Tawas Point Campground Reviews
I love this campground because of its proximity to water/beach/bay. There are beautiful sites right on the lake. The bathrooms are clean. The campground is well maintained. There is playground. The beach is fairly small but the shore is long and it’s never over crowded. The bay is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and more. The weather is pretty shallow T the beach making it nice and safe for little kids. Easy trials good for family walks.
Jun 15, 2023 · Zofia RomanczukMy first state park experience. It was very clean and well maintained. Good crowd that seemed to be all families. The bay is very shallow for a long way out. Great for young kids and dogs. We spent most of our time at the dog beach.
Aug 07, 2024 · Mike ArethaHave been here three times and love it.The dog beach is exceptional and our gsp had a great time. Even at 13, she ran and played. We had campsite number 64. The sites there are big. The only thing I might add is that the willow tree could use some limbs cut off. One had been trimmed but was still low enough that it could damage a trailer roof. Luckily we fit and could still put our awning out.Otherwise we would recommend a visit there if you e never been. A short walk out to the point to see the lighthouse and some amazing sunsets. We will be back….
Aug 28, 2023 · Deborah Conner-PerryThis campground was super picturesque, clean and affordable. My family and I spent 2 days here and the bathrooms and showers were very clean! We spent the night in their available “Mini Cabins” and they were so cool!! There are a ton of nearby trails that lead to a playground, a dog beach and even the Tawas Point Lighthouse as well! Overall a great peaceful family campground.
Jun 11, 2021 · Nathan KoelewynGreat state park campground. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Park was clean. Lots of spots for swimming and a beach for the pets. We loved this trip! Typical state park amenities, electric and no fresh water hookups. The squirrels are determined and WILL chew into anything you leave out that might have once had food near it or try to snatch food off your table when you aren’t paying attention. Our sites flooded pretty badly in heavy rain but the kids had fun!
