Timashamie Family Campground Introduce
For local users in Ohio searching for "camping near me," Timashamie Family Campground, located at 28251 Georgetown Rd, Salem, OH 44460, USA, offers a camping experience in Columbiana County. The environment of Timashamie Family Campground appears to offer a mix of settings, accommodating both primitive tent camping and a potentially larger RV park. One reviewer who stayed at a primitive tent site noted it was "close enough to the on site facilities but also far enough not to be too disturbed by the still very full rv park!" This suggests a layout that provides some separation between different camping styles, potentially offering a quieter experience for tent campers while still providing access to amenities. The reviewer also mentioned that "all the kids had fun fishing and 'roughing it' and they especially liked hiking along the ridge near our campsite," indicating the presence of natural features such as a ridge for hiking and possibly a fishing area. The surrounding area of Salem, Ohio, is typically characterized by rural landscapes, which could contribute to a peaceful and nature-oriented camping environment at Timashamie Family Campground. However, another review mentions "lots of drunks yelling at you whenever you drive through," which, if accurate, could detract from the peacefulness of the environment at certain times or in certain areas of the campground. It's important for prospective campers to consider these differing perspectives when evaluating the overall environment.
Information regarding the services at Timashamie Family Campground can be gleaned from the customer reviews. The presence of "on site facilities" is mentioned, and the positive review of the primitive tent site suggests these facilities are accessible from that area. The first review mentions "bathrooms/showers," implying that these amenities are available for campers. The reviewer who stayed in a cabin (mentioned in the context of their family visiting, though not the reviewer themselves) described them as "immaculate," suggesting that cabin rentals might be another accommodation option offered at the campground. The same review also praised the "nice hot showers." The mention of a pool that was "still open" at the time of one reviewer's visit indicates that a swimming pool is among the campground's amenities, although it was closed during a later visit by the same reviewer. The presence of lifeguards is also noted, although the behavior of the lifeguards was criticized in one review. The availability of primitive tent sites and an RV park suggests that the campground caters to different types of campers with varying needs for hookups and amenities. For local users searching for "camping near me," the range and quality of services like restrooms, showers, potential cabin rentals, and recreational facilities such as a pool and fishing area are important considerations.
The features of Timashamie Family Campground include both primitive tent sites and an RV park, catering to different camping preferences. The mention of cabins being "immaculate" suggests that cabin rentals are also a feature. Natural features such as a ridge suitable for hiking and a fishing area appear to be present, offering opportunities for outdoor activities. The presence of a swimming pool (though seasonal) is another recreational feature. However, one review raises concerns about the management style, mentioning "poor communication skills" and a tendency to address issues publicly on Facebook rather than directly with individuals. This reviewer also noted a lack of appreciation shown to paying customers. Another concerning feature mentioned is the alleged presence of "lots of drunks yelling" within the campground. The issue of unattended children and the management's response on Facebook was also highlighted negatively. These comments regarding management and the behavior of some guests could be important features for prospective campers to consider. While the campground offers basic amenities and some natural attractions, the social environment and management style seem to be points of contention based on one detailed negative review. For local users looking for "camping near me," it's crucial to weigh the potential positive features (natural setting, facilities) against the potential negative aspects (management style, disruptive guests) highlighted in the reviews.
Currently, no specific promotional information is provided for Timashamie Family Campground. Campgrounds often have varying rates for different types of campsites (primitive vs. RV) and for cabin rentals. Prices can also fluctuate based on the season, with "in season" rates potentially higher, as mentioned by one reviewer who plans to return during that time. Discounts for longer stays, off-season rates, or special packages might be available, but this cannot be confirmed based on the provided information. Local users searching for "camping near me" should contact Timashamie Family Campground directly at (330) 525-7054 or +1 330-525-7054 to inquire about their current rates and any promotional offers that might be available. It would also be prudent to ask about their policies regarding guest behavior and management communication in light of the concerns raised in one of the reviews.
In conclusion, Timashamie Family Campground near Salem, Ohio, offers a local camping option with a mix of primitive tent sites, an RV park, and potentially cabin rentals. The environment includes natural features like a ridge for hiking and a fishing area, and amenities include restrooms, showers, and a seasonal swimming pool. However, potential campers should be aware of the concerns raised in one review regarding management communication style and the behavior of some guests. While one reviewer had a positive experience at a primitive tent site, the other detailed several significant issues. Local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh these perspectives and contact Timashamie Family Campground directly at (330) 525-7054 or +1 330-525-7054 to gather more information about current rates, policies, and to assess if this campground meets their needs and expectations for a family camping experience.

Timashamie Family Campground Reviews
Nice campground. Owner has very poor communication skills. Instead of addressing issues with individuals she blasts everyone on Facebook & belittles everyone. In the two years we were there never once had she thanked her customers who paid on time or helped out. Lots of drunks yelling at you whenever you drive through even if you're doing 5 mph. To much drama. Our kids made great friends & loved having a little freedom until all parents were blasted on Facebook for kids being unattended & that was the last straw. I mentioned how rude it was & received insults. We were done & so we're a lot of our neighbors. Lifeguards flirted the whole time. Didn't pay attention to kids at all. Needs new management before we will ever be back. You don't treat paying customers that way. Now they're stuck with people who won't pay because she scared away all our neighbors & good customers.
Dec 07, 2024 · Lisa WalkerWe spent the weekend here for the first time this weekend, at one of the primative tent sites. It was close enough to the on site facilities but also far enough not to be too disturbed by the still very full rv park! The owner greeted us and helped us through check in and was super friendly. My only regret was not discovering this lovely campground when the pool was still open! Despite that, all the kids had fun fishing and "roughing it" and they especially liked hiking along the ridge near our campsite. Price was reasonable and we will definitely come back "in season".
Sep 18, 2022 · Amanda Dabb (Taharial)Memorial Day Sunday and Timashamie was packed to the brim with people. A lot of griping about the $5 a head entry fee for guests. But there was noise and chaos, dogs and kids, music and noise everywhere. Day rentals slots are being converted to long term leases. The only complaints about services was low electrical power (brown outs) when the park was full. I also noticed a crop duster applying chemicals on a field one half mile away. I hope the prevailing wind was away.
May 30, 2022 · Gary ConnorWe had reservations for the tent spot on the hill, we were told that it is 2 tent sites and that another family would be up there. Ok cool. We got there and the other family had spread out their camping things to take over the whole hill. Timashamie was able to give us another spot in a place they called 'the cove'. It was nice being back so far from other campers. It kinda sucks that it's basically right next to the road (just a hill separated tent sites from the road). we had a good time
Sep 12, 2022 · Adam & Brittany DoppTHIS PLACE NEEDS ATTENTION!!!First time there, I asked the lady at check in (not the owner ) if they had any seasonal sites she looked out the window seen my sister and I had older trailers and the lady said they were all filled up.. and even if they did have a site next year the price was going up several hundred dollars, But little does she knows We have newer 35' trailers we wanted to put there not the ones we had when camping for just the the weekend. So I feel the lady was judging us on our older weekend trailers NOT knowing We have newer 35' trailers we use for permanent camping.. Nice campground great pool.. But Beware you will be judged by what you have, I Frown on people or campsites that judge people by what they have So I rate this campground with a 👎!!!!!!
