Rocky Hollow Horse Camp Reviews
Fantastic Campground and very friendly owner. We drove right up in winter as we had no mobile reception to call prior. The owner checked us in and gave us a few hiking options right off his property. We did a very enjoyable 9 mile loop in winter and that was the highlight of our time in the area.Campground itself is nice, clean bathroom and showers and well worth the price we paid.
Jan 03, 2021 · Amanda WongThis campground is in an amazing location with very friendly and generous hosts. We were hiking in Grayson Highlands in the Winter and Wade let us stay at the campground out of season when no other campers were around. Most of the camp sites appeared to have water, electricity, and a fire pit. Wade had firewood waiting for us when we arrived. The restrooms and showers were clean. We didn't do anything related to horses during our stay, but the stables and facilities for horses seemed nice. Best of all (for hikers) there are National Forest Service trails directly accessible from the campground. You can walk directly from the campground to trails that climb a bald hill with a beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We hope to return someday!
Dec 31, 2019 · Joe JansenThe campground was really nice and the owner very friendly. When we went it was very rainy and the trails were VERY muddy. Lost two hoof boots in 10 min. Would probably be much better riding in drier weather!
Sep 03, 2020 · PandJ SolesI can’t actually give a full review! We didn’t stay there. All I can say is please check the cancellation policy which is 14 days notice or no refund! I made a large deposit for several different people and I’m the only one that can use it. None of the other people are allowed to use it even though it was a spot for them. My mistake but expensive lesson learned!!
Jul 21, 2024 · Christa WoodI stayed for 7 days last April and loved it! The owners are wonderful, the stalls are nice and roomy, dry and clean, especially after staying at a place that has "covered"stalls in which the ground and horse get drenched if it rains. The trails are nicely rugged, rocky and beautiful. If you ride your horse, then you don't really need a turnout pen. Also, I have never seen nice cabins where dogs were welcome to come inside.I enjoyed my stay enough to plan on returning this April.
