South Higgins Lake Campground Reviews
What a beautiful place to visit in the winter! As I’m sure most see this lake in the summer, we had a trip to come watch the SnoDrift rally and stayed in the cabin here. It was all we needed from an amenity standpoint and the beds were actually very comfortable for a camping cabin. Only gripe was that the bathrooms were closed (offseason) so we had a porta potty to use in the frigid temps… but that is to be expected. Awesome place to visit and the park looks to be managed very well!
Feb 11, 2025 · Collin TesreauI love Higgins lake. A beautiful spot to camp. The waters are so clear and shallow for a good distance out. Great for floating and hanging out. Lots to do for the kids, decent parks, base ball diamond, volley ball court, lots of little beaches and a couple dog beaches. The bathrooms are fairly decent and clean. They just need to update the lighting and exhaust fans in the shower rooms. But the best spot to watch the sun sets.
Jun 18, 2024 · Corri RenaudI love this campground it's hard to get last minute reservations for camp sites as they are usually booked pretty solid. Some book months in advance. There is a lot to do here park, beach, rentals for all kinds tubes, canoe, paddle boats plus lots more. There is a boat launch as well right on site. Also the campground store has amazing food
Jun 29, 2024 · Jeremy BrookmanLove this campground. Has the perfect balance of amenities for the perfect Michigan camping weekend. Easy drive from Metro Detroit. Dog friendly with dog beach.Campground huge with beautiful view of Higgins Lake. Bring swimsuits and bikes and get ready for a good time.
May 26, 2024 · Kelly HyerVery beautiful. I wish there was more amenities tho. The "playground" is a see saw from 1980, the bathrooms are too crowded and the beach is very over crowded. It's a nice campground, but I've been to better.
