Customer reviews highlight the campground's peaceful atmosphere, availability of full hookups, and potential for ATV enthusiasts, while also noting a consideration for pet owners.
The environment surrounding Ridge Runner Campground is described as "peaceful and quiet" and "outta the way," suggesting a secluded and relaxing setting. This could appeal to campers looking to escape the noise and crowds of more centrally located campgrounds. The location in St Paul, Virginia, likely places it within the scenic landscapes of Southwest Virginia, potentially offering wooded areas, rolling hills, and a natural ambiance conducive to a restful camping experience. The mention of Russell Creek Road hints at the possibility of a nearby creek or stream, adding to the natural charm of the location. Imagine enjoying the sounds of nature and the tranquility of a less-trafficked area during your stay.
A significant feature of Ridge Runner Campground is the availability of "full hookups." This is a crucial amenity for RV travelers, providing connections for electricity, water, and sewer at the campsite. The positive mention of finding a site with full hookups "last minute" suggests that the campground is equipped to accommodate RVs with these essential services. This convenience allows for a more comfortable and extended stay for RVers, enabling them to utilize all their onboard systems without the need for frequent trips to dump stations or water fill-up points.
One reviewer expressed a wish for an ATV, noting that it "would have been a blast!" This strongly implies that Ridge Runner Campground or the surrounding area offers opportunities for ATV riding. This could be a major draw for local users who are ATV enthusiasts, suggesting the presence of trails or designated areas where off-road vehicles can be enjoyed. If you are interested in ATV riding, it is highly recommended to inquire with the campground about on-site trails or nearby legal riding areas and any associated rules or permits.
Ridge Runner Campground is also noted as being welcoming to pets, as one reviewer mentioned traveling with "2 doggos." This is a significant plus for many campers who like to bring their furry companions along on their outdoor adventures. However, the same reviewer pointed out a potential "downfall" regarding "neighborhood dogs running free." While these dogs "seemed friendly enough for the most part," the reviewer understandably preferred not to take any chances with their own pets. This is an important consideration for pet owners planning to stay at Ridge Runner Campground. It would be wise to inquire about the campground's specific pet policies, including leash rules for your own pets, and to be aware of the potential presence of unrestrained neighborhood dogs.
The overall sentiment from the reviews is positive, with one reviewer giving it "5 stars all the way" and highly recommending it for its peaceful and quiet atmosphere. This suggests that for campers seeking a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle, Ridge Runner Campground delivers on its promise of tranquility.

Ridge Runner Campground Reviews
Was very thankful we found a place last minute to stop for a spell in our travels. With full hookups!! Wish i had an ATV in tow! Would have been a blast! We have 2 doggos, the only downfall was the neighborhood dogs running free, they seemed friendly enough for the most part, but dont like to take any chances with our furrykids.
