Look no further than Renfro Valley KOA Holiday, situated at 184 KOA Campground Rd, Mt Vernon, KY 40456, USA. As a part of the well-respected KOA (Kampgrounds of America) network, Renfro Valley KOA Holiday provides a reliable and enjoyable camping experience for a variety of travelers, from those seeking a simple overnight stop to families planning an extended vacation.
Nestled in the scenic landscape of Kentucky, Renfro Valley KOA Holiday offers a tranquil environment for your outdoor retreat. While some areas of the campground are showing signs of age, the commitment to providing a clean and safe environment remains a top priority. The grounds feature a mix of gravel and paved areas, with ongoing needs for some paving replacements. Despite these minor aesthetic considerations, the campground provides the essential infrastructure for a comfortable stay.
For those traveling in recreational vehicles (RVs), Renfro Valley KOA Holiday offers pull-through sites that cater to various sizes. While some reviews mention the need for pad upgrades on certain pull-through sites, the overall functionality of the connections is commendable. You can expect reliable water and electrical hookups to ensure your RV systems operate smoothly. It's worth noting that, as is common with many campgrounds, the positioning and height of sewer connections might present challenges for specific RV models. However, the management strives to accommodate the diverse range of RVs on the road.
Beyond the essential hookups, Renfro Valley KOA Holiday aims to provide a range of services to enhance your camping experience. While it might not boast the elaborate paving, patios, and fencing seen in some of the "fancier" KOA parks, it focuses on delivering core necessities and a welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff is dedicated to ensuring your stay is pleasant and hassle-free. For any inquiries or to make a reservation, you can easily reach them by phone at (800) 562-2475 or their mobile number, +1 800-562-2475.
One notable feature of the campground is the condition of its entrance and exit roads. Despite a very steep grade, these roads are reported to be in excellent condition, ensuring safe and easy access to and from your campsite. This is a significant advantage, especially for larger RVs or those towing trailers.
While specific promotional information may vary depending on the season and availability, KOA campgrounds often offer various discounts and special packages. It's always recommended to check the official KOA website or contact Renfro Valley KOA Holiday directly to inquire about any ongoing promotions or loyalty programs that could enhance the value of your stay. Keep an eye out for seasonal discounts, weekend specials, or extended stay offers that might be available.
Based on customer feedback, Renfro Valley KOA Holiday is particularly well-suited for overnight stays, providing a clean and safe place to park and rest during your travels. The pricing, as mentioned in a recent review, can represent good value, especially when considering the convenience and essential amenities offered. For travelers prioritizing functionality and a secure environment over elaborate aesthetics, this campground proves to be a practical choice.

Renfro Valley KOA Holiday Reviews
This park is fine for overnight stays. The ground is mostly gravel with much of the paved areas needing replacement. It's lacking the paving, patios, and fencing of the fancier KOA parks. We just need a clean safe place to park overnight and this fit our needs. We paid $60 for 1 night and that was a good value.
Apr 01, 2025 · Pam CruzThe KOA is showing it's age, pull through sites need pad upgrading. The entrance and exit roads have a very steep grade but are in excellent condition. Water and electrical connections in good order. Sewer connections can be problematic, do to their location, positioning and the height for some some RVs. This is a problem at many campgrounds, not a negative of Renfro as you can't accommodate every make of RV. We would stay here again.
Apr 18, 2025 · Brian BThe experience at this KOA was not what we typically expect, prompting my initial inclination to rate it zero stars. However, if I were to evaluate it purely based on a non-KOA standard, two stars might feel more fitting. To start with the positives, the location was easy to find, and we checked in on Thanksgiving. Our information packet was conveniently taped to a board with my name, providing clear instructions for reaching our site. I noticed that there seemed to be plenty of things to do if we had arrived for peak season, which is promising.Unfortunately, our disappointment stemmed primarily from the site itself. We were assigned to site 4, for which we had paid a premium for a pull-through with a patio. Instead, we found ourselves at a narrow, paved site that made leveling our Class A motorhome a significant challenge, requiring us to lift a tire which is never reccommended. I suspect that while a trailer or fifth wheel might have fared better, it would still require some blocks for proper leveling. We eventually managed to get reasonably level, but we had to position ourselves closer to the back of the lot. This presented a problem since both the power pole and the sewer line were located much further toward the front. Additionally, it felt a bit odd that our neighbor was facing directly at us. We definitly did not have a patio.I should note that I opted not to complain or request a different site, so I cannot speak to whether the other options available might have been any better. Finally, I would advise anyone considering a stay here to be prepared for a steep, winding road when it comes time to leave, which is not entirely unexpected given the hilly terrain of the area.We initially intended to make another stop at this campground on our return trip. However, we've decided that we will not be returning in the future. I took the necessary steps to cancel our reservation and willingly paid the cancellation fee..
Nov 30, 2024 · Sarah KaiserYa no, won't be back. We travel with a 43' triple axel 5th wheel, which if anybody knows is very slow to turn. The site and surrounding sites we were on are all 90 degree turns, skinny, short and tight.Very unlevel sites, some with 30A......which is what we were put on even after booking online a Large pull thru 50/30/20A. Fail! We had to move after getting leveled out and realizing this. Seriously?!? There were only 3 other RVs in the park, not a difficult process.Very old looking and feeling park and not big rig friendly.
Dec 09, 2024 · MattOur family has camped at this wonderful campground for many many years during the month of October. We started with the rv sites and as we have aged we have moved to the wonderful cabins. The memories are priceless! Our grandchildren love all the fun activities and the playground. The staff was great as always and Tina is a jewel! I don’t understand why there hasn’t been adequate updates/upkeep done to the cabins (electric plugs loose for 2 years now) The gas grill was a safety hazard to say the least. Our little people were very disappointed to see the bouncy pillow was damaged and in very disarray 😢. The store was scarcely stocked for several things. For the price it costs you would expect more. For the first time we were somewhat disappointed with a few things. Again the STAFF and TINA are rockstars! I hope to see improvements next time.
