Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet when outside the vehicle, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and ensuring they do not cause disturbances. For dogs, there's a dedicated "KampK9® dog park" (Charlie's Bark Park), a 2-acre off-leash recreation area with amenities like a comfort station, indoor dog wash, and dog spray fountain, a thoughtful addition for pet owners.
Promotional information emphasizes the resort's "eco-adventure" focus and its prime location on Highway 1, approximately an hour south of San Francisco and 30 minutes north of Santa Cruz. It highlights the balance between outdoor exploration and luxurious comforts, making it appealing to those who appreciate a higher-end camping experience. The resort's connection to the Costanoa Lodge means guests often have access to additional amenities such as a full spa offering massages and body treatments. While the pricing might be on the higher side, as noted by some reviewers, the comprehensive amenities, stunning views, and diverse activities are presented as providing excellent value. The resort also touts its suitability for groups, offering a clubhouse and meeting rooms, along with a dedicated Group Coordinator to assist with planning.
While the "beach isn't easily accessible" for a casual stroll with gear, the overall proximity to the California coast and various state parks offers abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation and sightseeing. Nearby attractions include the Pigeon Point Lighthouse, farm tours, berry picking, and the vibrant town of Santa Cruz with its famous Beach Boardwalk. The resort's ability to offer "a great place to get away from it all without spending too much time on the road," especially for local residents, is a significant advantage.
In conclusion, Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA provides a premium and activity-rich camping experience for those searching for "Camping Near Me" in the coastal California region. Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA Reviews
We rv here and rented a premium site with ocean views. Our site was lovely with table, fire pit, barbecue and chairs for six. The site came with full hookup but no tv. We didn't miss the tv because we spent most of our time outside.
Mar 22, 2025 · Peggy LoweWe used the KOA RV campground. Expensive and is considered a bougie campsite but worth it. Only downside is super close to your neighbors. Also check, the do have a dog policy that doesn't permit certain breeds. Great views. Beach isn't easily accessible either. Many don't allow dogs. We still love it though being close to home so it's not a long drive.
Jan 13, 2025 · Stacie HeinzThis is such a gem. We stayed in the canvas tents for 2 nights. We went in December so it was very chilly but the electric blanket kept us warm. The sunsets were stunning and the coastal views were breathtaking. I can't wait to come back!
Dec 27, 2024 · Josey McGuireNice restaurant and bar on-site. I would probably not stay here gain because of the staff, they are very rude. For an RV spot that we paid $220 per night for, we would expect more space between sites.
Dec 30, 2024 · sagar sidhuCostonia RV campground is a thief! This campground is no longer a KOA.!I made a reservation for April of 2025 back in November of 2024. When I made a reservation it was a KOA. At the beginning of 2025 they were no longer a KOA but didn't inform anyone of the change. I went to look at my reservation and found out. They are very hard to get ahold of on the phone. Once I was able to talk to someone I asked for a refund of my deposit. I was canceling plenty ahead of time. They said I would receive a refund in 5-10 days. Two weeks past and no refund. So I called again and they said "oh looks like no card on file, so we couldn't refund" i gave my card info and they said wait another 5 days. I saw the refund pending for a few days and then it was gone. It's been a month and no refund. I feel like I was stollen from by them.
