the Shrine Park Introduce
For local residents in Macon, Georgia, seeking a versatile location that can serve both as a 'camping near me' option and a venue for various events, the Shrine Park, situated at 222 Shrine Park Drive, Macon, GA 31216, USA, offers a unique proposition. Based on the available customer reviews, the Shrine Park appears to be a well-maintained and clean facility that caters to both recreational vehicle travelers looking for a comfortable overnight stay and individuals planning parties or family gatherings. This dual functionality makes it a noteworthy option for a range of local needs.
The environment of the Shrine Park appears to be well-kept and clean, as highlighted by both reviewers. One visitor attending a Super Bowl party noted that "The grounds and venue are always kept in nice shape and clean." This suggests that the park takes pride in its appearance and maintains a tidy environment for all its visitors, whether they are camping or attending an event. Another reviewer specifically described the campground as "Safe, clean, quiet," indicating a peaceful and secure setting for overnight stays. While the reviews do not delve into specific natural features such as extensive woodlands or waterfront access, the emphasis on cleanliness and being well-kept suggests a pleasant and orderly outdoor space. Local users seeking a campground that prioritizes cleanliness and a sense of security will likely find this appealing.
In terms of services, the Shrine Park offers different amenities depending on whether one is utilizing the campground or the event venue facilities. For campers, one reviewer explicitly mentions "full water, electric, sewer hook ups at a fair price of $40." This is a significant service for RV travelers, providing all the essential utilities for a comfortable stay. The availability of full hookups makes the Shrine Park a convenient option for those with recreational vehicles who require these connections. The reviewer also noted using the "rest rooms and shower," describing them as "Nothing fancy but clean," which indicates that basic hygiene facilities are available for campers. The absence of other amenities mentioned by the reviewer ("No amenities but well kept") suggests that the focus of the campground is on providing the essential hookups and clean facilities rather than extensive recreational offerings like a pool or organized activities. However, the core needs of RV campers seem to be adequately met.
For those using the Shrine Park as an event venue, the first review highlights its suitability for "anyone who plans on having a party, family function etc." The fact that the reviewer was a repeat visitor ("this was my second time at the shrine park") and recommends the venue suggests that it is well-equipped to handle such events. While specific details about the venue's features (e.g., indoor spaces, pavilions, seating capacity) are not provided, the positive recommendation implies that it offers the necessary infrastructure and a pleasant environment for hosting various types of gatherings. The well-kept grounds likely contribute to the overall appeal of the venue for outdoor events as well.
The features of the Shrine Park are somewhat discernible from the reviews. For campers, the primary features are the level and well-maintained RV sites with full hookups, the availability of clean (though basic) restrooms and showers, and the quiet and safe atmosphere. The fair price of $40 for these services, as mentioned by one reviewer, also stands out as a positive feature, suggesting good value for the amenities provided. The quiet nature of the campground is particularly appealing for those seeking a peaceful night's rest.
As an event venue, the key features appear to be the well-maintained and clean grounds, the capacity to host parties and family functions, and the positive experiences of previous event organizers and attendees. The fact that a visitor returned for a second event and highly recommends the venue speaks to its suitability and quality for such purposes. While specific features like the size of event spaces or available equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, sound systems) are not detailed, the overall impression is of a functional and well-cared-for venue.
Regarding promotional information, the reviews themselves serve as a form of positive promotion. The recommendation for the event venue based on repeated positive experiences and the description of the campground as safe, clean, quiet, and fairly priced are strong endorsements for local users. The price of $40 for full hookups is a specific piece of information that could attract budget-conscious RV travelers in the area. However, no specific promotional offers such as discounts for longer stays or special event packages are mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in such promotions would likely need to contact the Shrine Park directly to inquire about any current offers.
For local users in Macon, GA, searching for 'camping near me,' the Shrine Park offers a solid option, particularly for RV owners who require full hookups and appreciate a clean, quiet, and safe environment at a reasonable price. While the amenities might be basic, the essential needs of RV camping are met, and the positive feedback regarding cleanliness and safety is reassuring. Additionally, for those planning local events such as parties or family functions, the Shrine Park presents itself as a well-maintained and recommended venue, suggesting a reliable option for hosting gatherings.
To gain more specific information about the Shrine Park, both for camping and event hosting, local users are encouraged to contact the facility directly. Feb 19, 2025 · Macon ChangeSafe, clean, quiet campground. No amenities but well kept and full water, electric, sewer hook ups at a fair price of $40. Used the rest rooms and shower. Nothing fancy but clean. I would visit again.
Jun 12, 2024 · Mike RobertsNothing fancy in the least. Unlevel field parking. No amenities but the area is very nice and quiet. Beautiful pond and walking areas. The price of $40 was very reasonable.
Apr 21, 2024 · Mark & Pauline CoontzThis is a basic campground designed to be very affordable. At the time of this writing, it is $35/night for full hookups (cash price). There is a wifi, but you can only use it for one device. Being close to the freeway, it is surprisingly quiet and yet close enough to get to downtown Macon.
