reviewer claims to have been unfairly charged for a deposit and accuses the owner of double-billing for utilities, suggesting potentially illegal business practices. This review also mentions the use of a specific type of agreement ("extended stay option agreement") in a manner that the reviewer believes is an attempt to circumvent state and federal laws.

Furthermore, serious accusations have been made regarding the owners' treatment of specific groups, namely disabled individuals and veterans. If these allegations are substantiated, it would be a significant ethical concern for any potential visitor, especially those who identify with these communities.

Finally, the physical location of the campground itself has been mentioned as a potential drawback. One reviewer notes that Redwood Hwy Campground is situated directly alongside a busy highway. This location could lead to significant noise pollution, potentially detracting from the peaceful and relaxing experience often sought when "camping near me."

For local users actively searching for "camping near me," it is imperative to carefully consider these reported experiences. While individual online reviews should be viewed as subjective accounts, a consistent pattern of negative feedback, particularly concerning fundamental aspects such as customer service, safety, ethical business conduct, and the overall environment, should give potential campers pause.

Given these concerns, local residents in the Wilderville, Oregon area who are looking for "camping near me" would be well-advised to explore alternative campgrounds in the vicinity. Josephine County and the surrounding region likely offer other camping options with more positive reputations and a greater focus on providing a welcoming and satisfactory experience for their guests. Thorough research and comparison of other local campgrounds, taking into account factors such as location amenities, pricing structures, and recent customer feedback, would be a prudent step in ensuring a more enjoyable and reliable camping trip.

In conclusion, while Redwood Hwy Campground is geographically an option for local users seeking "camping near me," the publicly available customer reviews highlight significant issues related to the owners' behavior, customer service standards, safety considerations, and business practices. Therefore, local campers are strongly encouraged to weigh this information carefully and consider exploring alternative campgrounds in the area to maximize their chances of a positive and secure outdoor experience.
