Singh RV & Campground Introduce
Are you a local resident in search of 'camping near me' for a convenient overnight RV stop or a longer stay with a touch of nature? Singh RV & Campground, located at 14154 W Club Deluxe Rd, Hammond, LA 70403, USA, presents itself as an option with recent changes and a focus on hospitality. You can reach them at (985) 542-8094 or +1 985-542-8094 for inquiries and bookings.
Based on recent customer feedback, Singh RV & Campground is undergoing a transformation under new ownership. One recent review enthusiastically describes the new owners as "so nice" and highlights feeling welcomed upon arrival, even mentioning being escorted to their campsite. This suggests a focus on customer service and a more personal touch in the guest experience. The reviewer also noted the park being "very clean" and appreciated the presence of wildlife, indicating a natural environment that some visitors may find appealing. The availability of both pull-through and back-in spots near the water is also mentioned as a positive feature, potentially offering scenic views for some campers.
However, it's important for local users considering this campground to also be aware of earlier feedback that painted a different picture. One detailed review from a visitor passing through noted that the campground appeared to be in "bad shape," particularly in terms of infrastructure. This review mentioned narrow and poorly lit roads within the park, making navigation after dark challenging. The road surfaces were described as a mix of mud and gravel with significant potholes and cracks in the asphalt, exacerbated by recent heavy rainfall that filled these depressions and made campsites muddy.
In terms of services and features, the same review noted that while their pull-thru site offered full hookups (FHU) with 50A service (they used an adapter for their 30A rig), there were no picnic tables or fire pits at their site. A small cement pad was present, possibly for a table. The sites were also described as being in close proximity to each other, creating a somewhat packed environment. It was observed that a significant number of sites appeared to be occupied by full-time residents or long-term campers working in the area, with the remaining sites for overnight guests located along the fence bordering W Club Road, which was noted as being somewhat noisy.
The campground does appear to offer some recreational amenities. A fenced-in pool was visible, although covered at the time of the review, suggesting it is likely open seasonally. There is also a fenced playground, but it was described as being swampy, indicating potential drainage issues. The review also pointed out the absence of pet waste stations within the campground. The reviewer did not utilize the bathrooms or laundry facilities, so no information is available regarding their condition.
One potentially convenient feature mentioned in the reviews is the close proximity of the campground to a brewpub next door. However, the reviewer noted that the narrow and unlit road made walking there at night feel unsafe, suggesting that local campers intending to visit the brewpub after dark should exercise caution. The reviewer also suggested the installation of a gate for safer pedestrian access.
Considering the contrasting reviews, it seems that Singh RV & Campground may be in a transitional phase with the new ownership potentially addressing some of the previously noted issues. The positive recent review highlights cleanliness, welcoming service, and the presence of wildlife as appealing features. The availability of full hookups and both pull-through and back-in sites caters to different RV needs. The proximity to the Interstate could be a significant advantage for those seeking a convenient stopover while traveling through the Hammond area.
However, local users should also be mindful of the infrastructure concerns raised in the earlier review, such as the condition of the roads and campsites, lighting, and potential noise from the adjacent road. If amenities like picnic tables and fire pits are important for your camping experience, it would be wise to inquire about their availability at specific sites when booking. Similarly, if you plan to use the pool or playground, you may want to ask about their current condition and operational status.
For local campers seeking 'camping near me' for a short overnight stay due to its proximity to the Interstate, Singh RV & Campground might suffice, as one reviewer noted. However, for those considering a longer stay, it would be prudent to gather more current information about the ongoing improvements and the overall condition of the park under the new ownership. Contacting the campground directly at the provided phone numbers is recommended to get the most up-to-date details on site availability, amenities, and any recent upgrades.
In conclusion, Singh RV & Campground offers a location near the Interstate in Hammond, LA, with recent positive feedback regarding new ownership and customer service. It provides full hookup RV sites, including pull-through options, and is reportedly clean with the presence of wildlife. However, potential local campers should be aware of past concerns regarding the condition of the roads and campsites and should inquire about the availability and condition of amenities like picnic tables, fire pits, the pool, and the playground before making a reservation. Direct communication with the campground is recommended to ensure it meets your specific needs for 'camping near me'.

