Great up and coming campground! David was able to work us in before opening. It's still under construction, but lots of potential here. With water and electrical hookups, as well as fairly level spots, we were able to find a nice quiet place to camp with the kids while we attended hyperfest at Virginia international raceway. David was super attentive and helpful the whole weekend. Their is a nice short trail in the woods, a creek to check out, and plenty of revolutionary war history here with cannonballs found on site. - James “Jim” Webb

Country Line Creek Campground Introduce

For local residents in the Milton, North Carolina area and those attending events at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), Country Line Creek Campground, located at 540 NC-57, Milton, NC 27305, USA, presents an interesting option for "camping near me." This campground is described as "up and coming" and currently undergoing development, suggesting that while it may have some limitations, it also holds significant potential for future improvements. If you are looking for a no-frills camping experience with basic hookups and a touch of history, this might be a campground to consider, especially given its proximity to VIR.

One early visitor had a positive experience, noting that the owner, David, was accommodating and managed to fit them in before the official opening. This speaks to a willingness to serve guests even during the development phase. The availability of water and electrical hookups, along with fairly level spots, was appreciated, providing essential amenities for a comfortable stay, particularly for those with RVs. The reviewer also found a nice quiet place to camp with their children, indicating that despite ongoing construction, peaceful spots were available. The attentiveness and helpfulness of the owner throughout their weekend stay further contributed to a positive impression.

Adding to the appeal of Country Line Creek Campground are its natural and historical features. A nice short trail in the woods offers an opportunity for a leisurely walk and immersion in nature. The presence of a creek provides a scenic element to explore. Notably, the area is rich in Revolutionary War history, with cannonballs reportedly found on site, adding a unique historical dimension to the camping experience. This blend of natural and historical elements could be particularly attractive to those interested in local heritage and outdoor exploration.

However, another review provides a more nuanced perspective, highlighting the challenges of a campground still under development and managed primarily by the owner. While acknowledging the owner's hard work, the reviewer pointed out a "mixed bag" of experiences. One significant limitation mentioned was the lack of sewer hookups in the front area where they were located. The owner did address this by assisting with their portable tank, indicating a willingness to problem-solve despite the infrastructure not being fully in place.

The same reviewer also noted an inconvenience for their friends with a large RV, who had to move to another spot to empty their tanks after some delay in determining the best course of action. This suggests that facilities for larger rigs might be limited or require specific maneuvering within the campground. The observation that the campground appears to host mostly longer-term residents could also influence the overall atmosphere and availability of short-term sites, especially during peak times.

Another potential limitation mentioned was the small size of the campground, although the reviewer speculated about a possibly overgrown and unused second section on another road, based on information from other websites. This suggests that the current operational area might be limited in capacity. Additionally, the absence of a visible bathhouse could be a significant factor for some campers who rely on these facilities. It's important for potential visitors to inquire specifically about restroom and shower availability when contacting the campground.

The location of the reviewer's site near the road resulted in a less than completely quiet environment, especially during an event weekend. However, they noted that running their air conditioning helped to mitigate the noise. This suggests that while some areas might be quieter than others, proximity to the road could be a factor affecting the ambiance of certain campsites.

A major advantage for those attending events at Virginia International Raceway is the campground's exceptional proximity, being only "3 mins away!" This makes Country Line Creek Campground a highly convenient option for participants and spectators of events at VIR, potentially outweighing some of the current limitations for those primarily focused on event access.

Given that the campground is under development, information regarding specific services and promotional offers is limited in the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at Country Line Creek Campground should directly contact the owner, David, at (336) 432-3385 or +1 336-432-3385 to inquire about the current state of amenities, site availability, pricing, and any potential discounts for local residents or those attending events at VIR. It would be prudent to ask about the availability of sewer hookups at specific sites, the presence and condition of any restroom facilities, and the overall layout of the campground.

For local residents looking for a "camping near me" option that is still evolving, Country Line Creek Campground offers basic water and electrical hookups and a potentially quiet environment in some areas, along with unique historical and natural features. Its close proximity to Virginia International Raceway is a significant draw for event attendees. However, potential visitors should be aware of the ongoing development, potential limitations regarding sewer hookups and bathhouse facilities, and the possibility of road noise in certain areas. Direct communication with the owner is key to getting the most up-to-date information and determining if this campground meets your specific needs and expectations for a local camping experience.
