S-Tree Campground Introduce
Are you searching for a "camping near me" experience that combines well-maintained trails with breathtaking scenic views? S-Tree Campground, located on Tussey Hill Rd in Sandgap, KY 40481, USA, might be an ideal destination for you. You can reach them at (606) 864-4163 or +1 606-864-4163 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent feedback from visitors, S-Tree Campground offers a promising natural environment with ongoing improvements to enhance the camping experience. For local users seeking a blend of outdoor adventure and peaceful surroundings, let's delve into what S-Tree Campground has to offer.
One enthusiastic camper highlighted the "great maintained trails" at S-Tree Campground, indicating that hiking and exploring the area are likely significant attractions. Well-maintained trails are a crucial feature for those who enjoy immersing themselves in nature on foot, offering safe and enjoyable paths to discover the local scenery. This reviewer also noted that the campground is undergoing "very nice renovations to the campsites," suggesting that efforts are being made to improve the comfort and quality of the camping areas. The positive sentiment concluded with a firm commitment to return, stating, "Will be back for sure!" This strong endorsement speaks to the positive aspects of S-Tree Campground that resonate with visitors.
Another reviewer described S-Tree Campground as "very secluded," which could be a major draw for local users seeking a peaceful and private camping experience away from more crowded locations. The mention of "awesome" scenic views further emphasizes the natural beauty of the area, suggesting that campers can expect to be rewarded with picturesque vistas. This combination of seclusion and stunning scenery can create a truly relaxing and rejuvenating outdoor getaway.
However, this same reviewer also provided some important considerations regarding the terrain. They noted that the campground "can get to be pretty muddy in spots after hard rains," which is something to keep in mind when planning a visit, especially if there has been recent wet weather. Additionally, they mentioned that "some of the trails were rutted up pretty bad with potholes" and that "4 wheels were better than 2 because of the rough terrain and larger rocks on some of the trails." This suggests that while the trails offer scenic beauty, some may be challenging and better suited for off-road vehicles or very sturdy hiking footwear. Local users who enjoy off-roading or are prepared for more rugged hiking should find this aspect appealing, while those preferring smoother paths might need to inquire about the specific conditions of the trails they intend to use.
Combining these reviews, S-Tree Campground appears to offer a natural environment characterized by seclusion and impressive scenic views. It boasts trails that are generally well-maintained, making it attractive for hikers. The ongoing renovations to the campsites suggest a commitment to improving the overall camping experience. However, potential visitors should be aware that the terrain can be muddy and some trails may be rough, particularly after rain, and might be better navigated with four-wheel drive vehicles or appropriate hiking gear.
While the reviews provide valuable insights into the trails, scenery, and seclusion of S-Tree Campground, they do not offer specific details about the services and other features available. To provide a more comprehensive introduction for local users searching for "camping near me," we can consider the typical amenities and services found at campgrounds and how they might apply to S-Tree Campground based on the available feedback.
Given the mention of campsite renovations, we can infer that S-Tree Campground offers designated camping areas. These might include sites for tents and potentially for RVs or other camping vehicles. The renovations could involve improvements to the ground surface, the addition of picnic tables or fire rings, or upgrades to any available hookups (such as water or electricity), although the reviews do not specify the nature of these renovations.
As a campground with trails, it is likely that S-Tree Campground provides basic amenities such as restroom facilities. These could range from simple vault toilets to more developed restrooms with running water and showers, depending on the scale and nature of the campground. Access to potable water is also a common necessity for campers.
The "secluded" nature of the campground might imply a more rustic or natural camping experience, possibly with fewer amenities compared to larger, more developed campgrounds. However, the ongoing renovations suggest a move towards enhanced comfort and convenience for visitors.
The presence of trails, especially those described as potentially rough and better suited for four-wheel vehicles, indicates that off-roading or ATV riding might be permitted or popular in the area. Local users who enjoy these activities should inquire about any specific rules or designated trails for off-road vehicles.

S-Tree Campground Reviews
Great maintained trails, and they are doing very nice renovations to the campsites. Will be back for sure!
Apr 03, 2025 · Cody AubreyVery secluded and the scenic views are awesome. It can get to be pretty muddy in spots after hard rains. Some of the trails were rutted up pretty bad with potholes . 4 wheels were better than 2 because of the rough terrain and larger rocks on some of the trails.
Jun 25, 2022 · James ConwayNicely maintained and well laid out campsite. Part of the campground (loop B) is closed until November 22 (2024). There are 2 vault toilets in the camping area and 1 by the picnic area. This is part of an off-road recreation area, so it's probably fairly noisy on the weekends. Do not use the 2002 access road into the area. Come in from the north access, and your vehicle will thank you.
Sep 26, 2024 · Andy MayfairWe Dry camped because of no amenities in an Rv (needs to be under 24 ') right after Memorial Day so it was empty and quiet the way we like it but this is more of a dirt bike and ATV park and all the trails are for them so it would be loud at a busy time. Loved campsite #10 and they have fire pits. Campground has 20 sites.one loop has 1-10 sites then another loop has 11 -20 . They do have vault toilets
Jun 05, 2022 · Kelly MckiskiThis is a nice camping area. But must be into dirt bikes and four wheelers. Nice structure for picnic. Impressed
