One reviewer described the thrill of finding this "beautiful, remote campground," emphasizing the feeling of being surrounded by wilderness. Located within the expansive Tate's Hell State Forest, known for its diverse ecosystems and natural beauty, the campground provides an opportunity to disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with nature. For local users seeking a genuine escape from urban noise and crowds, the remoteness of Cash Creek Campground is a significant draw, promising a peaceful and immersive outdoor experience.
Limited Sites for an Intimate Experience
The intimate size of Cash Creek Campground, with only 12 total campsites, contributes to its tranquil atmosphere. This limited number of sites ensures that the campground never feels overcrowded, allowing visitors to truly appreciate the peace and quiet of their surroundings. Notably, six of these twelve sites are equipped with both power and potable water, offering a degree of convenience for campers who prefer these amenities while still enjoying a wilderness setting. The availability of these powered and watered sites caters to a range of camping preferences, from those who prefer basic camping to those who desire a bit more comfort during their "camping near me" adventure.
Convenient Access and Big Rig Friendly
Despite its remote feel, accessing Cash Creek Campground is reported to be relatively easy. The .5-mile dirt road leading into the campground is described as "well maintained" and even "big rig friendly." This is excellent news for local users who travel in larger recreational vehicles, as it assures them that the campground is accessible without significant difficulty. The well-maintained road also suggests that the campground is managed with care, contributing to a positive overall experience from the moment of arrival.
Direct Access to Cash Creek and a Boat Dock
A standout feature of Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground is its direct location on Cash Creek. This provides campers with immediate access to the waterway, enhancing the recreational opportunities available. The presence of a boat dock further emphasizes the potential for water-based activities such as fishing and exploring the creek by boat. One reviewer specifically mentioned looking forward to "some evening fishing," highlighting the appeal for anglers. For local users who enjoy being near or on the water, the direct creek access and boat dock at Cash Creek Campground are significant advantages, offering both relaxation and opportunities for aquatic adventures.
Clean Facilities and Attentive Host
The positive experiences of recent campers extend to the campground's facilities and management. One reviewer who stayed for three nights in spot 57 praised the cleanliness of the campground, noting the availability of trash bins and a "clean shower room with HOT water." Clean and well-maintained facilities are essential for a comfortable camping experience, and the positive feedback in this regard suggests that Cash Creek Campground prioritizes the comfort of its visitors. Furthermore, the host, Bruce, is commended for being "always available for questions" and for personally greeting guests upon arrival. An attentive and welcoming host can greatly enhance a camping trip, providing assistance and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The positive interaction with the host adds to the overall appeal of this "camping near me" destination.
A Haven for Peace, Quiet, and Nature Lovers
The overall sentiment from the reviews strongly recommends Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground for those who value "peace and quiet and nature." The combination of the remote location within a state forest, the limited number of campsites, and the direct access to Cash Creek creates an environment conducive to relaxation and immersion in the natural world. Local users seeking a tranquil escape where they can enjoy the sounds of nature, engage in activities like fishing and potentially boating, and experience a sense of wilderness will likely find Cash Creek Campground to be an ideal destination.
Limited Information on Other Services and Features
While the reviews provide valuable insights into the environment, facilities (limited power/water sites, clean showers, boat dock), and the host's attentiveness, there is limited information available regarding other potential services and features at Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground. Apr 26, 2025 · Julie JordanHighly recommend this campground. We stayed for 3 quiet nights in spot 57. Very clean, trash bins available and clean shower room with HOT water. The host, Bruce was always available for questions and greeted us when we arrived. We hope to be back!
Feb 01, 2024 · Matt and MandyEasy access for RVs and campers. Boat launch ramp for trailered boats and hand launched vessels. There is a small dock. Not ideal for tent camping as the sites are very open and there are only a few. There is a vault toilet facility. Each camp site has a table and fire ring. There is a nature trail and a shaded open area with a covered picnicking pavilion.
