River Rise Magnolia Campground Introduce
Looking for a conveniently located "camping near me" option in a natural setting near High Springs, Florida? River Rise Magnolia Campground, situated at 1894 SE Oleno Park Rd, offers an affordable and accessible camping experience, particularly noted for its accommodating staff and basic amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a functional and peaceful environment for those looking to explore the outdoors or simply needing a comfortable overnight stop.
One of the first things that stands out about River Rise Magnolia Campground is the positive interaction with the staff. A recent visitor specifically mentioned a "super kind and accommodating" ranger lady who went out of her way to assist with a late check-in. This level of helpfulness can significantly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel welcome and valued. The efficiency in handling inquiries and accommodating late arrivals suggests a customer-oriented approach at the campground.
The affordability of River Rise Magnolia Campground is another key feature, with a group campsite priced at $18 per night according to a November 2024 review. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers, especially groups looking for an economical place to stay. The presence of "slotted areas for cars/campers around the bathroom" indicates a structured layout that provides some organization and designated parking for campers.
For those who appreciate clean and functional restroom facilities, River Rise Magnolia Campground seems to deliver. The restroom area is described as "nice" with "warm showers," a welcome amenity, especially during cooler months. The availability of two regular and one handicapped-accessible shower demonstrates an effort towards inclusivity. Importantly, a reviewer noted "no issues of bugs in the bathroom/showers" even in early November, suggesting good maintenance in this area. The women's restroom had "several stalls for toilets," and the men's had "several urinals/stalls," indicating sufficient capacity. The upkeep of hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper further contributes to a positive experience. Additionally, a sink area located between the men's and women's restrooms provides added convenience.
Accessibility appears to be a consideration at River Rise Magnolia Campground, as evidenced by the presence of a wheelchair available for use. This is a thoughtful amenity that can significantly benefit visitors with mobility challenges, ensuring they can navigate the campground more easily.
Campsite amenities include electric hookups at each site and a picnic table. The availability of electricity is a significant advantage for RVers and those who rely on powered devices. Picnic tables provide a convenient space for meals and outdoor activities. While a grill was not observed at campsite #2, it's possible that other sites may have them, or that communal grilling areas are available (though not mentioned in the reviews). Local users should inquire about grilling options when booking.
One reviewer specifically mentioned the unexpected availability of "50a charging" for their Tesla, despite the advertisement stating 30a. This could be a significant perk for electric vehicle owners looking for "camping near me" with charging capabilities, although it's important to confirm the availability and reliability of 50a service when making reservations.
The campground's connection to a "nice bike trail along the highway" is a notable feature for cycling enthusiasts. This provides an opportunity for recreational biking and exploring the local area. The flat terrain often associated with Florida makes it ideal for leisurely bike rides.
In terms of the environment, a reviewer noted a significant presence of "Mosquitoes" in their parking area, indicating that insect repellent would be essential, especially during warmer months. The peaceful natural setting is also highlighted by the sound of an owl heard during the night, suggesting the presence of local wildlife. While one visitor didn't have the chance to explore the wider area, they acknowledged "missed opportunities," implying that the surroundings likely offer more to discover.
The campground is pet-friendly, as "People did have dogs, they seemed pretty quiet thankfully." This is a positive aspect for local users who enjoy camping with their furry companions, although it's important to note that specific pet policies (such as leash requirements) are not detailed in the reviews.
While the positive aspects of River Rise Magnolia Campground are evident, one reviewer pointed out some areas needing improvement. They noted that "the infrastructure needs big time investment; picnic tables are rotting and good luck using the firepit to cook your 'rust burgers'." This suggests that while the basic amenities are present, their condition may be deteriorating. Similarly, the bathroom had "half of the toilets out of order and noisy ceiling fan," indicating potential maintenance issues. The reviewer expressed disappointment that fees collected by the state of Florida were not being reinvested in the upkeep of this "historic park."
Another minor inconvenience mentioned was the lack of a trash can at each campsite, requiring a trip to the women's restroom to dispose of trash. Additionally, a dedicated spot to fill water bottles was not immediately apparent to one visitor.
Despite these criticisms, River Rise Magnolia Campground offers several appealing features for local users seeking "camping near me":
- Affordable Rates: Particularly attractive for group camping.
