The Great Escape Cabin Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience that combines the comfort of a modern cabin with the beauty and adventure of the Kentucky mountains? The Great Escape Cabin, located at 890 Cliffview Rd, Campton, KY 41301, USA, offers a promising option for families and groups seeking a secluded getaway. Situated in close proximity to natural attractions and outdoor activities, this cabin rental aims to provide a memorable vacation experience. Based on recent customer reviews, The Great Escape Cabin boasts a new building with an open floor plan, abundant natural light, and a range of appealing amenities.
According to one reviewer, The Great Escape Cabin is a "very nice spot for a family vacation in the Kentucky mountains with proximity to nature and fun things to do." This highlights the cabin's location as a key feature, suggesting easy access to the natural wonders and recreational opportunities that the Kentucky mountains have to offer. The cabin itself is described as a new building with a desirable open floor plan, which typically fosters a sense of spaciousness and togetherness for groups. The abundance of natural light is also noted as a positive aspect, contributing to a bright and inviting atmosphere inside the cabin.
The amenities provided at The Great Escape Cabin are a significant draw. The kitchen is equipped with essential appliances, including a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, and microwave, allowing guests the convenience of preparing their own meals. The inclusion of charging stations is a thoughtful touch for modern travelers needing to keep their devices powered. Wi-Fi and a TV offer entertainment options for downtime, while the provision of board games suggests opportunities for family fun and relaxation indoors. Guests can also enjoy the outdoors on the deck, and the inclusion of towels and linens adds to the convenience, reducing the amount of packing required. A hot tub is also mentioned as a "huge plus," although one reviewer did not use it due to warm weather, they acknowledged its presence as a valuable amenity.
The cleanliness of the cabin upon arrival was also commended, with the reviewer noting that "the staff got the place nice and clean for us." This indicates a commitment to maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests. The cabin is also described as secluded, with "virtually no one near you," offering a sense of privacy and tranquility that many seek in a mountain retreat. The surrounding environment is characterized by "plenty of nature," allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Kentucky mountains.
While the overall experience appears to be positive, one reviewer did point out a couple of minor issues. Firstly, there was a discrepancy between the website's claim of a "fully stocked" kitchen and the actual inventory. Specifically, items like wine glasses, a wine opener, tumblers, and larger bowls were missing. The reviewer did note that the staff promptly provided a wine opener and wine glasses upon request, indicating a responsive management. However, the emptiness of many shelves and cabinets raised questions about whether other expected items were absent. Secondly, despite the cabin supposedly sleeping six people, there were only two deck chairs and two bar chairs, making it challenging for a group of four to comfortably sit and spend time together outdoors. This suggests a potential limitation in outdoor seating for larger groups.
Another reviewer corroborated the cabin's secluded nature and the abundance of morning light. They also reiterated that the hot tub is a significant advantage and mentioned that the cabin has beds for "6+ people," reinforcing its capacity for larger groups. However, this reviewer offered a practical piece of advice, suggesting that a 4x4 vehicle might be necessary to navigate the driveway, implying that the terrain leading to the cabin could be somewhat challenging, particularly for vehicles with lower clearance.
Considering these reviews, The Great Escape Cabin offers a modern and well-equipped accommodation option for those seeking "camping near me" with a touch of luxury and seclusion in the Kentucky mountains. The open floor plan, natural light, and amenities like a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, and hot tub are significant advantages. Its proximity to nature and potential for outdoor activities make it appealing for families and groups wanting to explore the region. However, prospective guests should be aware of the potential need for a 4x4 vehicle to access the property and should inquire about the current inventory of the kitchen to ensure it meets their needs. Additionally, groups larger than four should confirm the availability of adequate seating, especially for outdoor areas.
For local users in Kentucky and surrounding areas looking for a family vacation or a nature-filled escape, The Great Escape Cabin presents a compelling option. Its modern amenities provide comfort and convenience, while its secluded location offers peace and privacy. The proximity to the Kentucky mountains suggests opportunities for hiking, exploring, and enjoying the natural beauty of the region. While the reviews provide valuable insights, it is always recommended to contact the property management directly to confirm details about the cabin and address any specific concerns before booking.
In conclusion, The Great Escape Cabin in Campton, KY, offers a modern and secluded retreat in a beautiful mountain setting. With its open floor plan, ample amenities including a hot tub and full kitchen, and positive feedback regarding cleanliness and staff responsiveness, it stands out as a desirable "camping near me" option for families and groups. However, potential guests should consider the advice regarding vehicle type and inquire about the kitchen inventory and seating arrangements to ensure a fully satisfactory stay.

The Great Escape Cabin Reviews
Very nice spot for a family vacation in the Kentucky mountains with proximity to nature and fun things to do. The Great Escape is a new building with an open floor plan, lots of natural light, and great amenities (kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, oven, and microwave; charging stations, wifi, TV, board games, deck, towels and linens). The staff got the place nice and clean for us. We didn't use the hot tub (weather was hot all week) so I can't comment on its quality, but it is nice that they have it! I have just a couple of minor nitpicks:- The website claims the kitchen is "fully stocked", but there weren't any wine glasses, wine opener, tumblers, or bowls larger than cereal/prep bowls. To their credit, the staff were able to get us a wine opener and some wine glasses when we asked. But a lot of the shelves and cabinets were totally empty, which made us wonder if we were missing some items that were supposed to have come with the cabin.- The cabin supposedly sleeps six, and we had four people staying there, but there were only 2 deck chairs and 2 bar chairs, so it was hard to find places for everyone to sit and spend time together.
