The Holly Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" in the Holly, Michigan area, The Holly Campground, located at 7072 Grange Hall Rd, Holly, MI 48442, USA, presents itself as a potential option. You can reach them at (248) 634-0803 or their mobile number +1 248-634-0803 for inquiries. However, it is crucial for prospective campers to be aware of recent customer feedback which raises significant concerns about the campground's pricing, site conditions, amenities, and customer service.
The environment of The Holly Campground is described by one reviewer as a "great location," suggesting that it may be situated in a desirable area with convenient access to local attractions or natural beauty. Another positive aspect mentioned is the presence of "awesome" play areas for kids, indicating that the campground may be family-friendly and offer recreational facilities for children. These positive remarks suggest a potentially appealing environment for families looking for outdoor activities for their children in a convenient location near Holly. However, these positive aspects are overshadowed by significant negative feedback regarding other environmental and amenity-related issues. One guest reported a "terrible" site, although specific details about what made the site terrible are not provided. Another serious concern raised is "rusty" water at the hookup, which allegedly caused rust stains on a brand new motorhome from dripping. This suggests a potential issue with the campground's water supply that could be problematic for RV owners and potentially other campers relying on campground water hookups. These contrasting views on the location and the serious water quality concern paint a mixed picture of the overall environment and immediate campsite conditions.
The services and features of The Holly Campground, based on recent reviews, appear to have significant shortcomings in the experiences of some guests. One reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the cost, stating it was "over 100.00 per night" and deemed the site "terrible." This suggests that the pricing may be perceived as high relative to the quality of the campsites and overall experience. The same reviewer also reported an issue with additional charges for day visitors, noting a discrepancy between the phone quote ($10 per person) and the actual charge ($15 per person), with the host claiming a price increase on that very day. This raises concerns about transparency and potential inconsistencies in pricing policies. Another significant service failure reported was the lack of hot water in a rented cabin with a shower and toilet for the entire duration of the stay. Friends in a neighboring cabin reportedly experienced the same issue. The response to these complaints was also criticized, with no manager on site and a refusal of any compensation at the time of the issue. A belated email offering a 15% discount code with a very short expiration period (next week) was seen as inadequate and dismissive by the affected guest, highlighting serious customer service deficiencies. While the presence of play areas for kids can be considered a feature, the lack of functioning basic amenities like hot water and the issues with water quality and pricing significantly detract from the overall value and service quality experienced by some visitors. The lack of on-site management and the handling of complaints also raise concerns about the campground's operational efficiency and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key features of The Holly Campground, as gleaned from the limited positive feedback, include its potentially "great location" and the presence of "awesome" play areas for children. These could be attractive features for families seeking a campground in the Holly area with recreational facilities for kids. However, the negative reviews highlight critical issues that may outweigh these potential benefits for many campers. The reported rusty water is a significant negative feature that could impact the usability of water hookups and potentially damage equipment. The high cost per night, especially when coupled with "terrible" site conditions (unspecified), diminishes the value proposition. The unreliable hot water in cabins with showers and toilets renders these paid amenities unusable and represents a major failure in basic facilities. The inconsistent pricing for day visitors and the manner in which the price change was communicated also indicate a lack of transparency and potentially poor management practices. The inadequate response to complaints, including the absence of on-site management and the unsatisfactory compensation offered, further detracts from any positive features the campground might possess. The short expiration period of the offered discount code adds insult to injury, suggesting a lack of genuine effort to rectify the negative experience. Therefore, while the location and play areas might be considered features, they are overshadowed by significant and unresolved issues with site quality, essential amenities, pricing, and customer service.
Currently, no positive promotional information is available for The Holly Campground in the provided reviews. In fact, the recent feedback strongly advises against staying there due to the reported negative experiences. The belated email offering a 15% discount code with a very short expiration period could be considered a form of attempted promotion, but it was perceived negatively by the recipient due to the unresolved issues and the perceived inadequacy of the offer. Given the severity of the complaints regarding pricing, site conditions, water quality, and the lack of essential amenities like hot water, it would be prudent for prospective campers to seek more recent reviews from other sources before considering a stay at The Holly Campground. Any potential promotional offers should be carefully evaluated in light of the reported negative experiences and the campground's apparent lack of effective customer service and maintenance.
