Services and Amenities:
It’s important to note that Susquehannock Campground offers a "rustic camping" experience. According to a reviewer, the entire camp is "non electric," and there is "no running water at the sites." However, "potable water is available at the camp entrance," which is a crucial service for campers. Shower facilities are not located directly at Susquehannock Campground but are available at the nearby "7 Points campground," which is mentioned to be about a five-minute drive away. This suggests that while immediate on-site showers are not available, they are accessible within a short distance.
Another reviewer noted "clean bathrooms" and mentioned that "park rangers care and do their job" and that people "come around and clean the restroom every day." This indicates that while the camping is rustic, basic hygiene facilities are maintained. The same reviewer also found the campground to be "too close to other sites" for their liking, which is something to consider if you prioritize more secluded camping. However, they also stated it was "worth it being so close to the lake and mountain bike trails," highlighting the trade-off between site privacy and access to recreational activities.
For local campers looking for "camping near me," understanding these service levels is essential. If you prefer a more amenity-rich campground, the rustic nature of Susquehannock might require some adjustment. Susquehannock Campground - U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Reviews
This is rustic camping at its best! We use a tent only and often find it a challenge to find nice level sites. This campground had great tent sites -- even the waterfront sites are tent suitable. Didn't realize that the whole camp was non electric and no running water at the sites. Potable water is available at the camp entrance. Showers are only available at 7 Points campground which was about a five min drive. But once we got past the lack of amenities in this campground we found the scenic lake and the area had so much to offer! Really beautiful, with great hiking and swimming. Wish we had brought our boat.

Jul 19, 2017 · shawn morrisseyVery nice campground. Primitive sites with no sinks/showers. Some of the sites are all gravel with no grass areas. Some sites have more grass areas which I would have preferred.
