Three T’s Introduce
For local residents in the Tomahawk, Wisconsin area seeking a 'camping near me' experience in a cabin setting, Three T’s, located at 2051 The Point Rd E, Tomahawk, WI 54487, USA, presents a lodging option that warrants careful consideration based on recent customer feedback. While the allure of a local getaway in a cabin is strong, the provided reviews paint a picture of a resort that may have significant shortcomings regarding the condition of its accommodations and safety features.
One reviewer who stayed for three nights in August 2024 expressed considerable dissatisfaction with their experience. They described the furniture as so poor that it "needs to be burned" and labeled it as "nasty." Furthermore, they noted a pervasive "musty" smell throughout the cabin. While acknowledging that "the resort would be really cute if it was fixed up," they ultimately found it to be "terribly run down." This reviewer indicated a desire to cancel their stay but felt constrained due to traveling with two dogs and not having an alternative lodging option readily available, leading to the unsettling experience of "praying nothing crawled out!!"
Another reviewer described the place as "cute to stay" but raised a critical safety concern: "BUT PLEASE INSTALL WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS!!!" They observed smoke detectors mounted on the wall but saw no indication (no light) that they were operational, deeming this situation "Quite unsafe!" This highlights a potentially serious negligence regarding basic fire safety within the accommodation.
Environment and Location:
The address, 2051 The Point Rd E, Tomahawk, WI, suggests a location that might be situated on or near a point of land extending into a body of water, given the "The Point Rd E" designation. Tomahawk is known for its beautiful lakes and forests, so Three T’s could potentially offer a scenic environment with water views or access. The "cute" description from one reviewer also hints at a potentially appealing natural setting or overall aesthetic of the resort grounds, despite the issues with the cabin interiors.
Being located in the Tomahawk area places Three T’s within the Wisconsin Northwoods, a region known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of lakes and forests. The potential proximity to water, as suggested by the address, could be a significant draw for those seeking water-related activities during their local getaway.
However, it is crucial for local users to reconcile the potential charm of the location with the concerning reports about the condition of the cabins themselves. While the surrounding environment might be attractive, the quality and safety of the accommodation are paramount for a comfortable and worry-free stay.
Services and Amenities:
The provided reviews offer limited information about the specific services and amenities available at Three T’s. The mention of a "resort" suggests that there might be more than just individual cabins on the property, potentially including shared facilities or recreational areas. However, the negative feedback focuses entirely on the state of the cabin, leaving the broader resort amenities largely unmentioned.
Based on the expectation of a resort setting, potential services and amenities could include:
- On-site management or check-in office.
- Parking for guests.
- Possibly shared outdoor areas or recreational facilities.
- Potential for boat docking or lake access if located on the water.
However, the lack of positive comments regarding services and the strong negative remarks about the cabin's condition raise concerns about the overall upkeep and management of the property. Local users should not assume a high level of service or well-maintained amenities without further investigation.
The pet-friendly aspect mentioned by one reviewer as a reason for not canceling their stay is a notable service for those traveling with animals. However, this positive aspect is overshadowed by the significant issues reported with the cabin itself.
Features of the Camping Cabin:
The reviews provide some insight into the features of at least one of the camping cabins at Three T’s, though these features are largely negative:
- Furniture in Poor Condition: Described as "nasty" and in need of replacement ("needs to be burned").
- Musty Odor: A pervasive unpleasant smell throughout the cabin.
- Mounted Smoke Detectors (Potentially Non-Working): Present but with no indication of being operational, raising serious safety concerns.
- Pet-Friendly (Potentially): The reviewer with dogs felt limited in their options due to this.
The "cute" description of the place by one reviewer suggests that the cabin or resort might have some aesthetic appeal in terms of its design or setting, but this is contradicted by the "terribly run down" assessment from another guest. Local users should be wary of relying solely on the "cute" descriptor and pay close attention to the more critical feedback regarding the cabin's condition and safety.
Promotional Information:
The provided information does not include any promotional details for Three T’s. Local users interested in staying here would need to contact them directly at (715) 453-4197 or +1 715-453-4197 to inquire about rates, availability, and any potential special offers. However, given the negative reviews regarding the cabin's condition and safety, it would be prudent to ask very specific questions about the current state of the accommodations, including recent upgrades or maintenance, and the functionality of safety features like smoke detectors.
When contacting Three T’s, local users should consider asking:
- About the specific cabin they would be renting and its current condition.
- If any renovations or updates have been made recently.
- Directly about the functionality of the smoke detectors in the cabin.
- About their policies on cleanliness and pest control.
- For recent photos of the interior of the cabins.
- About any other amenities or services offered at the resort.
- Their cancellation policy, in case the condition of the cabin is not as expected upon arrival.
Recommendation for Local Campers:
For local residents seeking a 'camping near me' experience in a cabin near Tomahawk, WI, the reviews for Three T’s present significant red flags. The reports of nasty furniture, a musty smell, and potentially non-working smoke detectors indicate a need for extreme caution and thorough investigation before booking a stay. While the location might offer some appeal, the condition and safety of the accommodation are paramount.
Local users are strongly advised to contact Three T’s directly and ask detailed questions about the current state of their cabins and safety features. Requesting recent photos and clarification on the issues raised in the reviews would be prudent. Given the negative feedback, it might be wise to explore alternative camping cabin options in the Tomahawk area to ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable local getaway. The pet-friendly aspect might be a draw for some, but it should not outweigh concerns about cleanliness and safety.
In conclusion, while Three T’s might offer a convenient local option for a camping cabin, the available reviews suggest that significant improvements are needed regarding the condition of the accommodations and basic safety measures. Local users should proceed with extreme caution and due diligence before considering a stay at this resort.

Sep 16, 2024 · Deb JohnCute place to stay. BUT PLEASE INSTALL WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS!!!This saves lives. They are clearly mounted on the wall. I however see no light indicating that they do work. Quite unsafe!
