I lived there for a yr. At first I was under the impression that it was a wonderful welcoming facility. Well it's not! The owners are very Evil , selfish and will do anything for there best interests. Especially when it comes to money. Do not stay there!!! It's a dirty facility and most of the the place does not work or function properly. I say this as TRUTH not being vindictive. - James C

Talking Trees Campground Introduce

For local residents seeking "camping near me" in the Hodgen, Oklahoma area, Talking Trees Campground, situated at 53152 US-59, Hodgen, OK 74939, USA, presents a potential option. With phone numbers (918) 653-2187 and +1 918-653-2187 provided for contact, this campground has received varied feedback from visitors, which prospective campers should consider when making their decisions.

The environment of Talking Trees Campground is described by one reviewer as a "beautiful place." This suggests that the natural surroundings may be a significant positive aspect of the campground, potentially featuring scenic views, trees, and a generally appealing outdoor setting. Such an environment could be attractive to those looking to escape the urban landscape and immerse themselves in nature. However, another reviewer describes the facility as "dirty," indicating a potential discrepancy in the perceived cleanliness of the grounds. This contrast highlights the importance of considering multiple perspectives when evaluating the campground's environment.

In terms of services and features, specific details are somewhat limited in the provided reviews. One former long-term resident expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that "most of the the place does not work or function properly." This is a serious concern that potential campers should be aware of. On the other hand, a visitor who did not stay overnight noted that the "grounds" appeared "clean," again presenting a conflicting view. The discrepancy could be due to different experiences, the specific areas observed, or changes in the campground over time. It is advisable for interested campers to inquire directly about the operational status of essential facilities and the general upkeep of the campground.

One interesting environmental detail mentioned is the proximity of a prison. However, the reviewer who noted this also stated that it "isnt a ugly sight" and that the nearby gardens of the facility are "quite a pretty sight." This suggests that while the presence of a correctional institution might be a concern for some, it may not detract from the aesthetic appeal of the immediate surroundings for all visitors. This is a unique aspect of the location that potential campers might want to consider based on their personal preferences.

Pricing is briefly addressed in one review, stating that the campground is "reasonably priced." This could be a significant factor for budget-conscious travelers searching for "camping near me" that offers affordability. However, it's important to note that this comment comes from someone who did not stay overnight, so their assessment of value might be based on different criteria than someone who utilized the facilities extensively.

The negative review raises serious allegations about the owners, describing them as "very Evil, selfish" and motivated primarily by "their best interests," particularly concerning money. The reviewer advises others to "Do not stay there!!!" based on these personal experiences and the perceived state of the facility. Such strong negative feedback should not be ignored and warrants careful consideration by potential campers. It is important to remember that this is one individual's opinion, but it highlights potential issues with management and customer service.

In contrast, the more positive review, while from a non-overnight visitor, praises the "clean grounds" and the ease of dealing with the staff when inquiring. This suggests that interactions can be positive, and at least some aspects of the campground are well-maintained. The reviewer's willingness to give the place 5 stars if they had stayed the night indicates a generally favorable impression based on their limited experience.

Given the conflicting nature of these reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of the services and features of Talking Trees Campground without further information. Potential campers might want to inquire specifically about:

  • Types of campsites available (tent, RV, or both).
  • Availability and functionality of essential amenities such as restrooms, showers, water sources, and electrical hookups.
  • The cleanliness of the facilities and grounds.
  • The campground's policies and any associated fees.
  • The proximity and potential impact of the nearby correctional facility.
  • The responsiveness and helpfulness of the management.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. Local users searching for "camping near me" who are interested in Talking Trees Campground should directly contact the facility using the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current specials, discounts, or long-term stay options. They may also want to ask about the specific amenities offered and the current condition of the campground based on the recent negative feedback.

In conclusion, Talking Trees Campground in Hodgen, Oklahoma, presents a mixed picture based on the available reviews. While one visitor found the location "beautiful" and the grounds "clean" (though they did not stay overnight), a former long-term resident reported significant issues with the facility's functionality, cleanliness, and the behavior of the owners. The campground is reportedly "reasonably priced" and easily accessible. The proximity to a correctional facility with attractive gardens is a unique environmental factor. For local users considering this "camping near me" option, it is strongly recommended to contact the campground directly, ask detailed questions about the current conditions and services, and weigh the contrasting experiences reported by previous visitors before making a decision.