In conclusion, while The Holly Campground near Holly, MI, may boast a "great location" and "awesome" play areas for kids, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture. High pricing, "terrible" site conditions, rusty water, unreliable hot water in cabins, inconsistent pricing for day visitors, and poor customer service are significant issues reported by recent guests. The inadequate handling of complaints and the seemingly dismissive follow-up further compound these concerns. For local users seeking "camping near me," it is strongly recommended to exercise caution and thoroughly research recent feedback from multiple sources before considering a stay at The Holly Campground. The potential benefits of the location and play areas may be outweighed by the reported negative experiences with essential amenities, site quality, and overall management. Prospective campers should weigh these factors carefully and consider alternative campgrounds in the Holly, MI area that may offer a more reliable and satisfactory experience.

The Holly Campground Reviews
It cost us over 100.00 per night, site was terrible, and the water was rusty, and left rust all over the side of our brand new motorhome from dripping hook up, than they told me on the phone that if my son and daughter in law came for the day it would cost me 10.00 more per person. But when they came I was charged 15.00 per person. Host stated that it just went up that day.. lol we have traveled since 2003 and never had a campground so bad. We have stayed at beautiful resorts in arizona that didn’t cost as much. Will not camp here again..
Jan 29, 2025 · G berryGreat location. We had a lot of fun and the play areas for kids were awesome. The reason I give ONE star, is because we paid a LOT of money for a cabin with a shower and toilet. The entire time we were there, the hot water didn’t work in the cabin we were in. Our friends in the cabin next door had the same issue. When we complained, there was no manager on site, and they refused any compensation. We got an email today apologizing for our inconvenience, and offered a discount code for 15% off our next stay, that expires next week. 🤣 I’d say there is lots of potential for this to be a great place to stay, with better management, customer service, and fixing their facilities. This was our first experience there, and I have great confidence that we will not return.
Oct 08, 2024 · Patricia JeromeI am SO glad I did not listen to the bad reviews - my family had a great time this past weekend! Honestly it is like a kid’s paradise, and they LOVED everything - the Putt Putt, laser tag, jumping pillow, playground, bikes, pool, ice cream, pizza - literally everything. If you have kids this is the place to go. The cabin was clean and beds weren’t terrible for cabin beds, bathrooms were MUCH cleaner than I expected, the store was awesome. The staff were all super friendly, accommodating, and delivered pizza and firewood to our cabins. Also love that it is dog friendly with a modest dog park, bags provided! We will definitely come back and stay again next summer.
Jun 16, 2024 · Stephanie MilenLove this place and will be back. Lots of areas for families. The camp store was really nice and the pizza, delivered to our site from the store, was delicious! The ice cream made on site was good and the prices were even better. Already looking to book for some time next summer.Have to edit my review. There are only a few rv sites with sewer service. Even labeled full hookup, it is only water and electricity. This is not a big deal because they dump service that you can have come around and there are 3 dump stations as you leave the grounds. We were going to hit the dump stations leaving the gounds. As we were first there on Sunday morning we pulled up to the front station so others could fit behind us. We did our thing then were having issues getting the water to rinse out for the sanitizer. After thinking we were doing something wrong for a good 20 minutes the lady behind us told us the station does not work. None of them do except the middle one. No signs, no warning, nothing. Now there is a 5 rv pile up behind us of people waiting to leave. This was unacceptable from our view when a simple sign could have fixed the entire issue. Will still go back but will make sure to get a FULL hookup with sewer this time so I don't have to deal with broken stations at the end.
Oct 27, 2024 · Rebecca KThe location was the best part of the park. The back in sites had at least a 3 foot drop from road.almost tore off black tank pipes off trying to pull out. The play structure was dirty ( needs to be power washed) they are definitely understaffed. They definitely have a lot for kids if they could keep maintained- it was NOT maintained. For the price of campsites was expecting a lot more- half of the fire pits were full of grass and sites were not mowed. 1st and last time visiting
