Rocky Branch Marina & Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a 'camping near me' experience with the added benefit of waterfront access, Rocky Branch Marina & Campground, located at 5153 Courthouse Rd in Spotsylvania Courthouse, Virginia (22551, USA), presents an appealing option. The name itself suggests a location that not only offers camping but also marina facilities, implying opportunities for boating and other water-related activities. Customer reviews provide insights into the family-friendly atmosphere and convenient amenities, while also highlighting a couple of areas potential visitors might want to consider.
Spotsylvania Courthouse, Virginia, is situated in a region known for its historical significance and natural beauty, often featuring lakes and rivers that provide opportunities for outdoor recreation. Rocky Branch Marina & Campground's location here likely means that its environment is defined by its proximity to a body of water, offering campers scenic views and easy access for boating, fishing, and potentially swimming. The surrounding area might include wooded sections providing shade and a natural ambiance, as well as open areas for campsites and marina facilities. The presence of a marina suggests a significant water feature that is likely a central attraction of the campground.
The services and features at Rocky Branch Marina & Campground, as indicated by the customer reviews, include:
- Waterfront Access and Marina Facilities: The presence of a marina indicates that the campground likely offers services and amenities related to boating, such as boat slips, launching ramps, and possibly boat rentals or supplies. This is a significant feature for those who enjoy spending time on the water.
- Family-Friendly Atmosphere: One reviewer explicitly mentions enjoying the campground as a family and describes it as a "family run campground," suggesting a welcoming and safe environment suitable for visitors of all ages.
- Convenience Store On-Site: A notable convenience is the presence of a "small convenient store inside the premises." This allows campers to easily purchase basic necessities, snacks, drinks, and potentially some camping or boating supplies without having to leave the campground.
- First-Come, First-Served Tent Camping: For those specifically interested in tent camping, the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. This can be advantageous for those who prefer not to make reservations or who have last-minute camping plans.
- Perceived Safety: One reviewer notes that "This place is safe," which is an important consideration for families and all campers seeking a secure environment during their stay.
However, the reviews also bring up a couple of areas where potential visitors should be aware:
- Duck Poop on Sites: One recurring visitor mentions that "Last year sites were full of duck’s poop" and expresses the hope that the owner will address this issue. This suggests that the presence of waterfowl might be significant in certain areas of the campground, potentially affecting the cleanliness and comfort of campsites.
- Noise Issues from Disrespectful Guests: Another concern raised is the problem of "people disrespectful, drinking and staying with loud music until more than midnight and very early in the morning waking up the campers." This indicates potential issues with noise levels and disruptive behavior from some guests, which could impact the peaceful enjoyment of the campground for others.
For local users in the 'camping near me' category, Rocky Branch Marina & Campground offers the significant appeal of waterfront access combined with the convenience of a marina and an on-site store. The family-run nature and perceived safety are also positive aspects. However, potential visitors should be mindful of the reported issues with duck droppings on campsites and the potential for noise disturbances from other campers.

In conclusion, Rocky Branch Marina & Campground near Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA, offers a local getaway with the distinct advantage of marina facilities and a family-oriented atmosphere. Rocky Branch Marina & Campground Reviews
I like this place a lot, we always enjoy as family here. There are only 2 things that I wish the owner takes care of them:⚠️Last year sites were full of duck’s poop I hope this year she will do something about it.⚠️people disrespectful, drinking and staying with loud music until more than midnight and very early in the morning waking up the campers.

Jul 13, 2020 · namy murphyThey have very nice service. The are very friendly. The person who helped us (Anthony) even made extra effort to get us a jet sky though it wasn't available when we got there.

Jan 23, 2017 · Tim PiazzaMe and my husband.Wanted to have a little getaway for ourselves Uber the weekend and we had a blast only during the day time.! They spent our time fishing and swimming. We made friends with a lot of the local membership owners that have Permanent camp lots. The owner and employees were great.Everyone was great, but at night people were running around with loud speakers at 2 o'clock in the morning having big huge DJ. Speakers leaving a lot of trash and debris.By campers that were asked to keep it down at 11 PM by management But once management left at eleven p m, they started partying again really loud and there was a lot of chaos. Membership members had told us that this happens every summer because there's no security driving around at night. And I totally agree, but Other than that, we had fun and it was great accept that 1 family with 2 RVs that were partying all night long. We even moved spots on Saturday. And left to go fishing, but when we came back that same family had 11 tense. Set up that came with the family with the to RVs Great place to camp and fish and go out on the water and pop-up a tent. But it's gonna be hard because you won't be able to sleep. I had asked for a refund and went to the office but I never received my refund for at least one night of missed sleep. I paid $45 for Friday night and Saturday night. We weren't supposed to leave until Sunday at 3 PM we. Left exactly at Sunday morning at 8 AM. Me and my husband were very upset. And so were other people that made complaints all weekend, that could not sleep. That went for a few locals. And a few weekend campers, with complaints about the same issue..