Singh RV & Campground Reviews
Updating this to clarify my comments, which upset the owners. I wish I could give this RV park a better review, but wow - it’s really in bad shape. When we booked it was because of its close proximity to the Interstate. I saw the low ratings, but we just needed a pull-thru site for overnight. It was acceptable for just one night. From the looks of the sign in the park, this was once a KOA Kampground, but it must have failed to live up to KOA standards. My interactions with staff over the phone were good, and the person I spoke with was friendly & polite. We were delayed on our arrival due to a mechanical problem that took us off the road for three hours. I called to let the office know and she was accommodating. She took payment over the phone and messaged me a copy of the campground map and assigned us to site number 1. We appreciated her assistance. We had no interactions with other staff, but I can say the office person was responsive and professional.Driving after dark is something we rarely do, especially when it rainy and windy, but we needed to stay on schedule so we pressed on. We arrived at about 7PM - but the road it’s on is very narrow and isn’t well lit. We had the map, but it wasn’t easy to see how to get to our site so we ended up driving around the park until we finally located our site. There is no lighting and the roads are in terrible shape - potholes & large cracks where there is asphalt, but mostly they were a mix of mud and gravel. There had been a huge downpour of rain, which filled all the potholes and the campsites themselves were muddy. They seriously need some major work - the roads need paving and potholes repaired so they don’t fill with water or shake rigs driving through. The campsites also need work - if they were graveled and the grass was mowed they wouldn’t be so muddy. Our site had FHU with 50A - we used an adapter for our 30A rig. There is a small cement pad for a table, but there are no picnic tables and no fire pits. The sites are so close together, rigs are packed in like sardines. It appears there are only 5 sites not occupied by full-time residents or long-term campers working in the area. The remaining sites for overnight campers are located next to the fence along W Club Road and it was a bit noisy. There is a pool we assume is open in season. It was fenced in and covered. There is a fenced playground, but it was like a swamp. They obviously need to improve drainage. There were no pet waste stations anywhere. We didn’t check out the bathrooms or laundry. The office was closed. It was late and we were tired, so we decided to go out for dinner, but didn’t want to disconnect our TOAD. We wanted to walk to the brewpub next door to the campground, but the narrow road was dark and unlit, so we didn’t feel it was safe at night. They should install a gate so campers can walk next door safely. Ee ended up ordering food from Door Dash.If you need a place to stay for the night, this will suffice but I wouldn’t stay any longer.I apologize if the owner and staff are offended, but over the past three months we have camped in over 40 campgrounds across the U.S., and this was the second worse of them all. This campground could be improved greatly if they would pave the roads, gravel the campsites, and install some signage and lighting. It’s obviously been neglected for years and the current owners do not appear to be correcting the problems.
Dec 12, 2024 · Deb B.Great Park!!! The new owners are so nice. They made me feel welcome as soon as I walked into the office. They even took us to our campsite. Park is very clean with wildlife everywhere (which I love). They have pull through spots and back in spots next to the water. We've been here for 4 days, and I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow. Definitely recommend this park!
May 10, 2023 · Melissa BlayEasy location from highway. Stayed one night just as a stop over. There was some confusion about reservations but staff was friendly and resolved quickly. Sites need better care, but overall we would stop again if traveling through. Great restaurant next door! You should add a gate access to their parking lot. Stay warm and take care.
Jan 19, 2025 · Clay DziobaThis campground has easy access on and off Interstate 20. The manager on duty was very helpful. He quickly returned to the office when we arrived after hours. He showed us to our campsite and even quickly repaired the electric connection when it would not work with our plug. The campground is quiet even though it is at the edge of a large town. The majority of the campers are long-term so there is a lot of stuff around many trailers. It was a good place for a one night stay while traveling.
Jan 07, 2021 · Lacreta CarrVery nice place to stay, the lake is beautiful. The people who run it are really good people. We look forward to coming back again soon.
