Saluda River Resort Introduce
Are you a local resident seeking a convenient and tranquil "camping near me" experience in South Carolina? Saluda River Resort, nestled at 1283 Saluda River Rd, Silverstreet, SC 29145, USA, offers a charming and relaxed atmosphere for those looking to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. You can reach them at (803) 276-7917 or their mobile number, +1 803-276-7917, to inquire about availability and plan your visit. Based on feedback from fellow campers, Saluda River Resort provides a welcoming environment with access to the Saluda River and several amenities for a pleasant stay.
While exploring options within the "camping near me" category, Saluda River Resort presents itself as a smaller, more intimate campground, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The reviews from visitors highlight the friendliness of the staff and the overall peaceful ambiance of the location. This personal touch and quiet setting can be particularly appealing to locals seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life without traveling too far.
The campsites at Saluda River Resort are described as mostly grass and dirt. While this natural terrain might appeal to those seeking a more traditional camping feel, it's worth noting, as one reviewer did, that some areas, particularly those downhill along the creek, might present a challenge for larger RVs when departing, especially after rain. Careful planning for departure might be necessary in such locations. However, the availability of electric and water hookups at the sites provides essential conveniences for both RV and potentially tent campers, although the primary impression from the reviews leans towards accommodating RVs.
One aspect that stands out is the campground's direct access to the Saluda River. This feature is a significant draw for fishing enthusiasts, as mentioned by a satisfied visitor who highlighted the "lots of area to fish in the river." For local anglers looking for a convenient spot to cast their lines, Saluda River Resort offers an appealing option right on their campsite's doorstep. The presence of a store that sells bait further enhances this appeal, providing a convenient resource for those looking to try their luck in the river.
Beyond the river access, Saluda River Resort also boasts a swimming pool, adding another dimension to the recreational opportunities available to guests. This amenity can be particularly welcome during the warmer months in South Carolina, offering a refreshing way to cool down and relax after a day of fishing or simply enjoying the outdoors. For families or individuals looking for a campground with diverse leisure options, the inclusion of a pool is a definite plus.
The layout of the campground seems to have distinct areas. One reviewer mentioned being located along the road where boaters accessed the river, indicating a potential for some traffic in that specific area. However, they also noted another area that was flatter and set away from the main road, characterized by grassy campsites. This suggests that different camping experiences might be available depending on the site assigned, with some offering more seclusion and less traffic than others. It would be beneficial to inquire about site options when making a reservation to best suit your preferences.
The presence of long-term residents in a separate area of the campground is also mentioned. This is not uncommon in many campgrounds and can contribute to a sense of community. The reviewer noted that the campground was generally quiet, with only a little more traffic in the area closer to the boat launch. This suggests that the long-term residents do not significantly impact the experience of short-term campers.
For local users searching within the "camping near me" category, Saluda River Resort offers several key features and potential benefits:
- Direct access to the Saluda River, ideal for fishing.
- A swimming pool for relaxation and recreation.
- A store on-site that sells bait, catering to anglers.
- Friendly and helpful staff, ensuring a pleasant stay.
- A generally quiet and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a getaway.
- Availability of electric and water hookups at campsites.
While the reviews do not explicitly mention a dump station, it's advisable for RV owners to inquire about this amenity when booking, especially for longer stays. The terrain of some campsites being mostly grass and dirt might be a consideration for some, and the potential for challenging departure from downhill creek-side sites after rain is something to be aware of.
In conclusion, Saluda River Resort presents a charming option for local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that emphasizes relaxation and access to nature. Its proximity to the Saluda River, coupled with amenities like a pool and bait shop, makes it particularly appealing to those interested in fishing and a laid-back atmosphere. While some campsites might have a more rustic feel and certain areas could experience more traffic due to river access, the overall sentiment from visitors is positive, highlighting the friendly service and the potential for a peaceful retreat. Saluda River Resort Reviews
The people there were friendly and nice. The campsites are mostly grass and dirt. They had electric and water. Never found out if they had a dump station since we were just passing through. We ended up in the area I would think would of been more for tents. We were down hill along the creek. Nice spot but worried if we were going to make it up the hill when we left, especially since it had rained. We made it after careful planning on how to get out without getting stuck. We were also along the road where everyone came in and out of to put there boats in the river. The other area was flat and away from the main road, but grassy area for camping. There is also long term residents there but separate from camping area. It was quiet just a little more traffic on our side.

Jul 10, 2019 · gina williamsonMy new favorite place!! Friendly and informative staff, clean store that has everything you may need, good price for fishing and camping, amenities such as bathrooms and showers, swimming pool, and all the fishing you want. Beautiful place. Can't wait to camp again!
Jul 13, 2020 · Gloria TejedaWe go back every year and we live only 20 minutes away!Sure it's a little rough around the edges and no wifi but it's camping! That's why they call it roughing it! The pool is awesome! $5 for swimming is a good deal when you consider the cost of pool upkeep. Great place to drop in the kayaks for a private river trip with excellent views.
