The same reviewer also mentioned an environmental factor relevant to the Rend Lake area in general: "the raccoons are crazy at night they definitely aren’t scared of people." This serves as a reminder for campers at South Sandusky, and potentially other campgrounds in the vicinity, to take precautions regarding food storage and waste disposal to avoid attracting wildlife to their campsites. Being aware of the local wildlife behavior is essential for a safe and hassle-free camping experience.

For families, the playground and the ease of parking with boats would be particularly attractive. For RV owners, the paved and spacious sites with full amenities nearby would be a major draw.
To further attract local users, South Sandusky campground could provide more details about the specific amenities available, such as the number of shower stalls, the condition of the playground, the availability of water and electrical hookups (though not explicitly mentioned, they are common at developed campgrounds), and any other facilities like restrooms, dump stations, or picnic shelters. Information on reservation policies, fees, and any rules or regulations specific to the campground would also be essential for planning a visit. Jun 07, 2024 · Brianna TerryClean campsites with electrical hookups and bathroom. Helpful staff were present at check-in.
Apr 06, 2025 · C RGreat that they have plumbed toilets. Except for the fact that all the spiders and other species of bugs exist on the walls, and there are cobwebs everywhere. Wisconsin pit toilets are much much cleaner than this. Other than that our site was great, fire pit was a little small but a beautiful location.
