Paradise Lake and Campground Introduce
For local users searching within the "camping near me" category, Paradise Lake and Campground, located at 593 Keeling Dr, Keeling, VA 24566, USA, presents a campground with potentially beautiful views and a wooded environment. While situated in Virginia, it may be a viable option for those in nearby areas of North Carolina or southern Virginia seeking a getaway. You can contact them at (434) 836-2620 or +1 434-836-2620 to inquire about campsite availability, specific amenities, and the current conditions of the campground.
Based on recent customer reviews, the environment at Paradise Lake and Campground offers both appealing and challenging aspects. The location is noted as "good" and "not far off the highway," providing convenient access for travelers. The campground is described as "beautiful" with "lots of trees," suggesting a scenic and shaded setting that many campers appreciate. Some sites are mentioned as having "beautiful views," enhancing the natural appeal. However, it's important to note that some campsites are described as "very small on a hillside," which could pose a challenge for leveling and maneuvering, particularly for larger RVs. One reviewer with a 16QBX found the site small. Another reviewer with a 30' camper indicated it "could be a tight squeeze" for larger rigs. Therefore, local users with larger campers should inquire specifically about site sizes and accessibility. The presence of a lake, implied by the name, suggests potential water-related activities, although this is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. For local users who value natural beauty and a wooded setting, Paradise Lake and Campground has potential, but careful consideration of campsite size and layout based on your equipment is advisable.
The services and features at Paradise Lake and Campground appear to have some variability based on the timing of the visits. One reviewer who stayed for a single night mentioned that the "bathrooms were in Desperate need of a cleaning!" and that they "couldn’t find the dump station" with "no one in office till 10am." This suggests that during the off-season or at certain times, the level of maintenance and staff availability might be lower. This reviewer also felt that "the place looked like they were not ready for campers." In contrast, another reviewer who visited during the "off season" noted that the "bathhouse was warm & had hot water," indicating that at least some basic amenities were functional. The discrepancy in these experiences suggests that the condition and service levels might vary depending on the time of year or the specific circumstances. It is crucial for local users to inquire about the availability and condition of essential services such as restrooms, showers, dump stations, and office hours when making a reservation. The proximity to a "new casino," mentioned as only a "20+ minute drive," is a notable feature for those interested in entertainment options beyond the campground itself. However, information on other typical campground amenities like laundry facilities, recreational areas, or specific hookup details (water, electricity, sewer) is not provided in the reviews. Local users should ask for a comprehensive list of available services and features when contacting Paradise Lake and Campground.
Key features of Paradise Lake and Campground include its potentially scenic location with beautiful views and a wooded environment. Its proximity to a casino (a 20+ minute drive) offers an additional recreational option for visitors. The availability of a bathhouse with warm and hot water, at least during the off-season according to one review, is another feature to consider. However, the small and hillside nature of some campsites, particularly for larger RVs, and the reported issues with bathroom cleanliness and dump station access during at least one visit, are important factors to be aware of. The variable experiences suggest that the readiness and maintenance of the campground might fluctuate. Local users should prioritize direct communication to understand the current state of the campground and whether it meets their specific needs and expectations.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional details for Paradise Lake and Campground. One reviewer expressed hope that the campground would be "cleaned up by summer," which isn't a promotion but rather an expectation of improvement. Local users interested in potential discounts for off-season stays, longer visits, or any other special offers should contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about seasonal rates and any ongoing promotions will help local campers make an informed decision based on their budget and desired travel dates.
In conclusion, for local users in the "camping near me" category considering a trip to Paradise Lake and Campground in Keeling, VA, the location offers the potential for beautiful views and a pleasant wooded setting, with the added convenience of being near a casino. However, it's essential to be aware of the reported limitations regarding campsite size, especially for larger RVs, and the potential for variability in the cleanliness of facilities and the availability of services, particularly during the off-season. Local users are strongly encouraged to contact Paradise Lake and Campground directly at (434) 836-2620 or +1 434-836-2620 to get the most current information on campsite availability and sizes, the condition of amenities, office hours, dump station access, and any potential promotional offers. This direct communication will be crucial in determining if Paradise Lake and Campground is the right choice for your local camping needs.

Paradise Lake and Campground Reviews
Location was good . Not far off the highway . Bathrooms were in Desperate need of a cleaning !Site had beautiful views but were very small on a hillside. We have a 16QBX.Only stayed 1night but couldn’t find the dump station and no one was in office till 10am . The place looked like they were not ready for campers . I’m sure it’s cleaned up by summer (at least I would hope so )
Mar 20, 2025 · Kathy SedlockBeautiful campground. Lots of trees. It could be a tight squeeze for a larger camper (we have 30'). We were here on the off season, we look forward to coming again in warmer weather. We stayed here so we could go to the new casino. It's only a 20+ minute drive. Bathhouse was warm & had hot water.
Jan 01, 2025 · Margo Kean-BellileMy fiancé was working working in the area and we needed a place to set up our camper for a few months, we got denied by multiple places and all the other places near by were just terrible looking! We found this place and they immediately understood our situation and found an available spot for us to stay, their rates were very reasonable. They have all the necessities as well (Laundry room, showers/bathrooms, pool+ lake, convience store+ game room/arcade where they sell propane, ice, snacks, drinks, some health supplies, fishing supplies, ice cream and movies!) there are walking trails through out the whole campground with beautiful scenery year round!! It is family ran and they all have the southern hospitality that comforts you! It is a clean park and bathrooms are cleaned daily! I would definitely recommend and I hope to be back one day!
Jan 09, 2025 · Hope SheaThis is a beautiful campground, there are well placed sites with amazing views of the lake, it's so peaceful, during the week it's very quiet, rarely more than a person or two at the pool. Weekends are a little busier, but all the children we interacted with were so nice, considerate of the smaller children, really just a pleasure to see families having fun, and no drama at all. Everyone we encountered was pleasant. The pool was nice, clean, chilly in the mornings and nice for a dunk in the hot weather. My granddaughter loved it!WiFi worked fine at our site, totally happy with that.We tent camp, I have smaller 6 man tents and large 12 man tents, any would easily fit the drive up sites. There is gravel so bring a heavy duty tarp to put under your tent, maybe even a rug for inside if you are there a few days. Some sites have those pokey chestnuts. Each site has a fire ring, a picnic table and you can back right up so no lugging the heavy stuff around. The staff was helpful and friendly, the office has a little store with the basics, the store grill has hotdogs and ice cream and a couple other things. They normally sell wood but we're out while we were there, but there was still a little pile left at our site which covered our one night. They also have bags of ice, super handy. We will be back for sure, we had a great time. In fact I'll be back by myself for a peaceful ME night and leave all the twerps at home. 😁 Normally I'm a fan of rustic camping, but this place is just so pretty. Love the goose brigade too!
Jun 14, 2024 · Melissa Kip (Mak)Me my wife and my 2 year old recently stayed 3 nights here it was nice .Friendly staff ,pool and easy walking trail around the lake. I would come here when I was around 8 years old and it's good to see it's getting taken care of til this day, so it was nice to see it after not being there in 24 years. This would be my pick next time I'm in the area. Thank you.
