Honey Bear Campground Introduce
Looking for the ideal "camping near me" in the Huntingdon, Pennsylvania area? Honey Bear Campground, located at 11601 Piney Ridge Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652, USA, might just be the perfect destination for your next outdoor adventure. This campground stands out as a family-friendly and pet-friendly location, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a range of features that cater to various camping preferences.
One of the most highlighted aspects of Honey Bear Campground, based on customer reviews, is its exceptional hospitality. The owners, Terry and his wife, are frequently commended for being friendly and very helpful. This personal touch can significantly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel more welcome and supported throughout their stay. Knowing that the owners are approachable and willing to assist can provide peace of mind and contribute to a more enjoyable vacation.
The campground is explicitly described as "family friendly," making it an excellent choice for those traveling with children. A family-friendly environment often implies amenities and an atmosphere that caters to the needs and enjoyment of all age groups. This could include features like play areas, spacious campsites, and a generally relaxed and safe environment where families can create lasting memories together.
For pet owners in the local area searching for "camping near me" that welcomes their furry companions, Honey Bear Campground is also noted as "pet friendly." This is a significant advantage for those who consider their pets part of the family and want them to share in their outdoor experiences. Pet-friendly campgrounds often have designated areas or simply a welcoming attitude towards animals, allowing you to enjoy your camping trip without leaving your beloved pets behind.
Recent customer feedback also mentions "many new upgrades with more planned" at Honey Bear Campground. This indicates that the owners are actively working to improve the facilities and overall experience for their guests. These upgrades could range from improvements to campsites and amenities to the addition of new features. The fact that more upgrades are planned suggests an ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality camping environment.
Another compelling aspect of Honey Bear Campground, as highlighted by a reviewer, is its ability to accommodate large groups. One family of "50+ relatives" from Ohio found it to be a suitable place for their vacation, enjoying their stay in both cabins and campsites. This suggests that the campground offers a variety of accommodation options and has the capacity to host significant numbers of people, making it an excellent choice for family reunions, group outings, or other large gatherings in the Pennsylvania region.
The availability of both "cabins" and "campsites" provides flexibility for different types of travelers. Campsites are ideal for those who enjoy traditional tent camping or have RVs, offering a more immersive outdoor experience. Cabins, on the other hand, provide a more comfortable and sheltered option, often equipped with beds and other basic amenities, which can be appealing to those who prefer a bit more convenience or are new to camping.
While the provided information doesn't detail specific amenities such as the number and type of campsites, the features of the cabins, restroom facilities, or recreational activities, the positive reviews suggest that the campground offers a satisfying experience. To get a comprehensive understanding of all the services and facilities available, local users are encouraged to contact Honey Bear Campground directly at (814) 643-3377 or +1 814-643-3377. Speaking with the owners will allow you to inquire about site availability, pricing, specific amenities (like hookups for RVs, shower facilities, picnic tables, fire rings, etc.), and any current promotional offers.
For local residents seeking "camping near me" that offers a blend of a welcoming and helpful atmosphere, family and pet-friendly policies, and ongoing improvements, Honey Bear Campground in Huntingdon, PA, appears to be a strong contender. Its ability to accommodate large groups and offer both campsites and cabin rentals further broadens its appeal. Apr 01, 2025 · Harry DillonMy family of 50+ relatives & I are all from Ohio. It’s been difficult to find places for all of us to vacation together & we are all enjoying our stay at the cabins/campsites here. Definitely recommend!
Jun 06, 2018 · Jessica OsbornWe loved our stay here! To be fair, it was late season and not too many people here, but everyone we met was friendly. We appreciated the rules as we understand that it helps make the place enjoyable for everyone. The owners were super friendly and helpful. The patrols around the campground were impressive and they always gave us a friendly wave. We were comfortable exploring the area during the day knowing our campsite was under the owner’s watchful eyes! Thank you for a wonderful visit.
Sep 23, 2023 · Kelley HoldenIt's a good place if you want a secure environment. On site shower and toilets. Rustic camping but also has places for RV.
Jul 06, 2019 · PA GIRLIts so tiny and packed in like a tin of sardines. No space to enjoy yourself as an adult, if you were a kid just forget about it there's no where to run around and play without just being up in someone else's site - they are so close together. Cabin was clean though.
