Springhill Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Kokomo, Indiana area, Springhill Campground, located at 623 750 W, Kokomo, IN 46901, USA, offers a potentially enjoyable and convenient camping experience. You can reach them at (765) 883-7433 or +1 765-883-7433 for inquiries and bookings. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground is noted for its peaceful atmosphere, fishing opportunities, and on-site recreational features.
The environment of Springhill Campground is consistently described as "peaceful and quiet," making it an attractive option for local users seeking a tranquil escape from the everyday hustle. One reviewer mentions having "always a good time" when visiting, suggesting a consistently pleasant ambiance. The presence of a lake stocked with "good size catfish" is a significant environmental and recreational feature, appealing to anglers of all levels. This indicates that the campground offers opportunities for fishing in a potentially well-managed water body.
Beyond the lake, another reviewer appreciated the "trails on the property," suggesting that Springhill Campground provides on-site hiking opportunities. These trails would allow guests to explore the natural surroundings of the campground and enjoy some outdoor exercise without having to leave the premises. The combination of a fishing lake and walking trails enhances the appeal for nature lovers and those seeking active recreation during their camping stay.
In terms of services, Springhill Campground caters to RV campers with the provision of water and electricity hookups at most spots. While a direct sewer connection is not available at most sites, the campground offers a convenient solution for waste management. Guests can either pay a fee of $10 to have their tanks pumped out or utilize the on-site dump station for self-service disposal. This flexibility ensures that RV campers can manage their waste effectively during their stay.
One reviewer also noted a positive aspect related to site availability, mentioning that "people move in and out often so there will be a space opening soon." This suggests a relatively dynamic occupancy, which could be beneficial for local users looking for a campsite, as there might be a good turnover of available spots. This could be particularly helpful for those who decide to go camping on shorter notice.
While the overall experience seems positive, one area for potential improvement mentioned by a reviewer is the condition of the bathhouses, which "could use a fresh coat of paint." This suggests that while the facilities are functional (as implied by the provision of water and electricity), their aesthetic appeal might be lacking. However, this comment focuses on appearance rather than functionality, so it may not be a major concern for all campers.
The pricing at Springhill Campground is described as "always fair" by a returning visitor, indicating that the cost is reasonable for the amenities and experience offered. This affordability, combined with the peaceful environment and recreational features, makes it a potentially attractive option for local users looking for value in their "camping near me" search.
Promotional information can be gleaned from the positive reviews. The recurring theme of a "good time," the highlight of "good size catfish" in the lake, and the "peaceful and quiet" atmosphere all serve as strong endorsements. The mention of enjoyable trails further adds to the promotional appeal for those seeking outdoor activities. The fair pricing also acts as a promotional point, suggesting good value for money.
The fact that a reviewer appreciates the frequent turnover of campers, leading to site availability, could also be seen as a unique promotional aspect, suggesting that finding a spot at Springhill Campground might be easier compared to campgrounds with long waiting lists or consistently full occupancy.
For local users searching for "camping near me" who prioritize a tranquil setting with opportunities for fishing and walking, Springhill Campground in Kokomo appears to be a strong contender. The availability of RV hookups (water and electricity) and the convenient waste management options (pump-out service and dump station) cater well to RV travelers. The fair pricing adds to its appeal. While the bathhouses might need some cosmetic upgrades, the overall positive experiences reported by visitors suggest a well-maintained and enjoyable campground.
To summarize the key features and benefits for local users: Springhill Campground offers a peaceful and quiet environment in Kokomo, Indiana. It features a lake stocked with catfish, providing excellent fishing opportunities. There are also trails on the property for walking and exploring. For RV campers, water and electricity hookups are available at most sites, along with convenient options for waste disposal. The pricing is considered fair, and there seems to be a reasonable turnover of campsites, potentially making it easier to find availability. While the bathhouses might benefit from cosmetic improvements, the overall sentiment from reviewers is positive.
Local users interested in a relaxing camping experience with fishing and hiking amenities near Kokomo should consider contacting Springhill Campground at the provided phone numbers to inquire about site availability and any specific details they may need for planning their visit. The combination of natural attractions and essential services at a fair price makes it a noteworthy option in the "camping near me" category.

Springhill Campground Reviews
Always a good time when we go here. Prices are always fair and they stock good size catfish in the lake. It's peaceful and quiet. Great place indeed!
Apr 20, 2025 · Rondello WilliamsWhat I like most about Springhill Campground is that people move in and out often so there will be a space opening soon. I also enjoyed the trails on the property and the fishing pond. The water and electricity worked. Most spots have no sewer but you can pay $10 to have them pump out your tanks or use the dump station. The bathhouses could use a fresh coat of paint.
Oct 01, 2024 · craig hardingWinter 2020 through summer 2021I live in an off-grid camper, so I was placed in an area which doesn't have hookups, and is normally reserved for seasonal tent camping. Turns out that every time it rains heavily, it floods and apparently the stocked pond overflow drains to that location, as well.I was out of town for a weekend and when I came back found out that my camper had been sitting in water WELL ABOVE the wheel wells that entire time. Found out a few residents had notified the owners, but nobody called me so I could have someone move it.The floor is completely ruined now and it took me days to clean all the nasty water and bugs out. I had thought the owners were nice people up until then.
Aug 09, 2021 · burningoblivionThis is NOT a KOA campground! Do your homework before you make a reservation for 3 nights, they don’t refund your unused nights (I know firsthand). With that said if you are looking for a long-term place to park your dilapidated trailer while you hang out to drink beer and fish, look no further. Don’t believe me? Scroll through all the pictures, you’ll get the idea.