- Helpful Staff: Rangers are reported to be kind and accommodating.
- Clean Restrooms with Warm Showers: Well-maintained facilities with accessibility features.
- Electric Hookups: Available at each campsite, with potential for 50a service.
- Bike Trail Access: Connects to a nice trail along the highway for cycling.
- Quiet Atmosphere: Respectful campers contribute to a peaceful environment.
- Pet-Friendly: Dogs are allowed.
To attract more local users, River Rise Magnolia Campground could focus on addressing the infrastructure issues highlighted in the reviews, showcasing any improvements made. They could also promote the affordability and the access to the bike trail as key selling points for local outdoor enthusiasts. Highlighting the warm showers and clean restrooms can also be a draw, especially for those camping during cooler seasons. Providing clearer information about trash disposal and water filling stations would also enhance the guest experience.
Promotional efforts could include discounts for local residents or highlighting the proximity to other natural attractions in the High Springs area. Partnering with local bike shops or outdoor recreation groups could also attract a specific segment of the local population.
In conclusion, River Rise Magnolia Campground offers an affordable and functional "camping near me" option near High Springs, Florida, with notable strengths in its helpful staff, clean restrooms, and access to a bike trail. While some infrastructure and amenity upkeep is needed, the basic necessities are provided, and the quiet atmosphere can be appealing for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Local users looking for an economical camping option with electric hookups and access to cycling should consider River Rise Magnolia Campground, keeping in mind the potential for mosquitoes and the need for personal provisions like insect repellent and potentially a method for water bottle refills.

River Rise Magnolia Campground Reviews
Ranger lady was super kind and accommodating! We called around 4:30pm and she tried to get us in before 5pm when they close. It was $18/night for group camp site. They have slotted areas for cars/campers around the bathroom. Restroom area was nice, warm showers. There were two regular and one handicapped. No issues of bugs in the bathroom/showers. Early November 2024. There were several stalls for toilets in the women’s and several urinals/stalls in the men’s. Hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper were all up-kept. Quiet time is 11pm-7am. When here people were respectful of that. There was a sink area between the men’s and women’s restroom too which is useful. There was a wheel chair available. Electric on campsite. Picnic table at each site. Didn’t see a grill at #2 but also wasn’t looking. There were a lot of Mosquitoes where we were parked. Heard an owl a few times during the middle of the night. Didn’t get to explore the area as it was just a place to rest our head and take a shower. I’m sure there’s some missed opportunities with that. People did have dogs, they seemed pretty quiet thankfully. Wish there was a trash can at each site. Not sure where it was located, used women’s restroom to trash some stuff. Didn’t notice in the immediate area of any spot to fill water bottles. That’s okay lol, just thinking of what else could be helpful to know.
Nov 08, 2024 · T GDid some Teslamping here and was so glad to have 50a charging Not the 30a which is advertised. Great place to ride bike and it connects to a nice bike trail along the highway. The infrastructure needs big time investment; picnic tables are rotting and good luck using the firepit to cook your “rust burgers”. Bathroom had half of the toilets out of order and noisy ceiling fan. With all the money the state of Florida brings in, they don’t even reinvest my fees to freshen up this historic park. Now THAT should be a crime in Florida.
Jan 30, 2024 · Chris HrubeshHad an ok time here, unfortunately it rained every single day and decided to pack up on Day 6 and goto a hotel. Bridge was out because of a fallen tree I believe they said. Not very handicap accessable. Have to walk a short distance to bathrooms but clean. Overall I liked the park and will try again when the weather is nicer.
Nov 17, 2023 · J B SmithThis park offers hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. Plenty of parking including handicap spaces. RV and tent camping sites are available, but you must reserve online. There’s a good children’s playground, plenty of picnic areas, and large shelter/pavillion near the main parking area as well. A unique point of interest is the suspension bridge over the Sante Fe River.I hiked the River Trail and Paraner’s Trail a few days after a prescribed control burn 🔥 It’s interesting to see and watch the terrain come back over time. Also many beautiful sink holes along the trails and plenty of benches with scenic views to rest, hydrate, and snack.
Mar 19, 2021 · Leeta GatoOur family really enjoyed this park and facilities! Great hiking, lots of springs. The camping sites are wooded and have clean restrooms.
