We stayed in Cabin 7, which has a handicap accessible ramp, for 2 nights in February. We did not realize that there was a "Snowbird" discount running when we booked thru Reserve America and so we paid full price for each night. Before arriving I got an email receipt refunding the overage because the kind people who run this campground took the time to discount our stay. I would never have even known that we "overpaid".The reservation site lists the cabin as max 6 but it would be cramped with that many people. It was, however, very comfortable for my husband and I, and I can imagine 2 more people. When we arrived, the cabin was clean but dusty, and smelled of raw cut wood. There was some spray foam insulation visible in a few places and the boards were clearly put up with a nail gun but it did not detract from the coziness. We loved the internal door blinds. Despite only having two small windows, front, and back doors the cabin felt light and airy. The private balcony was small but held 2 rocking chairs and was peaceful. Inside, I was pleased to find a small coffee maker with a supply of coffee and paper cups as you would find at a hotel. As a non-coffee drinkers, we would have loved to have found tea bags as well but it was still a nice touch. There was a large mini fridge and microwave. The cabin had a wall unit HVAC with thermostat. It was comfortable without any excess humidity. There were also 2 electric radiators available but we did not use them. A medium sized table with three chairs, a side table (attached to the couch), and lamp were also provided. There were 9 available outlets. A wooden hook rack was available but I wish there had been a simple hook, similar to the one in the restroom stall, closer to the front door for coats and/or dog leashes. The cabin has a set of full sized bunk beds and a small couch. Both mattresses were fully enclosed in a zipper cover. We did not see any insects or arachnids inside the cabin. The bunk beds had a vertical built on ladder which was impossible for my husband and I to use due to physical limitations. We instead slept on the lower bunk bed and couch. The bottom mattress and couch were quite hard for someone accustomed to a memory foam mattress. The communal restrooms at the camping area are very nice, despite showing some age. It was maybe a 2 min walk (with a cane) from our a cabin directly across the way. I agree with some reviews that it would be quite a walk at night if you were in the furthest cabins. The bathhouse has motion sensor flood lights which only trigger from very nearby so you'd definitely need a flashlight. That being said, it is not unusual for a campground. They are electrically vented, with a heater and fan. Each side has 2 toilet/shower combo stalls which were very clean and fresh smelling. It took the water about 30 sec to warm up during our stay (outside temps 77-30F) which was fantastic. Only camping guests are allowed to use these restrooms (keypad access) so they feel very private. The views over the ridgeline were quite impressive. The night sky was breathtaking. Unfortunately, there were control burns happening nearby that limited our enjoyment (and view) on the first day and the second day was extremely windy (25mph gusts, 15mph sustained) as a front moved thru so we were unable to have a fire or grill. Each cabin does, however, have its own picnic table, fire pit, and raised grill. It is so serene here at night. I only wish the hum from the bathhouse wasn't so loud but you cannot hear it inside the cabin. Overall, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would recommend it to friends. - Lisa

One reviewer mentioned the breathtaking night sky, indicating a location with potentially low light pollution, ideal for stargazing. The campground is located in southern Georgia, offering scenery described as "very unique" for the region. While the natural beauty is a significant draw, it's worth noting that nearby control burns might occasionally impact the views and air quality, as experienced by one visitor. Additionally, weather conditions such as strong winds can affect outdoor activities like campfires and grilling. However, generally, the setting promises a peaceful retreat with natural beauty. For primitive campers, the ability to park alongside the road and use a wheelbarrow to transport gear to the wooded sites is a practical consideration. The keypad access to the communal restrooms for camping guests adds a sense of security and privacy.

While the provided reviews do not explicitly mention current promotional offers, the "Snowbird" discount applied retroactively to one guest's cabin stay indicates that River Ridge Campground may offer seasonal discounts or special rates.
