Susquehanna Shores Campground Introduce
Are you searching for a "camping near me" experience along the scenic Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania? Consider Susquehanna Shores Campground, located at 121 Susquehanna Beach Rd, Falls, PA 18615, USA. Based on the reviews from fellow campers, this appears to be a well-maintained, clean, and safe seasonal campground with a friendly owner and a welcoming, family-like atmosphere.
For local users in the "camping near me" category, Susquehanna Shores Campground in Falls offers a beautiful riverside setting on the Susquehanna River. The reviews highlight several key aspects, including its cleanliness, the friendliness of the owner, and the strong sense of community among the campers.
The environment of Susquehanna Shores Campground is primarily defined by its location on the Susquehanna River. One reviewer described the river as "not only beautiful but well-managed, well-maintained and most importantly exceedingly safe." The campground itself is described as "small" but "well maintained and clean." There are different levels within the campground, with the "lower, river level" being more suited for "short timers" or transient campers, while the "upper level seem to be more of the semi-permanent campers." The presence of "large, grassy parking areas" is also noted. Being situated on the river, one should expect "traditional bugs," which is considered "part of the experience."
In terms of services, Susquehanna Shores Campground appears to focus on providing a clean and safe environment. While specific amenities within the campground aren't extensively detailed, the cleanliness and maintenance suggest attention to basic needs. Nearby conveniences include "a laundry" and "down the street a nice, fun little bar with some pretty good food," offering options beyond the campground itself. The friendly owner is also a significant service, with one reviewer thoroughly enjoying them.
The features of Susquehanna Shores Campground, based on the customer reviews, include:
- A location directly on the Susquehanna River, offering scenic views and potential river-related activities.
- A small, well-maintained, and clean campground.
- A friendly and enjoyable owner.
- Designated areas for different types of campers (lower level for short-term visitors, upper level for semi-permanent).
- Large, grassy parking areas.
- A safe and well-managed riverfront.
- A strong sense of community and a "family environment" created by the owners and like-minded campers.
- Proximity to a laundry facility and a local bar with food.
A point of caution is mentioned for those with "a long travel trailer," as there "might be some issue trying to pull your rig off the lower level without dragging bottom." This is not a problem for 5th wheels, and for RVs, it depends on the wheelbase and body length. This suggests that accessibility to the lower level riverfront sites might be a consideration for certain types of RVs.
Promotional information isn't explicitly stated as a discount or special offer, but the positive reviews strongly promote the campground. The emphasis on it being "well-managed, well-maintained and most importantly exceedingly safe," along with the "family environment" created by the owners and campers, makes it an attractive option for those seeking a welcoming and secure camping experience. The beauty of the Susquehanna River itself is also a significant draw.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with a focus on a clean, safe, and community-oriented environment by a beautiful river, Susquehanna Shores Campground in Falls, PA, appears to be an excellent choice. The friendly owner and the sense of camaraderie among the campers contribute to a positive and potentially long-lasting camping experience.
The distinction between the upper and lower levels might be important for those with different camping setups and lengths of stay. Short-term visitors looking to be closer to the river would likely prefer the lower level, while those staying longer might find the upper level more suitable. However, those with long travel trailers should be mindful of potential issues with the lower level access.
The proximity to a laundry facility and a local bar adds a touch of convenience for campers who might need these services during their stay. Overall, Susquehanna Shores Campground seems to offer a pleasant and well-cared-for camping experience on a beautiful stretch of the Susquehanna River.

Susquehanna Shores Campground Reviews
A very nice, small campground. Well maintained and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the owner. The upper level seem to be more of the semi-permanent campers. The lower, river level, more like us. Short timers.Nearby is a laundry and down the street a nice, fun little bar with some pretty good food. The only concern I might suggest is that if you have a long travel trailer, there might be some issue trying to pull your rig off the lower level without dragging bottom. 5th wheels, not a problem. RV’s, it would depend upon your wheelbase and how it compares to the length of the body.Large, grassy parking areas. Yes, you can have your traditional bugs, but hey, you’re on the river. That’s part of the experience.
