Walnut Meadow RV Park Introduce
For local RV travelers and those passing through the Berea, Kentucky area seeking a 'camping near me' option, Walnut Meadow RV Park, located at 711 Paint Lick Rd, Berea, KY 40403, offers a convenient location just off the interstate. You can reach them at (859) 986-6180 or +1 859-986-6180 to inquire about availability and services. Based on recent customer reviews, the park presents a mixed experience, with some highlighting its convenience for overnight stays while others express concerns about the facilities and site conditions.
One reviewer who was traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio, found Walnut Meadow RV Park to be a suitable overnight layover spot to break up their journey. They noted its convenient location "very conveniently off the interstate" and considered it "reasonably priced." The welcoming aspect was also highlighted, with the reviewer mentioning that "the lady that welcomes you is super friendly and happy to help you." This positive initial interaction suggests a friendly management team.
For those traveling with large RV units, the reviewer pointed out the availability of "pull through spots for big units," accommodating rigs as long as 65 feet with a truck. The essential hookups were also mentioned, including "power" and "water." Additionally, the sewer level at their site allowed them to remain connected without unhooking, adding to the convenience for a short stay. Despite its proximity to the interstate, the reviewer noted that they did not hear noise from the highway, suggesting a relatively peaceful environment for sleeping during a layover. Based on their experience, they recommended Walnut Meadow RV Park for an overnight stop to catch some sleep during a long journey.
However, another reviewer had a significantly different experience, expressing that it was "Not a place I would recommend or return to." Their arrival process began with a phone call from a "nice lady" providing instructions to call upon arrival because no one was in the office. This led to a wait of over 20 minutes and two phone calls before being directed to their spot, which they could see from their waiting location. This suggests potential issues with on-site management availability or responsiveness.
The site conditions were a major concern for this reviewer. They reported that due to recent rain, they were placed in a space that was "flooded on one side," making it impossible to walk around their RV when the slide was out. This occurred despite the presence of a "perfectly dry space next to us with no one in it," raising questions about site allocation and maintenance in wet conditions.
Furthermore, this reviewer had significant issues with the restroom facilities. They stated that the "women's restroom and showers were 'Out of Order' and the men's were disgusting." This is a serious concern for any traveler relying on campground facilities and suggests a potential lack of maintenance or upkeep of these essential amenities. The reviewer also mentioned having photos to support their claims but was unable to upload them to Google at the time of the review.
Considering these contrasting reviews, Walnut Meadow RV Park appears to offer a convenient location for an overnight stop for RV travelers, particularly those with large units, and the initial welcome might be friendly. However, there are potential drawbacks related to site conditions after rain and the state of the restroom facilities. The availability and responsiveness of on-site management upon arrival might also be inconsistent.
The environment of Walnut Meadow RV Park seems to be primarily functional as an overnight stop rather than a destination for an extended stay focused on natural beauty or extensive amenities. The proximity to the interstate, while convenient for travelers, might not offer the serene natural setting some campers seek. The mention of pull-through sites suggests that the layout is geared towards ease of access for RVs. However, the issue with flooding on some sites indicates that the drainage or grading might be problematic in wet weather.
Services at Walnut Meadow RV Park appear to include basic hookups for RVs (power, water, sewer at some sites). The presence of restroom and shower facilities is indicated, but their condition seems to be a point of concern based on one review. The friendly welcome by at least one staff member suggests some level of customer service. However, the delayed check-in process for another guest raises questions about consistent on-site management.
Features mentioned are primarily the pull-through sites suitable for large RVs and the convenient access to the interstate. The quiet environment despite the proximity to the highway is also a potential feature for overnight stays. However, the lack of mention of other amenities like Wi-Fi, laundry, or recreational areas suggests that the park is more focused on basic overnight accommodations.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers for Walnut Meadow RV Park. Local users interested in staying here, whether for an overnight stop or longer, should contact the park directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about current rates, site availability, and the status of their facilities, particularly the restrooms and showers. It would also be prudent to ask about their policies regarding site allocation in wet conditions.
In conclusion, for local RVers or those passing through Berea, Kentucky, Walnut Meadow RV Park offers a location right off the interstate with pull-through sites that can accommodate large rigs. The price is mentioned as reasonable by one reviewer, and the initial welcome can be friendly. However, potential guests should be aware of reported issues with flooded sites after rain and the potentially poor condition or unavailability of restroom facilities. The inconsistency in on-site management responsiveness upon arrival is also a factor to consider. It is strongly recommended to contact the park directly to get the most up-to-date information on site conditions and facility status before making a reservation.

Walnut Meadow RV Park Reviews
We were leaving Cincinnati Ohio and wanted to knock down about three hours of travel time for us so we decided to book a overnight layover site here. It is very conveniently off the interstate reasonably priced the lady that welcomes you is super friendly and happy to help you, they are pool through spots for big units. My unit is about 65 feet long with Truck. They have power they have water. They have sewer level so I didn’t have to unhook. I just lifted weight off the truck. It’s off the interstate you don’t hear the noise I would recommend this place sleep for a layover to catch some sleep for your next journey.

Apr 17, 2025 · Larry J. HolmesThe employees greeted us very nicely and helped us get to our site and pull in.Somebody trashed men's bathroom, but they took care of it when they were called. Picnic tables need to be replaced. And they need to put some gravel in the holes where the water stands when it rains.

Dec 21, 2024 · Kathy StilzWalnut Meadow is a Godsend after a long day of travel. We stayed here for one night in July 2024 on our way home to Canada from Florida after another park had hit capacity, and we are so glad we did. Humble, clean, quiet and the staff were so helpful. Meghan on the phone was a delight, and Sam, who met us for a late check in to guide us to our site. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we’ll be back!
